WEEK 3
DAY 22- 28 - 3/18-24/22
RECAP
EXTENDED NOTES
DAY 22 - 3/18/22
Chamomile and basil are both thriving. THe conditions are stable in the tent and they are getting the right amount of light. Both of these have recovered from light burn.
Not a ton of change from yesterday. Purple's 7th node has fully unfurled. Given the lower growth on Blue and Cookie, they'll probably respond better to LST.
DAY 23 - 3/19/22
Repotted the basil today! Broguht home an English Ivy, but she can hang on the windowsill for a while before she's ready to join the others in the tent. Chamomile got watered yesterda, and basil got water today. Chamomile has also fully recovered from overwatering and light burn and is consistently pushing out new growth. I should thin the seedlings, but i seeded them way too dense.
Cookie is drooping and exhibiting signs of slow growth. I wonder if this is a nutrient issue, only time will tell. Maybe she can take some water tomorrow? She got mulched with the leaves I trimmed from Purple.
Purple got topped today! This was a little nerve-wracking but the mainlining will pay off. She looks bald now, but Iknow she's gonna be amazing once the growing gets underway.
Blue has also been trained- she was bent almost a full 90 degrees to encourage growth in the side branches. Her stem is getting woody and her 7th node is starting to bud and blossom.
DAY 24 - 3/20/22
Completed LST and topping on Blue and Cookie. Decided to experiment with FIMing Cookie because of her thick, wide leaves. Hopefully I did it correctly. Blue got a straight topping to N4.
Purple responded really well to training. I' think I'm gonna do the full manifold technique. It's going to stretch my tyime in veg, but Blue and Cookie are going to need it to catch up to Purple. Her new main branches are pushing out new growth consistently, and when those branches get big enough she will get topped again.
Blue showed some development of branches on N2 and with the new light, we'll hopefully see more growth.
This is the point where I realize Cookie isn't being dramatic, but instead my dumb ass has been overwatering her.
DAY 25 - 3/21/22
Day 15 after repotting
Cookie was still droopy this morning because I've been waterboarding the poor thing. She was trained yesterday but her branches didn't pop back up. Duh, she's overwatered and stressed out. I'm gonna let her be and come back to bother her again in a few days.
Purple responded amazingly to the topping. She's pushing out new branches, each with axillary growth tips. SHe's even pushing out branches ar the lower stem nodes where i pruned mature leaves on those branches!
Blue also responded really well to training. her branches are pointing up and changes/new growth are visible at all nodes
DAY 26 - 3/22/22
BLUE is grownig slowly but she is growing! Lashes at NI, N2 already has axillary branches and a N2 coming out of them! n3 has long lashes, and growth tips are just beginning to peek out at n4. BLUE got water with nutes and calmag.
PURPLE can probably take another da or so without water. She's also responding well to the training. No new growth on the pruned nodes. N3 axillary branches are now beefy. noticing some light bleaching on these new bits so i moved the light a little further away. 3 nodes are fully out on those new branches, with a 4th node coming out. Baby leaves at that N1 and tiny lashes at the other nodes. second topping should be due in another few days!
I think i've finally figured out what Cookie wants! After the watering yesterday, i moved her to the floor in the back of the tent, and today she is perky and pointing up. she has baby lashes ar all nodes. she was FIM'd but now i'm seeing new growth at the tip as well
DAY 27 - 3/23/22
BLUE was a little droopy about th water she got yesterdaybut she spent the day on the floor of the tent and perkedt up, the green got deeper, although not as deep as purple's leaves. n2 branches are pushing out their second nodes. n3 branches also look good but they're not fully out.
COOKIE continues to recover. n1 still has some light green leaves. tiny leaves poking out at n2, smaller ones at n3. the FIM'd tip looks absolutely crazy, but it does actually look like i'm gonna see 4 growth tips out of that. her baby leaves are dying off and her stem is starting to get woody.
PURPLE is showing some bizarre leaf issues on the node closest to the stake (left side). one finger off the same n1 fan lead fell off and there are holes in 2 of the fingers. another has a jagged edge. 3 nodes are out and the 4th node is in progress. estimating that the next day will happen on day 30. she got water with calmag, no nutes
DAY 28 - 3/24/22
thank fucking god there's no more damage to purple's leaves. it's not a bug or a disease, it;s just wind and light burn. all the plants were changed to beign on the ground of the tent, with the lights about 28'' away from the plants, at 75% strength and 60-70% RH.
PURPLE is looking lovely after her waterin. yesterday she bounced back from the training and she is so bushy. im prettu sure she will need to be trained so that her leaves don't touch. that seems to be creating leafburn holes. she'll be a great champ and take defoliation well. the nodes on the new mains aren't quite ready et, but she's getting there. the lights are pretty strong so the nodes aren't spaced quite so far apart.
BLUE is responding really well to LST. N2 branches are growing, and they are getting smaller the higher up they are on the set,. this is a good sign the hormones are being redistributed along the plant. leaves are not complerely out on N4. her leaves are getting darker, which is telling me that the weaker light and increased nutes are working for her. her soil is still wet from a few days ago, so her nect drink is going to be plain water in a few days.
COOKIE had her growth tips trimmed at n1. n2 + n3 have the tiny leaf tips poking out, and lashes at n4. n5 got FIM'd and 4 days wout there's some really funly growth. once again, the growth tips and axillary branches get smaller as you go up higher on the setm. she can probalby take a day or 2 without water. no leaf damage; leaves pointing up, and the pale green is gone.
