I put a seed inside filtered water for 24 hours prior to putting the seed in a 5 gal fabric pot. The seed successfully germinated within a few days, I noticed it popping out of the grow medium this morning before I went to work.
I am growing in a 5x5 tent (perpetual grow). 3 seeds/plants will be Fastbuds strains, including this Gorilla Cookies auto.
GROW MEDIA: I am using Promix Organic with silica sand added, perilite for drainage, and Great White Mycorrhizae to help build a strong root zone 💪
I'll be using CalMag every water also
OBSERVATIONS:
I noticed fungus gnats a few days ago, which I find extremely common when using promix organic 'soil'. To remediate this issue I've temporarily laid perolite on top of my grow media & this week Ill spray the room and tent with Dr.Doom.
After that I'll remove the perilite and water some nematodes into my fabric pot.
I have my lights at the top of my tent (probably around 6.75 feet) at 90% strength to accommodate the other plants in the tent. Once they are harvested, I'll probably drop them down and turn them down a bit. I'm also looking into another 150-200 watt LED to put in my tent before these seedlings get fully into the veg cycle.
I plan on adding Great White Mycorrhizae and Orca this week when I water the pot.
Overall seedling health is good so far!
Not much going on other than that. I have 2 blackstrap plants that get the chop this week so I'll be planting a few more Fastbuds seeds shortly.
I'm waiting to spray the Dr. Doom until the blackstraps get the chop.
Happy growing all✌️
Very busy week in the grow tent. I cut down the 2 Blackstrap Autos last weekend and then I germinated 2 more seeds, which brings my plant total to 6... technically 7 because one of my seedlings came out a twin 🤣.
The Gorilla Cookies is on auto pilot right now. I watered her a few days ago Great White & Orca and the effects are just starting to show. I think the root system is taking well and she's about to take off into full vegetation.
I installed a 3rd light in my tent this week which will help me reach 750 watts during flower inside my 5x5.
I also creates my own homemade CO2 generator and I plan on making a few more this week when I have time.
Happy growing, follow me on I.G.

It's been a progressive week inside the tent. Many of my plants have been receiving low stress training. I've noticed that my plants are praying when the lights come on in the afternoon, so I decided it's a good time to train.
I've also added homemade CO2 generators to try and save some money, my power bills are easily 100$ more a month since I got the 5x5 tent. Im unsure the exact amount of CO2 I am generating but I've been told that this homemade CO2 generator is far more effective than CO2 additives that can be purchased online ( you know what I'm talking about).

I used his format but doubled the ingredients and creates two full units instead of one (see pictures). The parts needed and ingredients used cost me less than 20$ and I'll have CO2 for months for that price 😁😁😁. I plan on getting a CO2 analyzer for the tent possibly in March.
I purchased an Inkberd humidity controller this week and it's been a game changer already. My RH has increased to 65-70 % from approx. 50-65 %. I've also increased my temperature by 2 degrees both day and night. These two environmental changes are probably why my plants are so happy. I've also added nematodes into my grow media to help combat issues like fungus gnats larvae, which seem to keep coming back.
Next week's goals:
- Slowly increase light intensity on my TS1000s to increase ppfd.
- Introdue a compost tea regiment which will include a product called Golden Tree 0-0-2
- Continue training

She just started showing sex so I've considered this another week of veg, as she's about to stretch like crazy. This gorilla cookies is my favorite plant in my tent right now. She's praying all hours of the day. I've added an organic 0-0-2 kelp product to the mix rather than starting compost tea regiment.
Environmental change:
I swaped my exhaust and intake. My exhaust now sits close to the ground in order to draw the hot air towards my plants. This will also help push CO2 through my canopy instead of just directing it up towards a standard exhaust.
This week's goals:
-I continued my LST training but I didn't start a compost tea regiment yet.
-I've continued to improve my environmental conditions.
Next week's goals:
-Turn up lights slightly
-Implement a compost tea regiment.. no more excuses
A note on last weeks goals:
- I increased my light by roughly 5% and quickly decided to turn it back down. I noticed really early signs of light stress and decided it was too early to intensify ppfd.
- I started a compost extract feeding program using compost, organic soil, liquid kelp extract, Great White & Orca mycorrhizae. I plan on using this again in the future, the ladies really enjoyed it.
- I purchased a CO2 meter to try and improve my homemade CO2 generator system. It turns out I'm only creating 850-900 pmm of CO2. I am going to add another canister to the tent to try and achieve a concentration greater than 1100ppm. This will help my plant uptake more nutrients and light leading to an overall higher quality product (for the price of a bag of sugar and yeast, my CO2 generators are already 100x better than any bullsh*t CO2 product I can buy).
