So trying to start this new grow prior to my last grow being finished. Maybe a week left of flower. I’m just going to leave these 5 plants on my kitchen table with the lights until I can put in my tent. Unfortunately only have 1 tent/light. and good for me seedling shouldn’t need much light anyways. So trying to get a nice head start on this next batch. So just started seedlings 24 hr light with my kitchen lights expecting current flower in tent to be finished next few days buds very compacted.

So after calibrating ph meter been off by almost full point reading. Grabbed some distilled water got it nice and acidic and trailed 2 plants. To see if growth and overall health continued did check runoff to be slightly high. Lots of temp fluctuations continue to reck havack in apartment where airflow is hard to come by. But gettin nack for summer to get a sustainable temp. Have this autoflower present so will continue veg for everything else until we get some size. Or other tent set up

New meter is definitely fixing issues. Unreal. Wasted time. Any who all that time isn’t wasted. Able to pull root bulb put some more coconut peat in bottom to fill 5 gallons completely. Was pretty compact. Sure this will help for flowering and increasing size. Letting roots attach to new medium and probably be ready for flower should be fun to see the growth now that I am back on track. Getting other tent installed shortly

Inoculated co2 bag so hopefully get some gas forming soon. Losing my mind over these sub par ph meters. I work in a chemical lab you would figure I’d have some nice equipment. Nah. Spend up for your meter. So you don’t need to calibrate or replace it ever flippin week. Anyways plants are growing. Developed minor burn from ph impalance, whatever. Going to Arizona for 5 day hoping I can get away with just drenching everyone and some poked water bottles.

Day 28 of flower roughly. Officially turned into a gas chamber. Chopped the auto/drying. Have it on a flat surface so you can figure buds looks flat lol. Dry trimming that…. So finally recieved my new awesome ph instrument. My gosh it is just as good as blue labs at work. Got my storing solution (potassium chloride) it should be, but I spoke with chemist as work and said 4 ph buffer solution works perfect (which meter usually comes with free of charge) and I believe that solution is (potassium silicate) he said which you want submerged in something slightly acidic for electrode storage. Unless you like replacing your meter and fucking your plants up like me. So should have this one for the long run. And get the ph Straight again before deep flowering. I’ve been getting by with strips lol. they suck

Approximately day 35 of flower. Runoff test was 5.5 with distilled water. I nute burned the shit out of them with 1700 ppm water. I misread meter. Have some blue hues coming in. Hope for some size in next few weeks now ph is slightly low at 5.5 going to start raising to 6 for final weeks for hardening. Aswell lower lights. Is the damage done? Hopefully not

Day 45 since light switch to 12/12. Leaf damages on top foliage, with cal mag deficiency or lockout. Flushed and re-fed nutrient 1-35-35 …Not effecting buds too much. Starting to swell, ph at 6. Sativa on the left is going to take awhile it looks like. Nice resin production on everything. Been playing with the lights moving side to side or tilting. Garlic cheese, Apple fritter, jelly rancher, and some mystery strain from a fellow local west suburban Chicagoland basement grower producing professional top shelf buds.

Day 53 of switch to 12/12. Any day lowered lights, so close to the even canopy. They want that light. Sacrificing some light on the tall slow sativa. Lowered tds to trace tap water minerals may flush further with distilled for this final week of swelling. Don’t forget to smoke your fuckin greens!

Day 63 of flower, Minor blemishes and naners on a few buds. Definitely from the light being so close for this final week. Buds looks/feel very dense. 2 carmels still show new pistils and swelling calyx. The green poison, which you my notice is out of the trellis. Has been doing a 24hr dark period before harvest in a well vented storage closet . Drenched medium prior. Lots of resin production accompanied by heavy gas/fruit Oder. All other plants moving Close to the finish line. Looks like a light upgrade surely will pay off. Very pleased so far!

For getting pushed to the side this plant showed great response to training. Dry temps in my apartment make drying go quickly(unfortunately) what I’ve done last few batches worked well. Dry at 40% rh for 3-5 days in closet (whole plant dry Trim) then clip buds individually and trim larf and bs. Place in paper bag for few days with 62% packs. Also produced an all purple plant, budss are coated with resin and light hues! Such a great smoke, great joint weed, rolls up so nice and soft. Perfect density. 10/10. way better than what they give ya at the dispensary!

Day ~75 of flower cut #1 carmel on day 69😩 It dried for 5 days now paper bagging. Scents of caramel candy. Adding some additional growth on what’s remaining. Light is on top of plants nearly touching. Had lights off for 48 hrs removed single plant, removed trellis as gently as possible. flipped lights on to 11/13 for last few days, still seeing a lot of new growth and so much resin production caking on it. Watering with cold water it’s a wrap soon. Stress prolonged my grow. Just to clear the air… those are all plastic hangers I was using as raisers by methodically stacking about 30 of them. My women was wondering why there isn’t any left in the closet 🤫

that's a beautiful garden you got their 💚 wish you the biggest harvest and most tasteful buds ever growmie🌈🍻 About the PH meter electrode...so do I understand it right that it's ok to store the electrode in a leftover of the PH buffer that I got from calibrating it ? I'm actually doing that for years now but curious if it's an acceptable methood 🤔
Swanberg
Swanbergcommented3 years ago
@Metatronix, hell ya dawg definitely a good choice. Save money and hassle of inaccurate testing, leading to imbalances. We are sick of it!
Metatronix
Metatronixcommented3 years ago
@Swanberg, Thanks for the advice i really appreciate it. It's funny that yesterday my PH electrode did get bonkers, it's my second electrode in 7 years so 42 months of life expectancy for one is not a bad result considering that i don't store them in any special liquid except the buffer.
Swanberg
Swanbergcommented3 years ago
@Metatronix, thanks friend :) 💚but yes slightly acidic is better conductivity so the lower buffer solution (4 range) basically most potassium based solution is 100% acceptable to preserve electrode. Make sure to knock off whatever rinse water. I’m sure over time it’ll collect if you don’t replace solution every so often. But yeah at work ours last for years and we test some very hazardous things.

Hey there friend. Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. Also, I know cannabis plants CAN grow under 24/7 although it is not ideal based on their genetic function. Cannabis plants photosynthesize when the lights are on and store up energy for growth from the breakdown of nutrients during photosynthesis, Then use that energy to do the majority of their growth during the lights off cycle. For this reason, I recommend a minimum of 20/4. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1 This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. If this interests you please check out our youtube and subscribe. The first 2 episodes are out the next one is coming in a few days. If you should ever have any questions or need any help, Please feel free to follow my profile and shoot me a DM. I will gladly help you with the pull down & make sure you get the best quality harvest possible as it is the most important step of the entire process. I really think you would benefit from our tutorial series on youtube, Our channel is linked off our main grow diaries profile. We just put up week 3 of plant life care so you got time to subscribe and catch up before the next episode is out! I look forward to seeing you over there and hearing your feedback to better help me shape the tutorials Happy growing friend!
