Just watered up to day 25 (the next week) with recharge. Probably should've started Cal-mag around wk5 but no issues up to that point. First time I top-dressed a 3g- super impressed and super easy.
Changed top-dressing up to more bloom than veg, and cut out worm castings. This is def when I should have hit her with Cal-Mag every water- but didn't. Still an effortless grow- that 2nd top-dress was on Day 40.
The stretch is ON! What a joy of a strain to grow, and these DtE amendments were supposed to be a 1-off before I tried the Flora line but man this is easy and the plants are so damn healthy every time. Cheap too!
Another final? top-dressing the first day of Wk8. Swapped in Fish Bone Meal (first time using it). Stacking so much I can't wait to see the final product.
Dream grow. Cal-Mag issues but this is only my 2nd grow with DtE and I'll be sure to introduce it into every water in Wk5 next time. Good luck with yours! I usually wait until I'm into flower to even start a diary so - sorry about the missing info. Dm me if you have any questions!
Top-dressed at the start of Wk 10. Day 64 here. Cal-Mag issues have continued but hopefully learned my lesson.
EDIT: actually check out my grow question. The spots and yellowing spread quickly by the end of wk 10 - I'm thinking it may be the last top-dress or something lacking in the last 2 top-dressing. I cut 4-4-4 out and added Fish Bone Meal to DtE 484. Any help would be much appreciated!
I thought I'd go with DtE dry amendments after having my own 3-way experiment with DtE in one corner, Flora Series, in the other, and 3-4 runs last year with FF trio. But even i the Flora series, I'm seeing very green healthy growth until about week 8-9 then complications. 24hr light could be a little close, but I'm about to swap in a MH FC-e4800 so if that's a problem the solution is sitting in a box in my shed, but I don't think it's the light, or even the 24/7 sched.
No matter what I go with for my new girls (1xStrawberry Nuggets and 1x3BOG) I'm thinking I need to amend the Coco Loco more with Worm Castings, Kelp, and maybe Oyster Shell after this next run.
Again, until weeks 7-8 I typically have great grows, very green and healthy, praying leaves, etc. Thanks in advance for any advice.
My 10wk old Auto Trainwreck started showing brown spots and yellow tips @ wk 8-9 but even after up'ing Calmag to each water wk 8 (1tsp/gal) it's everywhere now.
It's been 75-50% the whole time- deficiency in late flower? Again big THX to the community - for more than just this.
yes its best to mix in the amendments when your top dressing. I ruff up the top later of the pot and get them in that way. I also water slowly and with a wand that kinda mists it out. if it still hard and clumping together I will stab it with some sticks to help break it up. or add a layer of soil on top of it so its always moist and not drying out and getting chunky.
4-4-4 is great in veg and 4-8-4 should be good in flower. I like to see the potassium and phosphorous reach equal numbers ideally but have seen good grows off of something like what your using. I use Gaia Green "ucann" line and their products are 5-4-5 for grow and 2-7-7 for bloom, Gaia has since discontuniend this lineup for some reason. :( I plan on supplementing with seaweed 0-0-16 to get the extra potassium in flower next run when I go back to 4-4-4 grow & 2-8-4 powerbloom.
Glad to hear you will give them a down time next run, I find it can help solve a lot of little issues and make they shine :D
