I was gifted a lovely assortment of seeds. The strain I’m focusing on I don’t think exist or at least I couldn’t find it. These ladies are a Strawberry Diesel x Purple Diesel thus I decided to appropriately name these babies Plum Diesel. It’s good to be back!
The girls are really starting to grow into their potential. I was starting to worry because growth seemed slow and a last push of winter had things a lot colder than expected. But now everything seems to be back on track sitting in 3 gallons of water, feeding at 350-370 PPM with beautiful rice noodle roots.
Another week down and the girls are picking up speed, starting to have noticeable growth daily now! Decided to mess around with some plant training and mix full strength nutrient on the fella outside of the photos. Two of the ladies are a bit Deformed but it’s custom genetics so I’m not upset. I always feel like they’re growing so slow until I look at pictures from the previous week. A minor (what looks to me to be Calcium) deficiency on one of the girls leaves, hopefully it clears up with the reservoir change. see yah next week!
Another week came and went without issue! Everything is rolling perfectly. Wish I could say more but it’s just a waiting game from here on out. After mulling it over I’m committed to a couple extra weeks in veg to really establish this mainline I’ve got going. Not exactly what I was hoping for but the way I see it, if I veg for a couple more weeks to get a bigger yield is it really that dramatic? Patience really is a virtue when growing! See you next week! )>^.^)>
A little more plant training done a few days prior to this week (pictures are in week 4) the plants bounced back better than expected. I didn’t intend on SuperCropping some of the branches but they snapped when I was trying to LST so I patched them up with a bandaid. I lowered the nutrients this week because I am monitoring an issue appearing in the leaf tips. I believe it’s nutrient lockout but just incase it’s nutrient burn, I want to be proactive. Anyways not much else to say this week! Be back next week :)
Lots to ramble on about this week! For starters, and to not bore you with the details, my pH pen is broken (reading my tap water at a pH of 12!) which was making the micronutrients unable to be absorbed into the plants. Fixed the problem and retested with handy-dandy pH tester droplets. Plants responded well, almost immediately! Which gave me the go ahead to top for 8 colas and LST a little more. I’ve been feeding one of the girls the recommended feeding chart from advanced nutrients and she’s looking spectacular! Anyways rant over that about sums it up for this week.
It’s a bittersweet week! The first week of flower! Woohoo! But one of my plants was showing male tendencies, oh no! I’ve been walking these ladies and fella light schedule down the past few weeks to catch things like this! Luckily so far it just looks like 1 out of 5 is a male, but the male was my beautifully mainlined plant! He was massive than the others but I guess that makes sense now. Excited for the stretch! See you all next week!
All of good this week, the plants look spectacular and are throwing out white hairs we all know and love! Light defoliation on the plants to help with airflow through the canopy. Still waiting for the stretch! See you all next week!
Another week and the plants are growing strong! Stretched about 4 inches and drank a gallon of water in the reservoirs! Bud sites developed a lot faster than I expected and some frost is already forming on the leaves. I started the week off with a small defoliation to get light deeper in the plant followed by LSTing a few branches to try continue stretching out the canopy. Plants bounced back effortlessly and are doing well! See you all next week!
Started the week off with a heavy defoliation, continued to feed similar strength nutrients. Flower stretch appears to be coming to an end. Flowers are chunking up a bit! See you all next week!
Hey everyone! Week 5 is here and the flowers are starting to look oh so good! Plants didn’t grow in height but are beginning to stack! The smell is getting stronger and resembles a sort of fruity zest, kinda makes me think of the smarties candy. Frost is picking up speed too! Excited for the next couple of weeks!
Wow! Is all I have to say this week! Started it off with a day 41 leaf strip and it left my hands extremely sticky! Arthritis stuck! Buds are fattening up and abundant all over the plants, light penetration is perfecto! Starting to get difficult to watch these girls grow! I just want to smoke them! Smell is stronger this week! Had to turn on the carbon filter! Reminiscent of fruity pebbles or a fruit dough if you will! See you all next week!
Not much to make note of this week! I’m kind of just patiently waiting to give these ladies the cut! Flowers are fattening up nicely, expected more full colas but I’m not complaining. The smell is extremely sweet, almost if you didn’t know any better you’d think it was a berry field. Really taking after the strawberry diesel genetics more than the purple diesel, other than a few purple segmented stems. nutrient burns on several leaves but not something I’m particularly concerned with, all is good!
Still just patiently waiting! Plants smell great, leaves are beginning to fade and trichomes are turning milkier! It’s a waiting game from here on out. Added a late bloom booster (AN Overdrive) will keep an eye on if it throws more pistols! That’s pretty much it for this week! We’re in the endgame now! Woohoo!
The coveted week 9 is here! I am beyond excited for the chop! Trichomes are milky with a few beginning to turn amber! The plants smell so sweet, and are extremely sticky. Just going to push through this week and do a short flush and then they’ll be ready to dry and cure!
Hey everyone! The time has come! Harvest day! Just do a short flush for a couple of days and then I’ll chop down the rest of the girls! I cut one down already because it was fading a lot faster than any of the others! I am beyond stoked to try out this bud!
This purple-strawberry diesel cross was made by some local deadhead who’s strawberry diesel plant hermied resulting in a cross between purple and strawberry diesel. Obviously from the jump the genetics aren’t really top notch and the plants began growing rather slowly, only really picking up speed towards flower transition. The plants really did surprise me with how amazing the smell was! It’s so fruity with that end note of gasoline. Smell is something I was really trying to bring out this grow and I feel as though I accomplished that. Nodes spacing was leggier than I expected and I just wish the colas would have been more complete. But none the less it was fun to grow something out of my comfort zone. Going forward I’ll be using more Strains bought from renowned breeders!
