Time for a new grow, I'm very excited! This time I'm growing two Sativa photoperiod strains in my new indoor cabinet. Thanks to Barney's Farm for the seeds! I started germination by putting the seeds in a glass of water for 24 hours, then transferred them to a damp paper towel. The Mimosa Evo germinated on the 14th, very quickly. I'm growing in BioBizz Lightmix soil, with extra perlite. I will be using their nutrient line as well. After germination I planted them into the soil and put a plastic bottle over it, to serve as a humidity dome.

A pretty good start for the young ladies. I had trouble keeping the RH up, so I used a plastic dome for the first week, which kept the humidity around 80%. The RH in the cabinet is around 30% now. They have a few burnt spots, probably because the ventilation has been off for a few hours with the lights on. I think they will recover just fine though.

I am impressed with the speed at which they are growing! Mimosa Evo is growing as I expected, but Laughing Buddha is showing some weird growth, might be a mutation. Next week I will transplant them and place them a bit further from the light. Had some problems with fungus gnats with my pepper plant, treated them with nematodes and sticky yellow traps, so I hope the problem is fixed.

This week the ladies got bigger pots, as they were outgrowing their previous containers. Now they are in 11L fabric pots, which gives them more air. I also lowered them, away from the light, as I noticed they were starting to experience light stress. I am preparing them for the Scrog, with LST and maybe topping.

This was a stressful week for my plants, as I'm getting them ready for the screen. The Mimosa Evo only needed some LST to start growing many branches, she is looking perfect for the ScrOG!! The Laughing Buddha still only had two branches and was not reacting very well to LST, so I decided to go with FIMing because it doesn't reduce stretching as much and should lead to 4 branches instead of 2. I'm very excited to start the ScrOG! Gave them a little bit of growing nutrient solution, half the dose on the feeding schedule as there should still be some nutrients left in the soil.

This was the last week before I flip the lights to a 12/12 schedule, time to start flowering baby! Every 2 days or so I tuck the plants further into the net, slowly filling the whole net. Mimosa Evo was ready for flowering a week or so ago, but because Laughing Buddha had not filled the net much yet I decided to wait a bit longer. Hopefully the net won't be too crowded for Mimosa Evo now.

Flipped to 12/12, very excited! I think the net is a bit too full, but we will manage. Could not find much information on how much they stretch, so I hope this will not be a problem.

Buds are starting to look really nice. Mimosa Evo is looking very dense and Laughing Buddha is more fluffy. The temperature dropped quite a lot this week, which I'm happy about because it's better for the flowering stage. I hope the plants stop stretching because there isn't more space, they are very close to the light. Luckily, no light burns so far, and it's a LED so the temperature from the light is minimal.

Just a good week of buds fattening up, not much else to add. Some tips were a little burnt, I think because of too much nitrogen, so one watering was without nutrients.

They are getting very sticky, smelly, and dense! The Mimosa has some nice citrus smells, while the Laughing Buddha just stinks like weed. Very curious about what they will taste/smell like after the cure.

Another good week of bud growth, the girls are packing on some nice weight. The biggest branch in the middle is showing some light/heat stress because it is so close to the light.

The temperatures are increasing in the Netherlands, which also means the temperatures in the cabinet are increasing slightly. Hopefully not too much. End of the grow is approaching, which means I'm checking the trichomes regularly now. Mimosa Evo is showing some cloudy, but mostly clear still.

The final weeks of this grow started. I am not going to give nutrients anymore, just a bit of Top-Max. The buds are getting fatter every day. Especially Mimosa Evo is looking and smelling really nice! Trichomes are about 50/50 clear and cloudy, aiming for all cloudy with a bit of amber.

10th week of flower, which means that the harvest is getting closer, I can smell it! Every time I open the cabinet, I am welcomed with the sweet smell of lovely flowers! The Mimosa Evo smells very much like the name suggests. The trichomes are now more cloudy, about 1/3 clear, 2/3 cloudy. Mimosa Evo is also showing some excellent fading on the leaves. I can't wait to harvest, but I must be patient... :)

Week 11 of flower, the last week of this grow... I'm so happy they made it through with no major problems! I gave them plain water in the final week to flush the soil. The smell is really good every time I open the cabinet, very nice! Tomorrow I will chop them first thing in the morning, so stay tuned for the smoke report, yield, and overall review in a couple of weeks!

Happy Harvest Day!

Very nice strain to grow. Laughing Buddha stayed very compact during the vegetative stage, responding fairly well to training. During the flowering phase, she grew some nice Sativa buds. The buds smell citrusy and are way more compact than they look. The high is Sativa dominant, and lives up to its own name! The yield was 45g under an 80W LED light, together with the Mimosa Evo the total yield was about 100g, so 1.25 g/w.

What a nice grow this was! I received the Laughing Buddha seeds from Barney's Farm to test, thanks for that! This was the first grow in the DIY cabinet, and it turned out wonderful! The LED light from Cokalila did really well. The early growth was very weird. It looked a bit mutated, as it was growing strangely. However, it still responded quite well to training and managed to fill the ScrOG nicely. The canopy stayed very even throughout the flowering phase, which resulted in a lot of big, quality buds. After harvest, the branches dried for about two weeks, after which they were ready for trimming. The trimming was easy and did not take too long. The final weight was 45 grams of quality bud. Together with Mimosa Evo, the harvest was 100 grams. The combined result was 1.25 grams per watt of light, not bad!

This is my favourite strain I have grown so far: it's easy to grow, smells amazing, has high bag appeal, and is very potent. The plant responded amazingly to low-stress training in the vegetative stage, making it easy to fill a screen without topping. In the flowering stage, the plant starts producing some amazing terpenes: every time I opened the closet, I was welcomed by fruity, citrus smells. The plant also looks very nice, with a cool, compact bud structure and nice purple hues. The end product is top-quality bud which knocks you off your socks! Definitely growing this strain again in the future!

This is my favourite strain so far! The grow was very easy from start to finish. During the vegetative stage, the plant responded perfectly to LST, with no need for topping the plant to fill the screen. During flowering, the plant produced rock-hard, purple buds. A pleasure for the eyes and for the nose: the smell is amazing, very much like a mimosa actually! I hang dried the branches in the growing cabinet with the extractor fan on. The buds took over two weeks to dry, maybe because they are so dense. Trimming was also difficult compared to other strains because of the bud structure. But it damn sure was worth the hard work!

@Plant_Scientist, that’s great, well done! If you don’t mind me asking, how do you manage to get a light for “testing” ? 😇

@DrJones, the light is from Cokolila, dimmable '1000W' light. The actual power draw is 80W. They send it to me for testing which is very nice :)
