Hello everyone!
I'm starting my second diary, going back to my first love: the auto's!
I take the opportunity to try the rotation technique: my Royal Cookies will start their vegetation under a "Chinese" LED 65W real, in a 60x60x160 tent, then will continue their flowering in my big 120x60x180 tent under 2xMarsHydro SP150 (210W real together) in which my 3 OG Kush is growing for now :

if I get my way I'll have some nice crops before summer! :)
the germination went well, all 6 seeds germinated.
classic : towel and bucal mask ;), then peal pellet, and now in the propagator.
see you soon for the next step !
one week after germination: so far so good!
they came out of the ground 1 to 2 days after peat pellet, and 2 days later they all had a nice thick, white and hairy root :)
I didn't plan to grow all 6 of them to term; my "small" tent (60x60x160) could only accommodate 4 of them, so I planted 2 of them in pots of only 5L to be able to fit them in my big tent where my 3 OG Kush grow.
This is not ideal, they will only get 12 hours of light, but no risk of early flowering with autos, and in 4 weeks time they will get their 18 hours, at which time I will cut my OG's and gather my 6 autos in the big tent for their flowering. I will repot the 2 small ones if necessary, I have had good results on other autos doing this.
For the other 4, each has an 11L pot with half royalmix, half lightmix with a layer of perlite and guano in between.
Today just a spray watering, tomorrow I'll start some rhizo.
It's been a long time since I've seen my pretty pink light ;) it has served me faithfully for 2 years, glad to be able to give it a vegetation again!
germination + 2 weeks
everything seems to be going well, the babies are growing :)
none of them show any sign of weakness.
the 2 seedlings under white LED in 12/12 are a little less big and wide, but they are at the same stage as the 4 under pink LED in 18/6.
for watering, 1/2l of water each with 0,5ml of rhizo.
my little ones are growing.
The leaves enlarge strongly, a classic reaction to the pink LED.
the stems are now a bit weak, but they will get stronger in the next weeks, nothing to worry about so far.
I finally moved the largest of the 2 from my big tent back to the others in small tent; it wasn't getting enough light, and was submerged by my 3 OG Kush.
As for the last one for which I had no more room, I didn't feel like throwing it away, so I gave it back to nature ;) not much chance that it will survive, it's barely 10°C in my area, but who knows...
a week of ups and downs...
first of all, the last plant repatriated from my 12/12 tent to the 18/6 tent seems to have been fatal; it slowly collapsed, like a victim of overwatering (which was not the case...), and finally its growth was stopped. I eliminated it to make room for my 4 plants in 11L pots.
Then, I spent the week practicing LST; but at the 3rd wave, I went a bit too hard on one of them... cut it off :( with an autoflo I didn't want to waste my time to recover it with tape, it won't have time to recover. RIP.
Finally, a good surprise: the little one planted in the garden has resumed its growth and is developing well! The last nights were very cool, but obviously without much impact on my little guerillera :)
the vegetation continues, so does the LST;
I removed some greedy leaves, I will try not to remove too many in the future with auto's
the trunks are now thick and well anchored, the leaves are green, generally speaking the 3 plants seem to be doing well
a few bugs were caught by one of the two traps, nothing to worry about, just a little diatomee on the top before watering tomorrow
my "guerillera" has a weak growth, but well, it makes its little way...
The flowering of my 4 auto's begins, the pistils emerge
Finally, I did a topping on my 3 indoors; curious to see if this is really harmful on auto's.
One last LST session with dedicated hooks (a purchase I should have made a long time ago!) and I will slowly start watering with fertilizer this week (nothing so far, the royal mix has done its job)
They will join the big tent with my 2 mars hydro TS600 in 2 weeks, when my OG Kush will have been cut.
Outside, the survivor is progressing at her own pace; the pistils are out at the same time as the others.
7th week of life for my little Auto Cookies
I may have been a little heavy handed with the LST ;) but I am happy with the shape they have taken; they will remain small, with a flat canopy.
I'm now letting the heads go up to the light quietly: they've been on 2xTS600 since I cut my OG Kush

In 10/15 days, I will proceed to lollipopping; contested for the auto's I know, but I prefer less heavy buds than lots of larf heads.
the royal mix has run out, i'm slowly bringing in terra bloom and sugar royal.
And outside, it continues to grow nicely :)
she is frail but resists to the weather; whatever the harvest for it, I will be satisfied with 2 or 3 small bonus buds...
the stretch is still in progress
At the beginning of the week, I gave them a quasi lollipopping + LST, late at this stage, but they quickly turned their heads towards the light and develop their pistils.
I currently have 16 buds; I will probably continue lollipopping to get 16 nice big buds, even if the yield is a bit less.
Even in organic, I'm starting to adjust the pH; I had a burnt plant with the Terra series recently; see vid here :

Outside, I also lollipopped my guerillera; I would see it as a one bud :)
it grows 😊
nothing special this week, no adjustment of the LST necessary, the leaves are growing and are green.
The pistils are still white.
outside, my guerillera doesn't seem to want to stretch; it remains small but has resisted to the wind and hail this week.
the high pressure over Europe has brought a warm sun, which seems to accelerate the process: the pistils are already giving way to buds
(unless a hybrid pollination has taken place, I will be sure soon)
my little experiments on these automatics (topping, heavy LST almost mainlining, and heavy defoliation) brought me this mixed result, cannabonzais with few buds but visibly dense despite everything. 😊
it will certainly not be my best harvest but I am satisfied to have played the sorcerer's apprentice without killing them... 😏
they seem to be close to harvesting, maybe 2 or 3 weeks;
I will soon be able to start the germination of my 3 Fat Banana that I plan to grow in my new 15 litres autopots with Plagron's coco/perlite mix, with the Sensi Coco nutrients which seems very promising!
last week of rinsing before the cut
these Royal Cookies are cute dwarf plants, which give buds similar to big "green chocolate" chips 😋
the harvest won't be incredible, but the manicure will be easy, and the buds, although few in number, will be quite dense I think
my outdoor guerillera seems to be able to wait a few more weeks, senescence hasn't started yet
I'm now preparing the next step: my 3 Fat Banana automatics are bathing nicely between two sheets of cotton wool, before joining my first coco+perlite session in autopots!
autumn came early this year 😉
auto's are like that: when it's time, it's time.
there is nothing to do to stop their senescence, and once it is over, removing the leaves is child's play 👌
the topping technique leaves me with 16 buds that will dry for a week; I don't think the harvest will be abundant, but the nuggets are quite dense, I hope the quality will be there
weighing and smoke test in 10 days 👍
(and harvesting my lil' guerillera, which I give an extra week before cutting)
I knew that my harvest would not be exceptional with my small experiments on these automatics, but I am satisfied!
in less than 3 months, I get 51g of well-cured and dried buds, with a minimal effort during the cultivation,
and above all an extremely simple harvest: the leaves had almost all fallen off themselves,
I only had to smooth the buds and cut them at their base, they formed a bunch of grapes
for information, my little guerillera did not perform a miracle,
although surviving an outdoor transplant at the end of the winter is already a small one ;)
it came to term, with... 1 gram. 😊
I let my heads mature in their jar with a 62% boveda for a week before the smoke test ✋
