Grow Questions

Had 2 stems that aren't doing well. Can really tell what happened. They are a lot taller than the rest. At first I thought it was because of light intensity. When I examined it closer it looks like the stem is damage or some sort of nutrient thing. Any thoughts

I'm not sure what happened there, I don't think its a nutrient issue since the rest of the plant looks healthy, it could be some type of mite problem. Either way I would cut those branches off so it has less of a chance to spread throughout the who plant.

@KushReloaded, thanks I got a little bolder on my second grow with defoliation. That's my hope. To have so much bud I don't know what to do with it but share with friends.๐Ÿ˜

Hey friend, Looking good for your second attempt! Would you be alright with me offering some pointers for your next tries? So cannabis plants love heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it, In veg we want warm temps of 79-84 MAX & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we have too big of a fluctuation in temperature between lights on and off we stretch our plants. We do not want that! So we like to keep our temp gaps nice and close for veg & early flower. Once we get past weeks 4-6 of flower depending on the strain, Our plants finish their vertical growth. By this stage what we want to do with our temperature has changed, Now we want those fluctuations to start getting bigger between lights on and off. We want to now begin to allow for more than 10 degrees less with lights off and allow for a bit more each passing week until harvest. Now the plants responses to this have changed and it will send extra energy into the budding process and resin production. It helps the plant think the ending of the season is near and triggers genetic responses within the plant. We can also use light deprivation to simulate cloud cover the last 2 weeks & the last week use very cold feed temps. These all help us get a real nice finish on our product. Our buds will grow differently depending on what type of environment they are in. If our rooms are too warm we get big airy buds, If our rooms are too cold we get dense caked nugs but we lose out on a lot of size. Density and size are best when paired together & to achieve this we want to manage our temps properly. Early flower up to weeks 2-3 79-84 MAX is still good and no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. But after that, we want to taper down that high end to more around 77-79 MAX with lights on. Once our ladies finish their vertical growth we now begin to widen that gap with lights off and get a nice finished product. Mastering this technique really helps you achieve a craft cannabis look. Check out VPD, Vapor pressure deficit, and how it relates to growing cannabis. All new growers should learn how to use a VPD chart and log their numbers daily. Also if you have not done so yet grab yourself a PAR meter & a thermal laser temp gun to help you read your plants and grow to their needs. This equipment also really helps us get the most potential from our lights onto our plants. If you should need any help please don't hesitate to ask, Just follow my profile & message me! I am always willing to help out, My last diary was a 200 light 7,000 plant and now I am posting up a greenhouse diary from last season. My youtube page is linked off my grow diaries profile & I am currently producing a tutorial series on it for all levels of growers to benefit from. If this interests you make sure to subscribe I can use all the support I can get. Take it easy friend & Happy growing!

I was looking at your question sorry I didn't see it before, however, GrowCN is very correct. If your plant pots are only 1.3 gallons your plants are being choked out with root bound creating death aka orange/ brown dead-like on the stem. Everything past that brownness is just dead and it's the plant's response to the roots involved in producing that growth that has been choked out by maxing out the container. I would recommend 3-gallon pots minimum as they are the perfect size for photoperiods that you're doing short veg on, Or auto flowers.

@LegacyMarketFarm, yeah I need to adjust that. It actually a 5 gallon pot forgot to change the unit of measurement.