The gorilla cookies auto is in pre flower currently and stretching about 2 inches a day. I will continue to LST her and keep trying to improve my environment. She's really happy right now and her older fan leaves are bigger than my face 🤣.
Next week's goals:
- continue LST
- Continue compost extract feeding
- Improve CO2 concentration inside tent
- Reduce relative humidity (RH) by 5% by the end of the week
A note on last weeks goals:
- Continuing LST has been very easy with this girl. Following a VPD chart and keeping a good environment has been key to establishing a successful low stress training regiment. In the last week I decided to use stainless steel nuts and bolts as weights. I tie them to the end of the side branches rather than tieing them down to the side of the pot. This makes it easier to water.. I will use this technique again, I really like it. I also pull my plants out of the tent and place them in a tote to water them and inspect them.
- I've been playing with my CO2 generators .. adding more yeast, less sugar etc.. the highest CO2 concentration I've been able to achieve is 1050 ppm. With that in mind i will probably purchase a rotometer and a CO2 tank for future runs. Furthermore I think that the yeast and sugar combo could lead to an infestation if in not carefull (bugs are attracted to sugar and yeast). I have noticed my plants are praying for 15 hours a day though and I think the CO2 has been a game changer through vegetation.
A note on my environment:
I decided to add photos of some of my gear for my garden. This grow I decided to swap my intake and exhaust fan placement. With putting my exhaust on the FLOOR, the air in my tent is drawn from upwards towards the floor. This gives my plants proper contact time with the CO2. It also takes the heat from the top of my tent and pulls it downwards acting as a heat source for my crop... In my pictures you will notice my 4 inch inline fan and my 6 inch inline fan are attached to a secondary room. This helps me draw fresh air while releasing my exhaust away from my tent room.
WHEN GOING INTO FLOWER I turn up my intake fan to get cool air to the top of my tent. The exhaust draws it down cooling my tent when the lights are turned up in the last stage of flower. As a new grower this has been the step to changing my entire grow. Everything is much healthier and I owe it all to my environment, and Fastbuds genetics.
One more thing: I almost burnt my house down and electrocuted my ass with a cheap water heater... careful while playing with electricity and water 🤣🔥🔥⚡️
Next week's goals:
- Turn up lights slowly
- Continue to play with CO2 generators to try and achieve 1200+ ppm concentration
- Continue training and defoliation
- keep up pest management.. these fungus gnats keep trying to regroup and they're starting to hurt my feelings.. I get rid of them in my tent but they keep coming back!
The bud sites are stacking nicely, I'm getting excited she starting to remind me of the Fastbuds Forbidden Runtz auto when she went into flower...and that was the best plant I've ever grown 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Happy growing everyone!
I caught covid 2 weeks ago and I've had a really rough go keeping up with my garden on a daily basis. I'm just starting to feel better so I've been able to get back into the daily work in my garden.
My fan leaves started to get really light and burn up quickly while I was sick.. she must have been pretty hungry lol. I got her back on track with a compost tea heavy on coffee grinds for nitrogen, kelp meal and molasses.. she's been praying since I applied it a few days ago. Aside from some burn up fan leaves, I'm fairly happy with the growth of the plant. A big disadvantage of growing 5 different strains at a time is the demand each plant has for its own individual nutritional regime. Going forward I might go back to growing 2 strains at a time so I can focus on their needs respectively.
At this point in flower I'm focused on keeping my humidity around 50-55 percent while keeping my temperatures higher to promote growth.
I'm pretty much on auto pilot at this point.. im still just feeding compost extracts to keep it simple. There's a couple things I want to point out this week; I've also included a video of my cheese auto and no extra cost to the reader 😅🤣
PROCESS/ENVIRONMENT CHANGES
- I've lowered the temp inside my tent a little bit to help keep my VFD between a good range for flower (1.0 - 1.5). I also changed the RH on my humidity controller when the temperature goes down after the lights go off. It's kind of a hassle but it's the only way I can stay in the range I'm looking for.
- I've started to raise the pH of my water slowly... I want it to be between 6.6. And 6.8 at this point.
- I've increase all my lights.. my Sf4000 is at 85% intensity and both my Ts1000s are sitting at around 75% intensity.
- I've increased all my fans running. My intake is maxed out, my exhaust is on '6' and my fans inside my tent are all maxed out.. the cheese auto is drowning my entire house out hahaha its crazy.
-I've cut off a whole bunch of fan leaves, larf, bottom branches and a bunch of other unwanted stuff.. I'm hoping that she thickens up fairly like some of her sister's in the tent 🤞 cutting off all the unwanted junk might help at least move more air at the bottom of the canopy.. at most it will help direct energy to other parts of the plant therefore producing a better flower. If she does fill out I'll have to support her side branches so they don't fall over.
