Placed seed in water glass for 24 hours and then transferred to paper towel inside a zip-lock bag. Placed on seedling mat set to 82 degrees and covered with a towel to block out light. Took a couple days to sprout.
When we purchased some houseplants from big box store, they came in plastic pots with a wick to bring moisture to the soil. Used those pots to plant my seeds in. First watering was compost tea made up of worm castings, compost, seaweed extract and molasses (aerated for 24 hours).
Live in Phoenix metro and used a seed starting mix purchased from Arizona Worm Farm to plant the germinated seed. Kept seedling on heat mat and covered the top of the pot with the baggie that held the paper towel. I probably could have (should have?) planted the seed sooner because when I planted it, the root was already > 1" long. Because of that it only took 24 hours to pop out of the soil.
Concerned that my girls are a bit leggy. I have a high-powered grow light in my shed, but I've been hesitant to keep them there because it's been down in the 40's at night here in Phoenix. Have a cheap Home Depot grow light inside. To balance out the light/heat conundrum, I am keeping the girls inside, under the lame light in the evening and early AM and putting them outside to soak up the sun during the day. Watering with compost tea.
Arizona is starting to warm up. Been putting the girls outside during the day and bringing them inside the house at night. The indoor light is the FEIT 27 watt full spectrum LED. My garden shed has the more powerful Best VA light, but I've been hesitant to put her in the shed due to the cold. Tonight 2/12 - at the end of week 2 - I'm moving the girls to the shed at night. The girls will be outside soaking up rays for about 9 hours, and inside the shed for the remaining 9 hours. Light is about 23" from the plant - which is recommended distance for seedlings.

This week, I decided they were strong enough to spend the night in the shed. So far they seem to be handling the cooler nighttime temperatures well.
In Phoenix we have a charming small business called the Arizona Worm Farm which sells worms, worm castings, mulch, etc. I started her off in the worm farm seedling starter, but she needed a bigger home. Day 20 was re-potting day. I will continue the indoor/outdoor veg schedule till May, so I needed a good potting mix. The worm farm has a lovely raised bed mix (compost, worm castings, coco coir, vermiculite & basalt dust) that will eventually be her home outdoors. For her tender juvenile years, I wanted to spoil her, so I decided to start her off in Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. However, to conserve $$, I used Fox Farm in the center of the pot and Worm Farm mix at the bottom and sides. The weird milk jug pictures show how I did this. I cut a hole in the top and bottom of the milk jug and scooped the worm farm soil outside of it and the Fox Farm inside. Also put 100% Fox Farm in the top 3-4 inches. Not 100% sure the size of the plastic pots – 3-4 gallons is my guess. I was able to stretch a 1.5 cubic foot bag of Fox Farm to fill 6 pots.
She is really filling out. It’s been rainy and cold this week and I kept her inside for a couple of days during the worst of it. It’s supposed to warm up in the next couple of days and I think by March 1st, we can say goodbye to 40 degree nighttime temps and hello spring temps.
In the beginning of the week she was standing a bit crooked. I will be mainlining soon and I want her central stem to be strong. So I tied her stem to a chop-stick to do a bit of low stress training prior to topping her. At the end of the week, I topped her as step one in mainlining. Also took her top and attempted a clone. There were 4 girls that germinated on the same day. This one is the healthiest and had one more node than her sisters. I will wait a week and then top her sisters. She was well over 9" tall before topping. Also hit the hydro store and picked up some Fishsh!t and Recharge. Added that, worm castings and some Down to Earth dry amendments to brew up a compost tea. Gave her a big sip on 3/4 after topping her. We'll see how she looks next week.
Check out the 2.99 humidity dome that my hubby made for me. Picked up a clear (except for the flowers on the sides) tote at the dollar store. He used plastic tops from QT to create vents at the top of the dome. It's nice and tall for my clones.
For my watering this week I used silica and FishSh!t. Silica brand is Alchemist Stout MSA – Monosilic acid. This helps strengthen stems and protect against heat stress. She’ll need all the protection she can get for my Arizona outdoor grow this summer.
She recovered very well from her 1st topping. Has two nodes.
At one week post topping (day 42), she was recovering nicely. Had three strong nodes on the topped branches.
She’s been the star of the grow so far. I topped her two days sooner than her siblings, so she’s showing 3 nodes at beginning of week instead of two.
Topped a second time on March 17th.
This week spring is in full force in Phoenix with 80+ degree days.
Mainlining this girl for a summer outdoor grow. Topped her for the 2nd time today. Removed nodes below 3rd node, but kept the fan leaves. Defoliate or leave the leaves?
Your main lining for an outdoor grow? Oh so your going for a giant mainline bigger than anything we seen on here before- I like it. In that case id leave em on, They will absorb more light=more energy = more growth. Defol later on - because the sun actually moves across the sky and doesnt stay in one place like a LED in a grow room, you can leave more leaves on as the sun moves they will still get light. Outdoors your better off leaving more leaves on than you would indoors, ok. Take off any un wanted shoots thou- but leave as many leaves on for as long as possible outdoors.
3-22 notes: Day 52. 2nd node forming on topped branches. Tied down the 4 stems. So far this is a textbook mainline. The branches are fattening up evenly. Love this girl.
Spring equinox week. Daytime highs 74-89. Nighttime lows 51-59. Top dressed some worm castings and watered with Fishsh!t on 3/19 and again on 3/24 with some Recharge added to the brew.
3/27-Removed node 1 on 4 tops. Waiting for branch to heal before tying down.

