Mimosa x Orange Punch c/o KIZ

Got the girls into the 2x4 tent this week! They look pretty happy, however the Northern Lights seems like it needs an issue fixing. The two first serrated leaves became a little discoloured and started praying vertically. Seems to be under control though. The MxOP is a tad less developed than her sister, but she’s coming along nicely. Really excited to start training these girls, I’ve got big dreams for them! I wish my tap water had a lower EC, I’d like to use more CalMag without going over my EC limit. I’ve been fertigating 4 times a day, starting at lights on with 5 hour intervals between. 🌀🍊💡🌳🍃

Been a very slow week for them this time round. I believe the coco may have been stored somewhere with too high humidity, or my nutrient solution has been too strong in terms of EC. It could also be a case of low temperature and low humidity in the tent, my environment hasn’t been ideal. The environment issue is completely my fault, but I’ve since adjusted the humidifier settings and swapped out the heating mat for a tube heater, as the girls are no longer in the propagator and the mat isn’t very powerful. I’ve ordered a new bag of coco, so I’m waiting until that comes to transplant these girls. Hopefully after that, I’ll see some improvement from them. Welcome! I’ve seen some good progress from the girls this week. After transplanting on Monday (day 17), the plants started looking much healthier. Usually, I would have transplanted into a second container (3L-9L) before the final 20L pot, but I’ve seen a few people try it this way and wanted to see if there’s any noticeable differences. I’m ready & excited to start training. I love being hands-on with the plants, doing LST, topping or defoliating. Can’t wait!! 🍃⛵️ Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 still looking small, but she’s catching up and I think she’s hiding her true power. Luckily I got a head start on these girls so I’m not behind schedule!

Yo! This week has felt like a long one, both girls in the tent seem to be showing signs of high pH in the root zone, but I’m doing my best to adjust the pH with my Bluelab pen and Growth Technology’s pH down. These girls haven’t had the best start, and I probably should be on here or Twitter asking for advice, but the plants are making progress. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 another week has gone by, but she’s still seemingly struggling. I kinda need her to get taller, but I’m not having much luck. Topped her on day 25, gonna keep an eye on how the 2 now-main colas grow their nodes, because the Northern Lights is already almost ready for her 2nd topping! Hello from the girls this week! Things have been looking up; both plants seem to be loving the environment. It’s a little cold in the tent, but I’m ensuring the VPD remains above 0.6 kPa. Expecting to keep them on 18/6 for another 2 weeks I think, but we’ll see. Just going to get the soft ties on and see how they look after some further LST’ing Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 Very good progress this week! Still quite squat, there’s barely any inter-nodal space, but she’s packed full of growth. By this I mean that she has almost the same AMOUNT of nodes as NL, but she’s so much smaller. So excited to see how these girls measure up against each other, as this is my first time having multiple plants in the same tent for a whole cycle. Buzzing!! 🍁🐝

What’s up folks?! This is the final week of veg! I’ll be switching the timer to 12/12 later today. Still a little bit cold in the tent, which shouldn’t be as much of a problem after the flip. I set up the ScrOG net, attaching it to the four corners of the tent. I’d love to be able to get my hands on some of those grow tent booster poles for a 2x4 but I can’t seem to find any. I’ve begun adding potassium silicate to my solution, too. Keeping pH between 5.8 - 6.2 Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 Still very short but looking healthy! I topped her slightly differently than the Northern Lights, leaving a couple more bud sites on her. I also defoliated MxOP reasonably less, in hopes than her growth won’t be stunted as much. Looking at the bottom of the pot, her roots look super healthy. Can’t wait to see the buds on her. Let’s get these girls onto flower and see how they look next week! 🌿🍃🌻

Officially into flower! The girls have been looking really happy and healthy, slowly filling out the tent and creating a really nice canopy. I added a second fan to increase circulation and the leaves are dancing in the breeze. The girls are growing into the net nicely, I actually think I might add another soon but we’ll see. Also had an issue with a plug getting too hot and melting an extension lead. I don’t wanna talk about it 🤣 Hoping they don’t get too tall as my tent is only 72” tall and I’ve already had to raise the MxOP to the same height as the NL, but if that happens I’ll just turn the light down to 75%. Keeping pH between 6 - 6.2. Light at 1000 mol/m2/s in the middle of the canopy. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 My small baby is doing nicely, I think I’ve accepted the fact that I won’t get much from her, but I’m still super excited to see the quality of the buds! Barney’s Farm have really impressed me before. She pretty much needs no assistance other than some LST and light bending. MOP MOP MOP ꂢ Overall, a really nice start to these girls’ flowering period! 2 WEEKS IN! I can’t believe this is my 3rd grow. I’m eternally grateful that I began growing, it’s been the most amazing experience and it’s definitely something I want to do for the rest of my life. 30 mins with the girls is better than all the therapy in the world. Plants, in my opinion, are the most fulfilling things we can experience as humans. We need to rebuild our connection with the outside. The girls have had a great week, getting some good height on them. Vertical space may start to become an issue, but if that happens I’ll just remove the carbon filter from the top of the tent, enabling me to raise the light. Pistils are coming through too. So excited!! Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 Had to get this one raised up even more, but now the canopies are level. She’s not drinking loads, but I guess that’s just because she’s so small. Once I do some more defoliation on day f20, her bud sites will have better exposure and I hope she uses that to her advantage when the buds are coming through, despite her size. I guess we’ll see! The girls are looking great overall, I’m just buzzing for these buds to start appearing. Trying to keep temps down so they show their lovely colours. Especially MxOP, she’s got the potential for some beautiful red/pink hues. Smoke and spread some love this weekend 🌿🍃🌻💚

