This time I'm trying successfully to germinate in rockwool cubes after losing a few seeds trying to germinate directly in soil. I don't know if there's something with my soil to kill the seedlings but just to be safe I started the seeds in the cubes in a germination trail. The first seed popped out around 24hrs later and the second around 48hrs after sowing. The third one took around 4 days to pop out. On the 4th day I transferred all cubes to the final pot but took off around 1lt of my old amended soil and topped up the hole with some new seedling soil mix that I used in my first grow just in case something on the amendment could somehow damage the taproot. It seems to be working. She is growing good and strong. Getting only 10% of light right now as the first real leaves still haven't showed. Happy days!
About the strain:
Chemdog ’91 x Chemdog ’91
Chemdawg 91 is a popular hybrid bred from unknown parents - some theorize that the “91” in its name refers to the year of its creation. It is descended from the legendary Chemdawg strain which is thought to be crossed from Thai and Nepalese landraces by U.S. East Coast breeders. The phenotypes of Chemdawg 91 can waver between indica-dominant and sativa-dominant, but its THC content is strong and has been measured at levels as high as 24%.
She's growing a bit behind her sisters but seems healthy and happy. It may be early to feed some nuts but I'm following the feed system recommendation. 25% of lights so far.
She's growing fast and healthy. No signs of overfeeding so I'm keeping on the feed program as recommended. Lights going from 50% to 75%. Let's keep up the good job.
Nothing new this week. She's still growing steadily and the nutes seem to be doing a good job so far. I'm using the Dual Fuel with a bit of Growth Solution to raise the EC to follow the Green Plant Nutes program and it feels like it's right so I'm keeping like that. The light is set to 100% as the plants are healthy and the weather is getting a bit too cold. I upgraded my second inlet fan from a generic 150mm ball bearing fan to a 125mm Phresh Hyper Fan V2 w/ speed control. Now my tent is so much quiet with both Hyper Fans V2 working on blowing fresh air in and out. Maybe I get a Phresh Hyperfan V2 Climate Controller to manage them automatically next upgrade.
She answered very well to the bending clip. All them just got into a really strong veg growth with vigorous leaf expansion. I'm not defoliating her yet as she's going very fine so far and because she's not that tall yet it may shock her and as she is going into transition this week I don't wanna risk in such critical point. The nuts seem to be working very well so far. I don't think she's needing any calmag so far so I'm keeping the program. She's getting into the first layer of net to train for the final shape.
They all gone through some good final training. She looks like that is going into transition before blooming. The bending clips are doing a great job. I broke two steams real bad trying to push too hard on the clips. At least I learnt that older steams take time to bend into those clips independently how thin they look like. The photos are in order from 02/05 to 08/05. I removed most of the big fan leaves below the mesh and some that were blocking light. She's recovering very well and it seems to be well adapted to the shape. I'm feeding some calmag to raise my EC as feeding program requires and let's see if the plants react ok to it. So far so good. It seems the plants have been under 12/12 for some weeks. My high ass probably changed last time I'd adjusted my setup and I didn't remembered. Well... It seems it was on the right timing. xD I believe they all gonna start blooming by next week so next watering will have some changes. Great week!
She's going great and really tall. The broken branches are fully recovered like they were never hurt. I'm not using a second net this time as they all are growing tall and I have a lot of vertical space. She's taking the nuts very well. I'll keep following the Green Planet program until the last day.
She's got really tall so far. She got some wind burn probably because the cold weather and the fan hitting the top fan leaves directly for a while since I lifted the lights a bit. She is growing several buds now and the nuts are doing a great work so far.
She's got into full bloom now. The whole plant doesn't look much good but she's healthy and is steadily growing so not much to be done. Just following the program.
I could evaluate this plant as average. I wasn't expecting a plant so fragile but it's good for the experience. Got some defoliation to give more light to the several tiny buds she got.
Nothing new this week. Just following the nut program. It seems she's not a good strain to grow in low temps as she seems to be the only one to be struggling to develop 100%.
So it looks like she got light burn now. This strain is really fragile! I reduced the lights to 80% to give her a break as the temperatures have been as low as a few degrees some mornings and she's been dealing with it for a while now. By now I'm just hoping she gets to the harvest week with at least some decent weight as the buds seem to be pretty small and probably will end up going to butter.
It looks like she's one week behind all the time so I'm guessing she's not just weak but a slow one too. She's working on the buds so at least she's not stunned. The reduced lights reduced a lot the damage but still some more sensible leaves are still getting burned. I'm taking the risk as she's not the only plant on the tent and at this point the lights lower than 80% would do more lost than good I'm guessing.
She's kinda hanging there but at least the drying out occuring now is the natural at least. Some serious damage was taken by some leaves and the plant overall is not that good but she seems to be maturating even so. I'm not very hopeful for the outcome but it is what it is.
She doesn't look ready but the trichomes don't lie. I'm flushing her with the double amount of water I usually do just in case the cause of the low health was some nut build up as I've being reusing soil for a couple of grows. Let's hope the outcome is at least decent.
This strain is definitely pretty weak to cold, wind and LED lights. I got all sort of environment burns during the whole flowering stage. She kept going even struggling a bit but the buds took a decent toll. Most of the buds are below ok, lots of popcorn and a few decent buds. It may be a good strain to do some hard training to keep her shorter as she can grow really tall. I'll give it another run when the weather is a bit more suitable for her flaws.
I still haven't weight this one but by the looks of the buds it feels pretty disappointing. Most of the buds are probably end up on some butter which is not a waste at all but I appreciate tasting the different strains so it's still a shame.