- Every day I rotate the plants in my tent so that the get to experience the light in different ways.

It's been an interesting week. I had to ask for help with resolving the intense smell coming from my garden... I can smell it from my driveway at this point.. I was advised that I probably turned my fan up way too high, which overloads the carbon filter on the end of my exhaust. I ordered another new one.. turned it down.. and I also had to cut down the cheese auto... all her trichomes were cloudy bit I definatly could have left her for another week... just couldn't handle the smell lol.
Ask for help and you shall receive, thanks Growdiaries. And thank you Oozlefinch for the solid advise.. ✌️
I bought a rosin press this week and it's awesome.. she will be used for this grow as soon as things are ready.
I cut out my backyard to plan for round #3 for all these plants.. plus a whole lot more!
Process/ Environment changes:
-Turned down my exhaust fan.. the carbon filter can't keep up with the amount of air being pushed through it.. in the water industry we would call this 'short circuiting'....
The Gorilla cookies is growing well. It's a tall plant with long nugs ( I hope the full out a lot more). I would recommend supporting the branches at this point in the grow. There's a slight smell coming off her and trichome production was late to start compared to most the other plants I have... I suspect she will go past 90 days unfortunately, but I'm excited to see what the finished product looks like.
Hitting her with compost teas at a pH of around 6.7
That's it.. I'm on auto pilot at this point.. there's not much I can do except sit back and wait.
Thank you Fastbuds
At this point I'm checking the plant for signs telling me it's time to harvest. I think I'm getting pretty close at this point.
She is putting out a strong smell and has a sativa structure with tall and dense flowers.
I fed a really heavy compost extract this week with calmag and Golden Tree.
Process/ Environment changes:
- turned off one Ts1000 yesterday when I cut down the blackberry auto
- humidty set to 45-50 % RH
I'm on auto pilot at this point and I'm looking forward towards the dry and cure phase. I have purchased 1 gallon glass jars to cure the flower in. I have also purchased 2 way humidity pack to help keep my cure on the right track. I will go in to detail about my process when the time has come to dry the flower.
I'm going to keep it short this week due to the fact that I am harvesting probably around Friday. I'm just waiting for some free space in my drying zone which has been taken up by the runtz and blackberry.. I added photos of some trimmed nugs to get them some exposure, I'm really proud of how they turned out.
Process/ Environment changes:
-I stopped giving any nutrients about 5 days ago
- humidity is at 60% to help dry the plants on the outside of my tent but inside my tent ROOM
- temps in tent have increased a bit due to less plants inside room
- I've turned off both my ts1000 lights, I don't need them anymore
Well it's finally time to cut her down. It's day 95 post germination for this lady, and she's at maximum potency. All trichomes are cloudy with about 5-10% amber & she's giving out a mixed palet of aromas. I can smell a very distinct mix of lemon, urea, skunk, and spice.
It was relatively easy plant to grow. I started in a super soul which ran out of nutrients early and I had to supplement with bottled nutrients. Going forward I'm going to have to put more thought into my initial soil composition.
Please note:
I'm only estimating the 'Wet Bud Weight'; for the purposes of this diary I estimated 12-16 ounces. Cannabis can loose up to 75% of its mass during the drying phase and based on past experience, I am expecting 4-6 ounces of finished flower.
Dry/cure process:
1. Cut entire plant down by main stock
2 hang upside down in a dark room with controlled humidty and temps....
- Temperature should range from 67-72 °F, and my humidity will range between 57-60%.
3. Full trim complete after 8-11 days of drying.
4. Stick in Mason jars indefinitely with 2-way Boveda humidty packs (62%).
4-20. Smoke 2 joints before you smoke 2 joints.. and then you smoke 2 more ☮️
I'll post a thorough smoke report in roughly 3 weeks
Thank you growdiaries.com
Thank you growmies
Thank you Fastbuds
Nice mate, getting excited now after reading your review, just planted mine about an hour ago.
Hopefully they produce a good yield as my two auto afghan kush gave me 8.5 oz dry bud in total lol
Keep up the good work mate and hopefully see another diary up soon to see what magic you can do 👌👌👌👌
@Wrongholn519, no problem mate thank you for taking time to follow my grow.
Wish I could do outside grows but my country is still stuck in the past and won't make it legal so I have to do everything at tye dead of night
@Green_fiend, thanks so much. Good luck on the grow! Ill be sure to check out your updates on your diary. I've got 2 Quebec Blue and 2 ak47 female photos that just popped and I'm putting them outside. I'll be running autopots indoors by July too.