It’s early in flower, but already have quite a few yellow leaves. She’s a big girl (over 7’ tall), so I don’t know if she’s used up all the Nitrogen in the soil, and I need to amend or leave her alone.
Dang man, that thing needs defoliated!
It could be that those leaves aren't getting enough sunlight, so the plant mobilizes the nutrients out of those leaves and lets it fall.

Haven’t posted in awhile, but when I last asked for advice, someone recommended that she needed a haircut. She had been in flower, but the buds were pretty tiny. I gave her radical trim and it seemed to work. Buds are now starting to stack.
Took a peek under the magnifying glass. Trichomes not yet developed. Now that the hot part of the summer is over, she's pretty low maintenance right now. Just water every few days.
Just waiting for amber trichomes. Cloudy with a chance of potency. Next door neighbor said he could smell it from his house. Beginning to worry about motivated thieves who might take a chance and scale our 8' fence.
Had a couple of the stems which were almost drooping on the ground due to the weight of the buds, so decided to harvest those two branches today. Also, this week I did a bit more research on when to harvest. I had been waiting for the trichomes to begin to turn amber, but after reading this article: https://www.growweedeasy.com/harvest, I decided to harvest when the trichomes were cloudy. Experts say that the amber trichomes give a more relaxing effect, but I was growing this plant for daytime use. Looked at it under my digital microscope and decided to pull the trigger on the whole plant. Plus, the neighbors were starting to notice the smell.
Final height - 104" - 8 1/2 feet - 2.64 meters.
Not good. Was concerned that someone would hop the fence and pilfer my plant.
Harvested her at 35 weeks - 281 days. Grow diaries really needs to expand the weeks available for us outdoor growers.
Started her indoors in Feb. Transplanted outside on April 7th.
She was a superstar throughout the grow. Tried my hand at mainlining for all my plants. She grew the biggest. Her full height was over 100" - 8 1/2 feet. As you can see by the stump picture, she thrived with the high stress training. I live in Arizona and she germinated on January 29th. I kept her indoors under the grow lights until I transplanted her outside on April 7th. Kept supplemental lights on her until May 19th. Total grow time was 35 weeks.
Gave her a bath after harvest. 8 months of Arizona dust and dirt
She handled our blazing hot summers (Temp > 115 F (46 C) like a she was born to it.
She's been outside, so I plan to wash the buds and then do a wet cure. (using for edibles). I'm doing a rough trim before I soak her, but still have a lot of weight in branches. Is this expected for 'wet' weight? Is the final weight after fully drying and trimming? Thanks!
Exactly because of the impossibility to weigh reliably and because the wet weight does not say much about the end product, many here prefer not fill in this category. You can leave it empty if you want to.
This strain is pure sativa. Grew it to 🤞🏻combat my adult son’s ADHD. Anyone know if terpines that will be washed away in the water curing process affects medicinal properties? Will be making edibles out of this 10 lb (wet weight) girl.
I too would be just drying this "normally".
Can't see any reason or advantages, only dangers (the whole lot turning into compost), with pseudo science based weird techniques like "water curing"
