hi guys.how high is too high for my phlizon led1500 watt light. I'm having a lot of trouble with these new lights. there is fans in the news light but for some reason that hot air is aimed down towards plants instead up and out of the back like I assumed after reading they are fan cooled? It was imposible to keep my box cooled to the temp ive been keeping them, 70ish. i proceeded to take plants out of box. Made a new floor setup thinking it would be easy to keep them around desired temp if they were not in the old ventilated box. Still fighting this problem but seems like i can only keep them at 70 w the ac on nonstop in that room. Deff wasnt planning on running ac for next three months straight ya know . do i raise the light even higher or look for recipe. If i raise em, how high is too high? If i return them, what led lights under 200 dont blast hot air at your plants?

If shopping for a light do not consider anything burple (blue & red LED's). That is old, less efficient technology. Look for a "white" LED grow light. They are more efficient and most do not have cooling fans. Several years ago I switched to Horticultural Lighting Group (HLG) lights and I am amazed at the difference. The lights run much cooler than my old burple lights with cooling fans and my plants do much better. Mars Hydro makes many, inexpensive grow lights that are pretty good. Depending on where you are located you can consider a Migrow light. If you don't want a Migrow light look up Migrow on Youtube. Select the videos tab and watch their reviews of lights. Their reviews are thorough and unbiased.

82 F is ideal max temp to grow in. Unless you are adding co2. That changes thing but 82F

Are you growing in a tent? What is your set-up like? It sounds like you may need a stronger exhaust fan? Also, when you switch to 12/12 the cooling period is longer when the lights are out, so that may help. I think the general rule on exhausting air is that your intake/exhaust system should work to replace all the air in the space 2-3 times per minute? I'm probably wrong on that, but I swear a guy in a place told me that once. Or a book. Either way, sounds like an exhaust issue, not a light issue. Also, celcius or fahrenheit?
