decided to make a diary for the 8 ball kush as it won't be Harvested with the auto. it's doing really well and I can't wait to start testing out some training methods.
it's doing well with the room conditions so far. seems to be growing in the same way as the auto but I guess that's down to my set up and I haven't trained this plant as I don't feel confident yet... I might try topping or FIMing though.
this bitch got an upgrade to a 20lt smart pot that's bigger than her sisters! she loves her final home and doesn't seem to mind me pulling her top off ;) she had a water and feed about half hour after the transplant and she's responding well. not 100% sure how my pinching will affect her in the long term but if she isn't dead then it can't be all bad. let me know what you think! Untill next week ladies and gentlemen.
she's ticking along nicely in the background while her big sister takes the spot light. pretty sure she's got 3 tops now from when I topped her.. she will be getting trimmed next week and put into flower, that's riding on my extra led to turn up so I can have her in a different room than her bigger sis as the times will be different. she'll be put on 12/12.
pinched the 3 tops I think it was the right think to do and im trimming the leaves where necessary next week.
she got trimmed to within an inch of her life last night as i though why the fuck not lol I think she will grow up to be a big girl. feeding 1.4 litre every1/2 days with 4ml A and 4 mil B nothing more to report as she's quietly waiting for her time in the spot light once the auto is out of the way.
forgot to mention I have seen white spots on the leaves of the 8 ball and thats got me worried that it will spread to my blue cheese! I have cut all the affected leaves off and left it as you see in the picture. it was going to be trimmed up anyway but seeing the while mold is scaring me. hopefully it's okay as so far I haven't had problems apart from the leaves going abit funny but that isn't a problem for me. anyone let me know if can do anything as both of them have been trimmed and they have open wounds to get infections or something
not really sure with her anymore... I don't know what to expect or what my next move is with her. maybe 2 weeks more veg then flower... I have bought some used grow stuff off ebay. got 2 dr60 tents and some other little bits. i might put her in the tent with the small led light and set her on flower next week but im just not sure yet. she's still just ticking over with out much direct light. get involved everyone! I'll take the best suggestion and use it with her going forward...
she's in the tent with her big sis and she's happy for more light. I modified the small led panel for more watts and I got it from 9watt actual up to 45watt actual and the led board is rated at 40watt. cooling is needed.
Growth had occurred slowish but I expect that to change once she's got the tent to herself, I don't think she's getting much taller, we will see.
the light schedule has flipped to 12/12 as the auto is nearly done and i want this one to start budding :D
the second led panel cost £24 in total but I used my own spare heat sink and a Xbox 360 cooling fan from my spares bin to cool it (better at cooling LEDs than a Xbox LOL) , the 50w driver I used can be bought as a set with a cob and the driver to match for around £5 but the led cob are completely shit so im just using the driver :)
something has left holes in one of the older leaves, I think it happened a while back but I haven't seen anymore holes so I guess it's just that one.
neglected to update for 2 weeks but she's still ticking over.
I decided to take some of what I've learnt with the cheese and not drown her in food so much. i defoliated and tied her to the pot to keep her relatively flat and under control so fingers crossed ill get a more flat level tops and push the stretch out the sides, rather than straight up. I think she's doing great considering shes been the side hoe this long and the cheese has been hogging the main light.
she's been on 12/12 for a week and a half I think.
next week she's full throttle once her big sis has flown the nest ;)
she's kicked into top gear now that her older sister is out of the way. she's loving the extra light and seems to be happy with the every 2 days I water and feed with the above but I have upped her intake to 4mil coco grow a&b and 3mil bloom a&b so I'll see if she's okay with that but so far she looks in better condition no burn on the leaves at all but some slight tacoing perhaps but in not worried about that yet.... holy crap as Im writing this I've noticed some small bugs on her leaves!! I cut them off. I really hope I can fix it and no bugs are in my cheese :/
backed off the nutrients as Im not making that mistake again. I really messed up my first grow with the feeding. I thought I try her with some top max too see how she responds and no big bud for this feed. she is getting there not going to be a big yeild but what she does give should be very nice
she's beefed up abit since last week and is doing okay. the edges of her leaves are curlying up and look sharp so I'll look into why that is. I gave her just water twice this week as I felt she might like it and it would give her a little flush as well. nutrients will be added again tomorrow but only at the quantity you see here.
she's fattening up reasonably well and her hairs are turning brown :P I can see brown spots on each bud site near the tops on 1/2 leafs . you can see it in the pics and I don't know what's causing it, I'll keep an eye on it and hope its nothing. she smells very nice, almost like bubble gum. after touching her leaves I just love to smell my hand as she leaves the smell stuck to me. she's very sticky. only a few weeks left I'd assume we will see.
I've been using the top max for the last 4 waterings and I'm my opinion the buds are fattening up somewhat. she's nearly ready for harvest and she looks really nice I think :)
Little plants can still yeild a good amount of weed. I kept her small from worry about space but to be honest I could have grown her it bigger as I have more space than I thought but hindsight is 20/20. I'll run her again no problem but I'll grow her to a shape simlar to this one while not cutting off so much of her.
Thanks for following guys and girls.
Remember to check out my new grows!
Take care and peace out.
Thank for the kind words bro, this harvest turned out nicer than my first so fingers crossed my new ones will be dank :) I like what your doing over on your page, all love man ✌️
hey buddy it seems like your humidity needs to be lowerd or get more airflow into your room that's what's causing the brown and possible to create mould on the buds
man I hope it's not the start of bud rot :/ I don't really have anything to lower the humidity. I've started leaving the top of the tent unzipped as I thought it might be due to low airflow. she's not far off now so I really don't want something fucking it up lol. thanks for the advice :)
I did write a whole thing about the growing and smoking experience but it doesn't save so I re wrote it 4 times now but still it doesn't save. Long story short it's a good strain I like the smoke and I'll definitely grow her again
I'm having so much fun! I thought it would be stressful and mentality draining but I'm loving it and I wonder why I didn't start when I first thought about it 6 years ago!
