First run in my new apartment! I put a small 40x40cm (16x16inches) tent inside my wardrobe and have a fan pulling air from up in the attic, blowing it through and old charcoal filter, hopefully it will keep the stank down once this Black Jack CBD gets going. Soaked seed in water for 12h. After that I put it in a wet paper towel in a plastic bag hung inside my bathroom cabinet for two days. Once the seed popped out the taproot I transplanted it to a Root!t cube and into a makeshift mini DWC setup inside the tent.

First week went good, cotyledons came out after a couple of days since putting the germinated seed in the simple DWC system. Small makeshift system to easier adjust height to light, nutrient and water level etc. Kept her at the bottom of the tent (6k lux) for the first 5 days, before moving her up a little bit (16k lux). She had then started developing serrated leaves. That's when I started giving her a light feed. Still no taproot showing under the net pot, but it'll come.

Transplanted to final home! Minor nutrient issues, but new growth looks healthy. Struggling to keep the humidity high, we have really dry air here in the winter. I think the growth could have been faster if I got that under control. I also have the air pump only running at daytime, which I also believe have a negative effect on growth rate. Plenty of roots have reached the nutrient solution now, so I'm just waiting for it take off!

Looking healthy. The first set of proper leaves indicate some deficiencies, but it looks like its grown out of it. Having trouble controlling the humidity, the air is very dry here, some days 25% RH! So it gets very dry when I leave it for some days, and I think that is why its not growing faster. PH is pretty stable, slowly goes up over the course of some days.

Wohoo, good growth this week! My girlfriend has been kind enough to baby it a little while I've been away the last week, spraying it with water every day and keeping the humidity high. Started LST, I'm tempted to top it. Unfortunately I have a time frame for this grow, it has to be done by end of june/early july, and I'm afraid it will add some veg time. Any thoughts on this? I have only LST'ed before. It's about to take off now, growth is accelerating. UPDATE: Decided to top it! Trying to focus more energy on the lower shoots to grow the plant symmetrical across the whole canopy. It took the topping like a champ. Getting more aggressive with the LST as well. As I'm working with a limited space I feel like topping and aggressive LST is the way to go, especially in hydro when the plant is so healthy and vigorous. Also bumped up the feed from EC 0.8 to 1.2. It's growing like crazy now, I think it'll fill the whole canopy space within 2 weeks. Once it covers the whole bucket I'll flip to flower.

Accidental topping! After being away from the plant for three days I came back to what looked like a healthy plant. Upon inspection I saw that the plant had wrestled it's head off! I had tied it pretty hard down the last week, but the plant, in its effort to stand up straight was so strong that it had broken it's main shoot right off. The wound was already hard and healed, barely hanging on, so I decided to remove it and use it as a clone. This will give me time to veg a nice plant while this one flowers. I have a pretty tight time schedule for this grow, so this accidental topping will set it back a little and I won't have the time to veg the plant for as long as I would like to fill out the grow space as much as I'd like, unfortunately. But I'd rather flower it early and have a smaller plant than veg it for longer and harvest earlier than I'd like. Going to continue LST'ing and leaf tucking to encourage all the nodes to reach the canopy. I'll switch to flower sometime next week. Other than that the plant looks healthy, I'm going away for work for 4 days so I'm excited to see how it looks when I get back!

Came home to the plant after 3 days of absence. It was looking very healthy, so I did another round of LST and did my first round of defoliation before flipping the light schedule to 12/12. Flowering here we go! I'm gonna continue removing leaves that are blocking bud sites for the at least the first three weeks of flowering. I want to schwazz it properly after it is done stretching and forming bud sites. EC is dropping, which means that it is using more nutes than it is drinking water. I will up the feed a little bit to 1.5. Starting to get exciting! EDIT: Turns out I fucked up and put the timer on 15 on, 9 off. Which means it was still vegging at this stage.

Second week of flower! Doing some minor defoliation and supercropping/LST as we go through the stretch., plant is looking healthy and is growing faster and faster. I am quite happy with the structure of the plant, loads of smaller nodes are now reaching the canopy. It is starting to drink a lot more. I upped the feed to 1.7. Still using veg nutes, although I added slightly more phosphorus and potassium than nitrogen to promote flowering. (2-part fertilizer) EDIT: Turns out I fucked up and put the timer on 15 on, 9 off. Which means it was still vegging at this point.

