First update on this journey. Received my RQS pack for the Grow Cannabis – Best New Year’s resolution competition 😁 Decided on Watermelon Auto 🍉🍉🍉 I've never grown this strain before but can't wait to see how this turns out. Fat Banana has been my favourite RQS strain for taste so far so hoping this might rival it!!! Started off as I usually do.. Straight into the final pot! This can pose challenges but I much prefer it to transplanting. Let's back up a bit 😂 I used the provided RQS soil plug to plant my seed.. Watermelon Auto seed that is! 😂 Filthy animals. This soil plug was put straight into my Coco which I pre watered with plain Ph'd water after adding the provided Easy Boost Organic Nutrition. I used around 75g for my 15L Fabric Pot. These pots are the best around by the way! As you can see from the first photos, this trooper is about to break ground! Friday will be day 1. Stay tuned, hopefully in around 9-10 weeks I'll have a beauty on my hands! 🙌 Thanks to Royal Queen Seeds for providing the goods! Lets go!

Week 1 As I'm writing this we are on Day 7 of this journey. Week 1 has been uneventful (in a good way). Had no problems and this Watermelon Auto seems to have taken nicely to its first two feeds. I mixed one growth booster tablet into 4 litres of water making sure it was Ph'd around 5.8 as I'm growing in Coco. Day 4 - fed 500ml of growth booster mix. Day 6 - fed 500ml of growth booster mix. Hopefully next week will bring no problems either and then week 3 I can maybe look at some low stress training. Onto next week. 🍉🍉🍉

Week 2 Great 2nd week! Good growth! I usually don't start LST in week 2, usually towards the end of week 3 but this Watermelon was definitely ready so started on day 14. Wanted to get a bit more light to the lower leaves. Never too much to report in the early weeks but I also added the RQS easy plus micronutrients to the feed this week for day 8 not realising I should have used from germination. Better late than never. On another note I went on a Birthday golf trip over the weekend so had to leave the ladies unattended for 2 days.. they were fine when I got back 🙌 Anyway hers the feeding schedule, your here for weed not golf 😂 Day 8 - fed 1.5L of growth booster mix. Day 11 - fed 2.5L of growth booster mix. Day 14 - fed 2.0L of growth booster mix. The only reason I fed a little more on day 11 than day 14 was just to make sure I got I got run off as that was the first chance. Planting straight into a 15L pot can be tricky. I didn't want to over water at first and stunt the seedling but needed to make sure I got run off to release the salts in the Coco as soon as possible. Probably could have done it on day 8 🤔 Day 14 I made a fresh batch of the growth booster mix, 1 tablet in 7 litres of water Ph'd to 5.8. 2 litres was enough on day 14 to get run off so no need to feed anymore. Onto next week.

Week 3 Another solid week. Good growth and also started to show its first pistils at day 20 🙌 will keep it on the growth booster mix for another 4-7 days and then start using the bloom booster mix. Did LST every day, gradually tying the main stem down further each time. The bottom branches are starting to grow now. Tied them down tonight. I slightly overwatered on day 16 so I left it an extra day before feeding again. Day 16 - fed 2L of growth booster mix. Day 19 - fed 1.5L of growth booster mix Day 21 - fed 2L of growth booster mix Onto next week.

Week 4 So with first pistils and pre-flower starting midway through week 3, I moved on to the bloom booster mix this week. Only took 1L before I started to get run off on day 23 so left it at that. She's getting to a good size so I don't think the 2L feed will be a problem from now on. Really happy with how this is going so far! I think next week the stretch will begin. Day 23 - fed 1L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 25 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 27 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Onto next week.

Week 5 The stretch has begun!! This watermelon is really shooting up now. I purposely didn't feed for 4 days from day 27 to 31. Pot was still really heavy so left her a couple of days to let her gobble up the goods and fed again day 31. She's getting to a good size so I don't think the 2L feed will be a problem from now on. Really happy with how this is going so far! I've been trimming away unwanted fan leaves and also some of the lower side branches that are starting to grow. Want to try pack as much into the top colas once they start to grow. I've also been gradually tying down branches all week as well. Day 31 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 33 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 35 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Onto next week.

Week 6 She's still stretching 😅 Seen more pistil growth this week around those tiny buds. Hopefully it'll stop stretching next week and start putting energy into those buds. Wasn't ready for a feed on Day 38 so left an extra day. Absolutely gutted!! Noticed my Mars Hydro TS1000 has started flickering and dimming really frequently. It's bad! Kind of p*ssing me off because they're not cheap and I've only had it just over a year. Who knows how this grow will end up now but my hopes are fading. Can't afford a new light so will have to just see how it goes. Day 39 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 41 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Onto next week.

Week 7 She seems to have stopped stretching now so must have achieved full height. Seen some brown spots and yellowing on a few leaves. I would have thought nitrogen deficiency or root rot but the roots seems fine and I'm making sure the pot dries before feeding again. I'm going to up the feed and see if she just needs a bit more. This has worked for me before. Day 43 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 45 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 47 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 49 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Onto next week.

Week 10 Taking longer than expected but it's not a race and to be honest I'm pretty happy with how I've managed to bring this back. Buds are starting to pack on nicely. Checked the trichomes and most are cloudy, some still clear. Thought about flushing but I'll probably start next week. Day 64 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 66 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 68 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Day 70 - fed 2L of bloom booster mix with micronutrients. Onto next week

A really good week this week. This Watermelon is strong mo fo. On the brink of death and it's bounced back so well in the last few weeks. Buds are fattening up nicely and are quite dense now. Checked the trichomes and we're nearly there. Started the flush on Monday so today is day 3 of the flush. Onto next week.

Week 12 So, we've come to an end on this journey. Been a rocky road but we got there in the end. Wish I didn't lose 1-2 weeks to the issue I had. Pretty sure the PH was way too low as I started using a fresh bottle and must have somehow been stronger because after testing I was coming out with PH4.5. After adjusting she really started to bloom. Another solid week, bids are looking frosty and are dense as fuck after the last 1-2 weeks of flushing. This will be getting the chop tomorrow as yesterday was the last flush. Will be updating weights etc next weekend which is when I'll enter it into the RQS comp. Fingers crossed! Hope you've enjoyed the journey as much as I have!! Onto the next one!

This strain is up there with the most flavourful!! I love my fruity, berry like strains and this one's just hits different! Fat Banana was my previous favourite RQS strain for taste but this is giving it a run! Definitely have to run this one again! Thanks to Royal Queen Seeds for running the comp and for the all the goods I needed for this grow! Thanks for checking. Catch you in the next one!
