Grow Questions

With the Heater I have(analog setting) fluctuates (needs to drop 6 degrees) before kicking on. So my Lights off temp fluctuates from 67F lowest(about 5min) to peak 74F(<5min) maintaining an average of 70F lights off. Is this too much of a swing?

intervals are short.. there's a delay between drop in temp and plant actually getting "colder" which shortens any potential length of time where the plant gets colder than the average ... so i doubt this is an issue. if you consistently get fall colors late in bloom and can rule out gentics due to near 100% consistency, then you can probably assume it got a little too cold at night, but still might not be a major issue relative to 67F... borderline temp (at worst) and only a temporary state as mentioned above.

Hey there friend, Would you be alright with me offering some pointers based on the information in your diary? I'd love to offer some advice to help out if that is alright! So first off, Cannabis plants love heat and humidity. The buds hate it, When we are in veg we want to exploit this for more vigorous quick growth. The end of the day we want to get through veg quickly & into flower. In veg we want temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. Keeping our temperature gap's between lights on and off tight, Under 9 degrees less we will keep our plants from stretching. If we allow for too much temperature swing in veg & early flower we will cause our plants to stretch a lot unwantedly. This goes for photoperiods and autoflowers. We also can introduce humidity into our rooms in the first few weeks of veg to help us speed through this otherwise slow stage of growth. When our plants are small our roots are small too & this is why our plants will slowly grow along during this phase. We can help this by supplementing the smaller root structures with some foliar intake from the leafs. Humidity of 60-75% in veg is great for this. It is very important we make sure to correlate our temperature & humidity setpoints to what is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. All growers should learn this and get used to using a VPD chart to log their rooms numbers daily. Here is a great article on how temperature and humidity interplay to form what is called a VPD set point. This is very important to getting our plants growing optimally. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ There is a chart you can print off on there as well which is the chart I use. If you have not done so yet, Get yourself a PAR meter & a thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 64 MAX to better dial in your light to plant distance & optimize this to get as much PAR onto your plants as possible, Safely. Also grab yourself some light pulleys if you do not have them already they are great for adjusting our light distance. When we enter flower our temperature control is very important to how our buds develop and finish. If our rooms are too hot, We get big airy buds that are prone to fox tail and will not have much resin. If our rooms are too cold we go in the other direction, We will get very dense caked buds but we lose out on a lot of size. We want size + density that is where the weight is. With lights on in flower, we want 77-80MAX & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. With autoflowers & photoperiods, Once our plants finish growing vertically their response to that form of environmental stress will change. Around weeks 4-6 of photoperiods & autoflowers we want to watch for it by eye, But as soon as our plants finish their vertical growth we want to now begin to manipulate their genetic responses by widening our temperature gaps to now beyond more than 10 degrees less with lights off. This will signal the plant into thinking the end of the season if approaching and it will send extra energy into the budding process and resin production. Widening this gap a little more each week until harvest works great to simulate this seasonal change, We can also use light deprivation in the last 2 weeks & very cold feed temps in the last week, I have seen some growers on here use a very smart idea of putting ice on the top of their soil the last week for feeds chilling the substrate and water very effectively. If you should have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me, I am always around to help. Just follow my profile & DM me! Also if it interests you check out our youtube channel and subscribe. We are currently waiting on our seeds from seedsman, The sponsor of our upcoming tutorial series to arrive then we will be launching our tutorial series on youtube to help all levels of growers learn more about growing cannabis at a very high level. We will be starting with the basics of using autoflowers for our first installment of episodes. Happy growing friend!

@moosebones1241, No problem friend! One good thing we can do while waiting for a humidifier, Is fill a bucket of water & put it into our tent it will help to passively raise the humidity up we do not want to put a lid on it & the warmer out tent is the better it will work. You got this man keep it up!

@LegacyMarketFarm, thank you so much for your feedback and I have already ordered a bigger humidifier to address my low RH and working on fixing the heat situation. This is my first grow in a bigger area than a 2x4 cabinet or 4x4 tent so needing heat is new.
