Timeline:
2/19/2022 - first day of germination.
2/21/2022 - the white taproot has emerged. I planted the seed in it's final 3 gallon pot and placed it under my seedling light.
2/23/2022 - she has sprouted! February 23rd is officially her birthday. Let the growing commence!
Hey everyone! The Dark Devil baby has had a good first week. As usual I started her under my 30w led seedling light and moved her into the tent after about 5 days. I am using Real Growers Recharge for the first time and she received her first watering with it on day 5. I've heard excellent things about Recharge and I'm very excited to see the results.
Everything is looking good so far. Thanks for stopping by and see you next week!
I moved her into my 3x3 tent with several other plants this week. I have the SE5000 set to 80% power and hanging 30 inches away and so far she has handled the increase in light intensity like a champ! I gave her another watering with Recharge this week but no nutrients yet. I'll probably wait one more week before starting with a light feeding of veg nutes.
Thanks for checking out my diary!
Another strong week for the Dark Devil. I've continued with the Recharge and also gave her some cal-mag this week. I plan to top her later today. Tune in next week to see how she handled it.
I've been very impressed with how well this plant has responded to both topping and LST. Neither has seemed to slow her down at all. I tied her branches down this week and did quite a bit of leaf tucking to expose the bud sites. She has responded incredibly well to all of it and all of her branches have already started growing back up towards the light and are almost even with the rest of the canopy again..
She received her first feeding this week. Just a light dose of veg nutes. I've heard from a few people that this particular strain is fairly sensitive to nutrients so I'm going to continue with light feedings for now. I anticipate her starting to flower soon, likely sometime in the next week. For now I will continue to adjust her branches and tuck leaves in hopes of achieving a perfectly even canopy.
Thanks for checking out my diary!
She stretched a lot this week. She nearly doubled in height! Flowering is well underway and so far she appears to be progressing quickly. I can already see the deep, dark purple that this strain is famous for.
I continued doing some more LST this week. Mostly I’ve just been readjusting the branches and re-tying them down to expose the lower bud sites to the light. Her smell has become quite noticeable as well over the past week.
I upped the veg nutes to 1/4 strength and and she appears to have handled the increase just fine. I have also continued giving her recharge with every watering. Tonight I will be giving her her first feeding of bloom nutes.
Another strong week! She was looking a little hungry so I raised the nutes and she seems to have handled it just fine. She’s moving very fast. I’m going to guess that she’ll be done at around the 75 day mark.
I’m super impressed with how fast the flowers are progressing. Of all the autos I have grown I’ve never had buds this big and this dense so early on in the plant’s life. It’s pretty awesome!
Her leaves are still yellowing and don’t look quite right but they don’t appear to be getting any worse at this point so I’m not overly concerned about it. Since the buds seem to be doing so well I am just going to keep doing what I’m doing.
Her buds are a deep purple and super dense and sticky. They smell incredibly citrusy almost like a freshly sliced orange.
To say the colors on this plant are beautiful would be an understatement. Her buds are big, dense, sticky and stank of sweet citrus and diesel. I’m super impressed with how fast the buds are fattening up. It’s only day 56 and already they’re huge and dense. The only downside is that I only grew one of these plants!!
I’m thinking she will probably need another 3 weeks (give or take a few days) before she is ready for harvest. I seriously cannot wait!
Not much to say other than these buds are fattening up like they eat at McDonald’s three times a day! I’ve continued giving them bloom and boost nutes but I’ve dropped the calmag and recharge. I think she needs about two more weeks before she’ll be ready to harvest. I’ll probably chop the top colas first and leave the lowers for an extra week when the time comes.
This strain grew very quickly. It started flowering after about 4 weeks and was ready for harvest after 73 days. She foxtailed a lot but I’ve heard that is common with this strain.
Her buds are nice and frosty. That, combined with her dark purple colors, makes for wonderful bag appeal. The buds aren’t super dense which I believe was due to the foxtailing, but it tastes great and the effects are nice and mellow - a perfect daytime smoke.