Week 8! So it turns out I fucked up earlier and had 15 hours of light and 9 hours of dark, instead of 12/12. So I just flipped to flower now. Finger crossed I can flower it out as long as I want before leaving for a holiday in about 12 weeks. Took some leaves off it and supercropped some branches. Will continue supercropping and defoliating. Trying to bend the main shoots all the way out to the side of the tent to allow growth nodes towards the middle of the plant to reach the canopy.

Week 2 of flowering! I came home from 3 days away and the plant had stretched quite a bit and was looking healthy. Still not showing sex. Since I am leaving for 5 days this week, I decided to do the lollipopping technique before leaving. I probably took about half of the plant of, tons of small shoots and leaves. Trying to stay on top of things to get a good structure on the plant, and have all the tops reaching the canopy or close to it. I keep topping up the reservoir, I have only done complete reservoir changes. I'll do a last res change and sterilization when the stretch is done. I think I'll install a net when the stretch is over to expose and space out all the tops. Probably in about a week or two. I'm leaving the plant to grow on it's own now, stay tuned for an update next week!

Week 11! After not being able to look after it much for a couple of weeks the plant has stretched out of control! Leaving it alone to grow unsupervised during the stretch was not optimal. The plant had grown way to close to the lights. I did a another major defoliation, some supercropping to reduce the height of the plant and installed a trellis net to try to get things under control. I also did a complete res clean when I had the plant out of the tent. Switched to flower nutes. This was probably the last time the plant is out of the tent until chop time. My plan was to grow a pretty symmetrical plant, but that went out the door after leaving it for the stretch. The leaves are pretty narrow, expressing some sativa genetics. It has tripled in height during the stretch. I still hope it will be ripe for harvesting in 7 weeks for now, but I'm not too optimistic about it. Growing in such a small space is a challenge for sure. Had major problems installing the net and placing the branches evenly across the canopy. Oh well, still hope I'm gonna get some good bud!

Week 5 of flower! Did some defoliation and some more supercropping to bring the height down, as I measured 70k lux at the canopy (a little too much). Buds are stacking nicely now, it's on cruise control from here on out. Just gonna let the plant do its thing.

Week 13! Finally starting to look like proper buds! And smells like it too! The plant has finally started to fill in, looking forward to seeing this finished. Looking like about another 4 weeks, give or take Took some fan leaves off that were blocking bud sites. pH is slowly rising through flower.

Week 14! I am starting to get really excited about this plant! She is plumping up and producing a lot of trichomes! Smell is very enjoyable. Fruity, sweet and lemony are smells that come to mind. Doing minor defoliation if I see leaves shading buds.

Week 16! Week 8 of flowering. She is foxtailing on the topmost buds due to light stress. I measured 90k lux(!) at some buds, which is way too much (she got a little out of hand during the stretch, and grew way too tall) She is drinking less and less water and eating less nutrients. I think she is in the harvest window now, even though she is sprouting lots of new pistils. I will cut down and hang to dry next week, in about 5/6 days. Excited!! EDIT: BANANA ALARM Found a banana. There is probably more of them that I can't see because the lower canopy is so packed. Unsure if to harvest now or not. As it is late in flower I don't know if quality will suffer because of a few more days with herming. Opinions? EDIT II: BUD ROT As I inspected the plant today I saw a dead leaf on one of the tops, which I was able to pull right off. Turned out there was bud rot inside the bud. I cut the bud off. Will harvest later today or tomorrow.

I found a banana. I plucked it but there are probably more of them that I can't reach/see. Should I chop immediately or can I give her another 6 days? Don't know if the quality will suffer by possibly herming for 6 days.

If you are going to harvest in 6 days, slight or even full on herming won't make any difference at this stage. It will not affect yields or potency in the slightest. Even if any pollen is released, seeds take 2-3 weeks before they even become noticeable and 4-5 weeks to mature, so 6 days will not matter at all. Hope this helps, Organoman.

The grow went pretty good! It sort of got out of hand during the stretch, and stretched way more than I wish it would. Top buds had some light stress at the end. One cola got mold the day before chop. Easy strain to grow, though the stretch really was too much for my little tent. Will update further once it is finished drying and curing.
