The buckets are bubbling and this time out I'll be trying another offering from my local seed bank's ever-growing collection of 'souvenirs'. I'll be growing an intriguing sounding hybrid, Grandaddy Bruce. Grandaddy Purple x Bruce Banner comprises two widely venerated strains of weed with quality genetics that resulted in combinations to calm and stimulate flawlessly. This hybrid with certain Indica-bias is renowned for the weed adventure like none other. It’s no strain for reckless exercise; otherwise, the effects will be daunting. First is Grandaddy Purple, a widely-known Indica, while the second is Bruce Banner, an especially heavy strain with elevated levels of THC. - Strain Genetics:Grandaddy Purple x Bruce Banner - Strain Dominant: Indica-Dominant - THC Content: 26% - CBD Content: 0.7% - Flowering Time: 8-10 Weeks I soaked the seed overnight in distilled water and then popped the seed directly into a pete plug the next day. I placed the plug into a grow tray containing some PH balanced, filtered water. I placed the tray on top of a seedling heat mat and placed a humidity dome on top of the tray. Seed sprouted within 48 hours and the first root broke through the pete plug about 48 hours after that. I transplanted the seedling into a 4" net pot containing clay pellets today, 7 days after soaking the seed. A moderate dose of nutes in the rez, EC .5 and PH at 6.0. She'll get top feedings until her roots break through the net pot. The plan is to veg for 3-4 weeks before setting up the ScrOG and flipping things to flower. The lighting in the tent has been upgraded so I'm keen to see what differences it will make 😎 Off we go with another grow. Thanks for tuning in ✌️

They look seriously fat buds. Really love how swelled you're getting them.

@Kilbarrack, Thanks. Yes, this strain is producing some very chunky buds. I hope they taste as good as they smell!

I need to get 1 of those for my changes. Looks like much less work. You ever have issues with the roots getting sucked up?

@StunFlower, Enjoy your trip! Outdoor autos are always a great idea. Quick and they don't get too big.

@Oozle, A break is good. I'm going to have to take a little growing hiatus myself. We have a trip planned to B.C. at the beginning of June so I won't be able to start anything new until I get back. I'm hoping I can at least get an auto or two going outdoors when I return.

@StunFlower, awesome. Thanks for sharing. I will look into getting 1. I am hoping I only need 1 more res change until the late summer/fall haha. Going to try and finish the season out in soil and take a break during the hottest part of the summer.

@Oozle, Thanks! It's taking some time to get feed/PH dialled in for the Grandaddy Bruce but hopefully I'll get it figured out 🤞

Stinks about your EC meter. I had that happen to me last year with a cheap $15 EC meter from Amazon. I bought a Blue Lab EC meter and haven't looked back since.

@StunFlower, oh man. I guess I should calibrate mine too. Thanks for the info. Definitely going to do it before my next hydro run.

@Oozle, Oh, I have a Blue Lab meter. I think it lulled me into a false sense of security. The calibration was long overdue. Money saving tip... My pen kept erroring out when I tried to calibrate it which led to me trying to find the 'recommended' Blue Lab cleaning kit for the probe which is about $18 CAD for a tiny tube of cream cleaner, a little cleaning stick, and a small pouch of calibration fluid. I already had calibration fluid, so the cleaning cream was all I really needed. Fortunately, as it turns out, my local hydro store didn't have one in stock and I ended up buying a bottle of cream cleaner (VIM) from the dollar store for $1.75 which did the job perfectly.

@Thundrfuk, Thanks buddy. Yes, I love DWC - it can keep you hopping but I enjoy the challenge. All the best to you and your grows 👊

You're plants are zooming! I still like liquid karma (botanicare's kelp product) in DWC haha. It def can cause problems, but I learned to not use it early until the roots are established and keep my res inoculated with hydroguard and use SLF-100 every so often. It adds so much I can't add without a bunch of bottles: B- vitamins, amino acids, humic acids, + the kelp has natural PGRs and hormones great for the plant's health. I never tried Remo's velokelp, but it probably has a lot of the same stuff. But you know, it isn't needed and you can grow bomb plants without it.
