Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week9 of veg.
Still trying to sex these plants.
This one plant has stopped me for a week from moving forward. It has been my experience in the past that a male plant can throw up some female looking growths which turn out to be little leaves and no
white stigmas. So all the males will go out to the greenhouse tomorrow as well the 4 females will be repotted and training will start.
Over the next 4 weeks I'll be checking out the males and picking out 1 to gather pollen from. What I'm looking for is most resinous, most smelly and more bushy than tall.
At this point with the females 3 of them look more sativa than indica so I'll put 4 plants in this tent and hope they don't stretch out too much.
I've decided to add a book to entertain you people who look in on me ๐
It's a book that We had around when I was a teen and smoking lots of smuggled in landrace stuff. It even helped us with our first outdoor grows.
This book was published in 1970, that makes it 52 years old. I looked it up on line and its selling on Amazon for $150. USD. Mine is not worth that much because someone ripped out page 9 and 10 and clipped the top 1/3 off page 81. Piss me off. But I will still show what I have. It's a fun read and lots of great growing tips starting on page 26. So don't get too bored with the first part it good in the end.
OK. Have fun. Chuck.
@Ringo, Thanks Buddy. I guess I forgot to change my hours in the diary. I edited it now. Got to look my best if I'm going to win some cannabis stuff. Thanks again. Chuck.
@Ringo, Hello. I had switched the light to 12.5 hours of light and 11.5 hours of dark at the start of flowering. When I first started growing indoors, the Dutch growers, wouldn't include the first 2 weeks of flowering because you couldn't see any flowers. They would put down 6 to 7 weeks flowering and when we flowered them, they took 8 to 9 weeks to finish. I think everyone does it the same now. Except for autos, they flower a little different. And the stretching is a result of forced flowering. Plants grown outside don't stretch as much but they can start to flower at 14 to15 hours of daylight. That is the main reason we grow in veg at 18 hours of light and force flower at around 12 hours of light. Chuck.
@Drgreen13, I was at a Cannabis Conference in Victoria B.C. Canada in the spring and Remo was there and gave away some Mini Supercharged Kits when it was his turn at the workshop I was taking. He gave 1 to each person and had some kits left at the end of his talk and said if anybody wants another come up and get it. I was out of my seat fast!!!. I ended up with 3 kits and forgot my bus pass and had to walk 5 K home with 6.5 kilos of nutrient solution on my back. But it was free!!! There's another conference in a week at Niagara falls. Check out the web site. growupconference.com Chuck.
@Chucky324, HO HO HO๐๐. Thank you, I'm definitely not much, but I'm trying, only when a person knows a lot, only then does he realize how much he knows nothing. I think that a name would suit you better, you have maybe 5-6x more years of experience or more, I got the idea for a name a long time ago, but only now have I decided. Good luck with your growing man. ๐
@CrazyFlowers07, I got a good laugh friend. The translation said: did you cut off your head before training. And I said to myself I don't think that would work๐. I think you meant did I top them before training. Yes I did. When I HST or top I like to let the plant heal for 3 to 7 days before I do anything else. Let them heal from the stress and they usually will perform well for you. Chuck.
@Wind_Weed, Hello Friend, I think you mean why don't I repot to bigger pots. These are regular seeds and I'm sexing them right now, letting them show me which sex they are. I thought there was a lot of males at first because I was seeing a lot of little balls where the preflowers show. But happily some of them turnout to be females. I'm waiting for another plant that I thought was a male but it has thrown out some female looking flowers, but no white stigmas yet. I like to have the root balls all the same when starting a diary. It helps in comparing plants and yields at the end. So I'm waiting on 1 plant and then I'll repot and top and train the plants. Thanks for looking out for me. Chuck.
