Placed the QCS auto gelato directly in soil after 3 days it sprouted. The Mars hydro is at 25% using a 4” ax infinity exhaust fan, vornado v8 oscillating circulating fan. In root farm hydro soil mixed with worm castings. Fed just oh balanced water at 6.5. I have a separate photo period grow and for the price these sunstream tents can’t be beat. Most competition has a 48” the 56” height is great for getting the most out of your grow.
Plant is slow since sprouting but looks healthy. The auto gelato from QCS had some stretch, so I turned up the Mars hydro ts1000 light output on dimmerto 35% to help reduce stretch after first day of noticing it. Plants reacting well. This is my first indoor auto I’m doing a photoperiod in the same tent and with different light but same soil and am interested to see the differences giving the similar setups.
I will be using Diablo nutrients on it just like my photo period grow. And plan to add a ac infinity raxial 4” intake fan on this tent as well. I like the idea of a fully circulating supply of air being available.
Week two has seen some more growth light was moved to 100% power on the dimmer and moved 2/8” or two clicks up on the 1/8 ratcheting hangers. Had a feeding of Diablo nutrients but still largely ph water to 6.5 moving into week 3 I’ll start feeding with more Diablo.
The QCS auto gelato is doing okay, the light has been raised 1/8” increments everyday. I started defoliating a little. I removed the first set of single leaves and the second set of 3 leaves at the 3rd node to get better light penetration.
The auto gelato got a slight nutrient burn after foilar feeding at night. So I’ve only been foilar feeding with water. I’m not familiar with auto flowers but I feel like it’s doing well. It will be fed the same weekly nutrient mixture it was fed last time still mixed to 1.5L to help dilute the mixture. I find this strain to be finicky to nutrients as I’ve done a auto gorilla glue from QCS outdoors and fed it the same mixture with no burn.
The QCS auto gelato is going well it’s measured in at 14” at the end of week 4. Was given a lot lower defoliation and tucking of upper fan leaves. It’s growing well I’m foilar feeding nightly again and it is taking it well nutrient burn like the previous week. I started feeding it monster frost as it will soon be transitioning into flower.
The marshydro TS1000 is being moved at a rate of 2-4/8” a day until it reaches the highest point in the tent. The plant is doing well interested into seeing what happens over the next week. I may start to transition to flowering mixtures starting next week.
The auto gelato is doing well it received another light defoliation and some trimming of tiny branches. The plant is still finicky but seems to be doing better after switching over to the flower schedule for Diablo nutrients. Foilar feeding has stopped since flowering and plants drinking a lot heavier now as well.
Plant has stretched from 14” to 21” over the last week but hasn’t bushed out as much as I had hoped/expected it might.
Moved the gelato to week 3 of the Diablo feeding schedule. Gave it a second light defoliation and a slight LST to give each branch more area and light penetration. I feel the gelato is finally happy getting nutrients. We will see how it progresses over the next few weeks during flower.
Growth has been alright I gave the QCS auto gelato a little LST to try and give each branch equal lighting and continued with defoliation to give maximum light penetration.
The QCS auto gelato seems to be doing well and developing nicely in flowering. A few more weeks till harvest still. The QCS auto gelato got all its LST sites tightened up to maximize light to canopy and lower areas.
I have stayed in the Diablo feeding schedule I’m on week 5 of their 8 week feed schedule so should finish well. I’m a big fan of Diablo and have used frost on a few different plants and always like the results.
The marshydro ts1000 hit its max height a few weeks back and an ac infinity 4” carbon filter was installed in tent. I added a ac infinity 40 raxial intake fan as well to create some positive pressure and increase airflow tot he vornado oscillating fan. I had to back the Mars hydro to around 80% and may have to dimmer it a bit more during the end of flower.
Looking forward to seeing the next few weeks of development on the QCS auto gelato.
The auto gelato is doing well it has stayed on the Diablo feeding schedule and I’m now adding some Diablo monster k (flower densification) as I was interested on how it would work.
Everything has stayed pretty consistent as it’s nearing harvest ill be checking with a microscope to see if amber heads are showing up this coming week.
The auto gelato is in its final week and will be taken down in a few days. It got its last nutes including the Diablo monster k flower densification in a separate feeding the previous week. The flower are looking nice the calyx is nice and swollen with heaps of crystals and even some slight purpling. Possibly caused from me dropping the temps over the last week or maybe from the auto gelato strain itself.
I got these seeds from QCS as freebies and wasn’t sure if I would grow it again but would definitely give it another run in the future if the cured flowers are good. But really looking forward to trying the dr.seeds 24k gold auto flower next.
I can’t say the QCS is a favourite I will definitely revisit as I got 3 of these as a freebie from QCS when I ordered. The lemony terp smell has subsided a little after curing and has a nice smell now.