OMG I’m running out of space! It’s the end of week 3 and I’ve had to turn the light down to 50% because the girls are about 8 inches away. Not the best, but it’s because of the Northern Lights getting so tall, that I had to raise the MxOP to have their canopies at the same level. Using the Photone app to give me a better idea of the amount of light they’re getting. I would move the carbon filter if I could, but there is no other configuration that would work. I’ve also had to turn my AC Infinity fans up to 9 because even with my dehumidifier, RH can reach 60%, but is ~57% most of the time. The girls themselves are looking amazing though! Defoliation has definitely done them some good, the light penetration and air circulation are visibly better. NL received a much heavier trim than MxOP. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 she’s tightly packed, got a lovely canopy that is easy to manage, and she’s beginning to show lots of nice white pistils. Having to raise her up is annoying, and she’s not getting the best light spread because of the height issues I mentioned and having the light on half power. We’re a month into flower, and the buds on these girls are coming in very nicely. Some trichomes have been appearing, too. The tent is starting to smell quite strong, each girl has a distinct smell but together the aroma is lovely. Will be adding my PK booster next week, I’m excited to see how the colas start stacking up with flowers! Light is on 50% so I’m slightly worried about how that may affect my yield, but the height of them is TOOTOO crazy! Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 is looking absolutely gorgeous. Lovely flat canopy and the buds are nicely maturing. Could be in need of a CalMag foliar spray soon Overall been a pretty chill week! Not much to update you on since last week, other than the frost these girls are getting!! Lots of lovely trichome production all over the tent, and the smells coming off them are incredible. VPD is stable despite the plants taking up so much space. Airflow is decent, I’d like another oscillating fan just to be sure but most of the tent has good circulation. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 is smelling absolutely wonderful. So fruity already, I can’t wait to see the result of her beautiful buds. Amazing genetics, Barney’s have made themselves and me proud yet again. Had a really nice week with the girls, let me know if you have any advice for me!!! See u next week growmies 🤙🌳

Having a great time watching these girls mature; getting frostier and more aromatic as the days progress. Humidity is slightly higher than I’d like it (~55%) so I’ll be defoliating a decent amount in a few days, which should also help the air circulation between the flowers. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 still looking so good! Very uniform colas, it’s a shame we couldn’t have the light on 100% to see her full potential, but she’s looking great regardless so no biggie. Buds aren’t too stacked, they look very similar to Biscotti Mintz. Overall, happy with her progress! Northern Lights 🌀💡she’s a real spectacle. Unfortunately, I’m probably going to be seeing some foxtailing and/or new smooth leaves growing on the tops due to her sheer height and how I physically can’t move the light any higher. Overall though, her stalks are thin but the buds are looking better than Dr. Lemon’s, so it’s a win for me!! Soooo excited to get them through these last few weeks and chop them down, the fulfilment of knowing you’re growing your own medicine, it’s just amazing. Love you guys, catch you next time! 🥊🍃🌳

Sorry guys I’ve been on holiday! That’s why I’m posting this a few days late. Amsterdam was so amazing. The heat has been a little too high than I’d like for the girls but they’re seemingly handling it very well. Having 2 plants with very different characteristics is interesting but not easy. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 her aroma is developing, now smells like wonderful tropical fruits and oranges. So happy with how her buds are maturing too, buds are growing in size and are unapologetically dense. Will probably start flushing at the end of next week (F8). Good times! Go to Amsterdam!!! 🌳🍃

I was in Amsterdam this week, so not too much to report. The girls are smelling SOOOOO wonderful, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to taste them. Will be trying a new 0.0 ppm water source from a pump near me, for the flushing water. Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 started flushing yesterday, she’s showing off some pungent aromas (pineapple, tropical). Honestly just can’t wait to see the end product, these buds aren’t huge but oh my god they’re dense. We’re close to the end now guys. Every time I do this is gets exponentially more fun! Yo guys!!! Mimosa x Orange Punch 🍊👊 kicked off the week by starting to flush this one. 5 days, 2 flush feeds each day. Chopped her down and managed to trim all of it in half a day! Drying was okay, ~50% RH, 20°C, a little faster than I’d like due to slightly low humidity and warm temp. Got waaaaay less off her than I thought, only ended up with just under 2 ounces. That’s the way she goes boys, the northern lights will redeem this grow yield-wise anyway hopefully! Although there isn’t much, it tastes amazing and is a really smooth smoke. No complaints from me 💚✌️Overall, growing her was really fun. Lovely even canopy, buds were very small but I think that’s on my end. Great strain! Thanks Barney’s
