Imprint First every grow. Added seeds directly into turbo dirt loving soil. Took about 4 days before they sprouted. But noticed they were quite tall. Realized that had my light set up 5% as I wasn’t sure what strength to have it on to sprout. Adjusted according to light manual at 60% a day or two later.

Imprint After a lot of reading. I realized I messed up with the light strength. They were looking quite long and lanky so I rigged up some wooden skewers to stabilize and hope they could be recovered due to the tall stretch.

Imprint Removed the stake in hopes the plant is strong enough to stand on its own. So far so good. Lights are now at 100% and following manual guides.

Imprint Wasn’t really sure when to try some LST so had a crack. Didn’t feel like I was doing it right and need more practice. Felt too early, but did notice the plant moving towards light and new growth sprouting. Wasn’t sure I was doing the LST well enough so after a few days.l decided to stop and just let it grow. I’ll use this first grow to understand the natural grow phases and LST on my next attempt. Really struggling with humidity. A month of rain and 80-90% humidity each day has been hard to combat. But the plants look healthy.

Imprint Plants starting to look better. Thicker stems and branches. More leaves and a bit more spread. Giving a weekly dose of root roids at 1/2 tsp per litre. They look healthy but humidity is hard to control given the weather.

Imprint Looks like I’ve moved into flowering. Started with a dose of flower roids 3 days after weekly root roids. Pretty sure the humidity which is still be between 60-75% is causing me issues with bud growth. But not much else I can do right now. So just hoping for the best. Plants look healthy but not sure what to expect in terms of bud growth. Any tips / help would be appreciated.

Struggling to keep humidity down given the crazy weather here. Cannot move these inside where there is AC they need to live in my semi open air basement. How much will the higher humidity impact bud growth?

I have a dehumidifier running already. Only a small one though. I have an oscillating fan circulating air and also an intake fan pumping air in. Exhaust fan up top sucking it out.

High humidity will mold your buds when you get close to harvest. I run a dehumidifier the last few weeks of flower to prevent this. It's a necessary tool if you fight humidity in late flower.

I’ve noticed one of my plants has a few leaves that have curled up on the top and gone really dry. There is also a dark discoloration. Pics attached. Any advice on what this might be?

More context. So I think I might have found a contributing factor. My intake fan has been blowing in right onto the side of the fabric pot of the plan with the issue. The weight of the pot was much lighter than the smaller plant next to it. My soil moisture meter reads dry whereas the smaller plan reads wet. I think I might have dried out the soil faster on that side of the tent. I’ve just given a larger amount of water until the pot felt much heavier and will see if it makes a difference. I’ve also switched position of pots and redirected the intake fan duct to blow away from the pot.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I’m using a water only soil with a weekly dose of root roids and weekly does of fruit roids. https://www.drgreenthumbs.com.au/products/water-only-soil Lights are 12-16 inches above tallest plant which is the recommended distance for my grow light. I will cut back on amount of water for a few days and see if it helps. I thought maybe I was under watering the plans at first.

Imprint Not sure what is happening to the larger plant but many of the leaves are curling and turning brown. Not sure if I’m over watering or not. My soil feels hard and compact and water takes a while to seep in. I’ve plucked off the dying leaves for now. But not sure what to do. The smaller plant has no issues other than some yellow leaves at the bottom.

Imprint Rough week. I think I’ve over watered one plant it messed something else up. Leaves started curling and dying and not looking good. Let it dry out for a few days and have been watering light and making sure PH is good. Saw some new green growth but still not great. Not sure if it will make it. Other plant is turning yellow and buds look good but not quite ready for harvest.

Imprint The taller plant is in bad shape. Plucked off as many dying leaves as I could and I’m hoping for the best. The buds look kinda ok, but not sure if it’ll make it to harvest. Other plant is close to harvest I think but I’m not sure. Checking daily with a loupe but don’t see much amber.

Imprint Pretty the taller plant is a goner. Hoping it will make it another week or so and try to harvest but it’s not looking good. Other plan is close to harvest I think but not seeing a lot of amber. Have tried limited water and increased the space between pot and saucer to see if it helps.

Nice looking plant mate, I guess the slowing growth is caused by the transition from veg to flower. greetings 😀👍

Those are some beautiful looking ladies friend! Great work so far on your first crop. Would you be alright with me offering some general pointers for you? Cannabis plants love heat and humidity. The buds HATE it, In veg we want to exploit this for more vigorous growth. We want to look for temperatures of 79-84 MAX in veg & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. We want to keep our temperature gap's tight between lights on and lights off if we allow for too much temperature fluctuation at this stage of growth our plants will stretch a lot we do not want that. In the first few weeks of veg we can utilize humidity of 60-70% to great effect if we combine our temp & humidity to use a VPD chart and optimize both together, VPD stands for vapor pressure deficit. All new growers should learn this and get used to using a VPD chart. Here is a great article on it and the chart I use. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ in flower temperature control is very important to how our buds will develop. If our rooms are too hot we get big airy buds with not very much resin, If our rooms are too cold we will get very dense caked buds but lose a lot of size. We want the best of both worlds, To achieve that we want to look for temperatures of 77-80MAX with lights on and no more than 9 degrees less with lights off, Once our plants finish growing vertically by weeks 4-6 of flower we want to then open up our temperature gaps as by now our plant's responses to this environmental stress have changed. Now instead of stretch, they will put extra energy into the budding and resin production processes. If you haven't done so already get yourself a PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun like the fluke 64 MAX, These pieces of equipment will really help you read your plant's needs and better grow to them. If you do not have them get some pulleys for your lights like the sun grip light pulleys they are great to adjust your light to plant distance. If you have any questions or need any help please do not hesitate to ask, Just follow my profile & DM me! If you are interested, Check out my youtube page it is linked to my grow diaries profile. I am going to be releasing a tutorial series for all levels of growers very shortly starting by April 20th. I hope you will check it out. Keep up the amazing work friend I look forward to seeing how these turn out. Happy growing!
