Firstly a big thanks to the “selection committee” for my participation in this event 😂🌱🌿 and to the guys at RQS Spain for the amazing package I received 👍😍
So my setup this time round is the same, 2x2x5 by spider-farmer with the intelligent fan to go with it, I know 6 inch is overkill but I do plan on upgrading my tent and light in the future, the light I’m running is the XS1500 from Viparspectra, it’s a perfect light for my tent. I have a 6” oscillation fan from ram.
Soil is a Biobizz light mix/perlite/vermiculite mix at a ratio of 70/15/15 and I will be adding the easy boost supplied by RQS to this mix when I prepare the soil in a few days time, I am already using the 1 15L fabric pot supplied by RQS for the Fat Banana grow so I will be using a standard 12L fabric pot as is the closest size I have to hand.
I shall be using all other RQS grow accessories supplied for this grow 🤞👍🌱🌿
5th April: started 24hr seed soak
6th April: Used an Easy Start chamber that was also supplied by RQS, after mixing the pre supplied bacto pack in 1L of water and pre soaking the pot I popped in my seed and put it in a germination chamber and have left it now in the dark until I start to hopefully see life so 🤞
7th April: Noticed the seed had broke surface, 2 days and I’ll plant into final pot 😊
9th April: Stem is around 5cm with husk still attached, I have mixed in with around 20L of Biobizz light mix soil the 100g of Boost supplied for this grow by RQS and 5L of Vermiculite/Perlite mix (this is a mix for 2 pots) and filled the 12.5L fabric pot 3/4 of the way to the top with this mix and then topped the rest of the pot of with the Biobizz light mix (yes I’m high and going into extreme detail for some reason). I then transplanted the Purplematic seedling into this pot which I had sprayed a few times around the planting area with distilled water, the root of which was fantastic, I did bury about 2cm of the stem into the dirt but I’m not bothered about that. I coved the seedling with a plastic bottle bottom and and then watered 250ml of distilled water that was at a ph of 6.50 and 6.64 (2 electric sticks for a better average) around the bottle and then stuck my Viparspectra Xs1500 lights on to around 40% at 26 inches and will now wait until the cotyledons have fully emerged and the 1st set of leaves are visible and I can call time on a successful germination 😊👍🌱
11th April: fully germinated
Will now move onto veg cycle
