200W LED light
Photo taken within week 8 of veg.
Topped at week 2,
I’ve done lots of lst to get to this stage, bending the plant down and constantly re tieing branches to keep a even canopy.
I have also done kushman’s Chiropractic to all branches. HUGE difference once I did this, the stem and branches bulked up almost doubling their size 3 days after doing so.
Also, since this is in my cupboard and I only have fresh ventilation when I open the door during the day. I’ve been struggling with high humidity witch I know will be a problem with this strain.
I have a dehumidifier on the way, hoping to solve my problems !
Day 67 of veg - ( 3 days before week 10 completion )
On exactly the end of week 9 I added my 300W flowering light. Decided to also keep my 200w LED on for the flowering process.
Tied down main branches to even the canopy,
Huge defoliation in preparation to swap her into flower tonight.
I will be starting to add 1Ml per L of emerald harvests ‘bloom booster’ to my watering tank.
I haven’t done anything to the plant itself, just letting it adjust going into flower.
Unfortunately We had a really hot and humid week here. Temps in my grow room were upto 30 Degrees light on.
And 27-29 Degrees lights off.
And the humidity was okay with lights on, around 50-65%
But with the lights off, it rose upto 75-80% as I don’t have ventilation in my cupboard.
I got a dehumidifier, it helps with the humidity, but the room got to over 33 Degrees in under a hour. I suppose I’ll just save the dehumidifier for when it’s winter.
Does anyone have any ideas of what I can do to get temps and humidity down without putting a hole in the roof ? There’s definitely not enough room for a proper AC either.
Also, I haven’t seen to much of a stretch yet, from my research this could be due to my temps not dropping overnight.
Am I correct ?
This past week I’ve added king kola to my nutrients mix, 1Ml per L.
Tomorrow, the start of week 2 of flower. I swap my base nutrients over from Cali Pro grow - to the Bloom
Going good !
Last tie down on day 9 to level the canopy.
Gave her a big de node on day 11, didn’t stress the plant at all, stretching up a lot.
Swapped nutrients over to bloom, as well as upping all the other nutrients, as per emerald harvest schedule.
Took clones a while back when it was in veg. They did not do well in the heat the other week. I think 1 might be okay.
Took off a fair amount of the fan leaves off on day 20 to open up the plant to let more bud sites get direct light.
Looking really nice, didn’t stretch as much as I though it would. I think that’s because my temps have been a tad bit high. ( I’ve seen most people with the same strain get up to x3 their size in flower )
Week 4 completed.
At the start of the week I did another tie down to spread all the branches evenly apart.
Smell is starting to develop but only lightly.
I GOT SPIDER MITES :(
4 days ago I found some spider mites, I took off every single leaf I found them on.
I sprayed the air and area with neem oil as I couldn’t spray my actual flowers.
I keep finding a few every day, and keep on removing the leafs. Very unsure of what else I can do other than keep spraying my neem oil. Any ideas ?
Also, please see my last 2 pictures. Those pointy ball looking things - is my plant a Hermaphrodite ?
There all over the plant below other buds, but they have hairs coming out of them, and definitely pointy so I’m unsure if they are pollen sacks or not ??
Thanks for looking, some help would be awesome 😃
Other than that, I think things are progressing well.
Vertical growth has definitely stopped, buds starting to develop and getting bigger everyday.
Almost certain I’ve got rid of all the spider mites, I still check everyday. And just taking leaves off that they are on. Haven’t found any in a few days now. Seems to be a good sign.
Not much happening this week. Lots more tricomes compared to the last week.
Not much growth from what I can see, hope I haven’t been doing anything wrong. From what I can see from other people growing this strain - my flowering growth has been a lot smaller than usual.
Day 58 (26.04.22)
Buds have gotten substantially bigger in this last week.
Trichomes are looking really milky, and I’m wanting to harvest within this next coming week as I’m going away shortly and want the drying process to be done first.
Giving the plant straight Ph water as of day 55.
Dry harvested weight was 110 grams.
Very decent sized buds and not many popcorn nug.
The smoke is really energetic being 100% sativa. So unlike anything I’ve smoked before.
Those are not hermie features, they are calyxes. It sucks you got spider mites mid flower, you can still try spraying an IPM solution, but it can affect taste. You can also try predator mites. Good luck my friend!
@johdlong, great thanks man that’s good to hear 😅 was getting a little worried.
And yes I’ve read lots about sprays but I really don’t want to effect the taste. I was thinking of maybe getting some ladybugs, a few mites just keep seeming to pop up everyday
Nice training!
I have a question... What do you top your soil with? It almost looks like a coarse sand or clay & why?
I love looking at the variety of grow ideas, both watching & learning new techniques.
@Joshgrowsweed, I had gnats one time (accidently brought them in from outdoor leaf mulch) I put diatomaceous earth fully dusted on the top layer of dry soil & they were gone. I got it on Amazon (Harris Diatomaceous Earth $12.99)
@cheetah844,
Hey, thank you !
It’s a mix of sand and other things not sure exactly what. First time I’ve used it, it’s a ‘gnat barrier’
Saw it randomly at my local hardware store and figured I’d give it a try.
Definitely does something but didn’t Solve my problems that’s for sure.
I think next time I’ll just use a layer of small rocks/pebbles.
Beauty grow brotha and good choice on nutrients ( that's my second fav of all line since ever tried .. . Simple and effective and good and clean .. you did amazing training her !!good work
It was amazing what you did! For the first time it's great!!! Even for a old grower.
How was the drying process and curing?
Ps. You did put 110g WET, change to dry.
@Psilocubensis,
Oh cheers I’ll change that.
And thank you so much !
Cured them for 3 weeks, drying it was a bit difficult because of high temps and humidity.
But I just had a proper drying rack and lots of airflow. Had to brake down the buds into little nugs too, sucks I couldn’t leave them as big as that photo
