Started with a seed soak of 12 hours in ph 6.0 water.Seeds were placed into moist peat pellets which I nestled into Happy Frog filled nursery pots By day 4 and 5, the first two girls came up beautifully but girl 3 (now known as Big Bertha) came up stretched and yellow. I was worried she would fall over so i used this red support to keep her upright. Day 7: is where I made my first mistake (which I didn’t find out until flower) and that was turning my light to 100%.

Being a new grower I did a few of the typical incorrect things. Overwatered, and blasting the light at max intensity, I am pretty sure I stunted them. However they did manage to be very resilient. Only thing I did during the first week of veg was transplant over into their 5 gallon pots. I mixed 1 small bag of Fox Farm Ocean Friends with one 2 cubic yard bag if happy frog. Sprayed it down and performed the transplant.

Day 15: I started to realize the error of my ways with watering so I started getting into the habit of top dressing dressing when needed. Day 19: started with nutes and fed big bloom at 1/4 strength Day 21: fed big bloom and grow big At this point the girls were growing fast and looking great, but I noticed a bit of tilt towards the light on the outside pots. I raised the light to 22” over the pots and that seemed to fix the issue.

This week I wanted to try both topping and lst. I think on my next grow I would do one or the other and not both necessarily. I am split in this regard as I have nothing to compare to. Perhaps I will top one and lst another and doth both to a third? While doing the lst I also did some defol. I know many people don’t like this but I would do it with any leafy plant around the house or outside so I am a firm believer in defoliation for healthy girls. At this point I got a much better handle on watering without drowning the plants. Between that and the other mistakes I think I hindered growth. Possibly doing the topping and lst almost back to back - maybe. Could have been the intial overwaters or the defol. I am not sure but it’s part of the journey and hobby.

Just doing some defol where needed and letting the plants grow. Starting to see a lot of buds coming in, and I’m adjusting branches in the lst where I think they need it. I will most likely not continue defoliation for the rest of the grow unless the remaining fan leaves start causing shadows. I feel I may have done too much too soon and as a new grower - I’m glad I at least tried my hand to learn the consequences now. Grow big and big bloom are being fed twice a week at a rate of 1/4 strength per 2 gal. Tiger bloom has also been added to the party at 1/4 strength

New week started on 4/6. The morning began with a big watering with Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom and Grow Big at 1/2 strength per 2 gallons. The girls are drinking a lot now and I have begun supplementing big waters that occur every 2-3 days with top dressing when the top layer feels dry. I think these plants are very resilient and watering is definitely the hardest part of the learning curve. I have gotten much more comfortable with leaving things alone and now I am just waiting to see the flowering process hopefully start to take off. Two of the plants seems to be very happy and have more bushy growth. The third is a bit more dense with much lower amount of flower sites. I have been going light on the nutrient because the plants haven’t shown me any signs of needing anything. I plan to adjust it going forward from the second feed of the week. Nothing to report by end of the week. Plants are just building up trichs and hopefully we’ll see some growth of the buds over the next couple weeks.

At this point during flowering, this is where I see different information. Should I allow all bud sites to do their thing? From reading, the growing community is split where some people trim off lower and others seem to say if there’s a bud leave it.

If these are the plants you are referring to, do not remove anything, you have nothing to trim off that is being shaded. Just remember - More leaves = more energy being made = more growth. It really is that simple!

New week with not much to report. She just started to have some noticeable changes to the buds as they are beginning to fill out. For the last week all she really did was start crapping out trichs and they are really looking frosty. Biggest plant lst’d is still only 15” tall so I’m not sure how much of this was stunt from error vs just the shorter nature of this. Should still get a decent yield for my first attempt. FF nutrients are now being dosed at full strength. I do think I could have gone stronger doses previously but since I mixed ffof and happy frog, there were plenty of nutes to get them going and I have seen no signs of deficiencies

Flowering on. Just getting more frost, finally seeing some density come into the buds, and we are getting orange into the mix. Hit with a little cal mag with the last feeding. Plants seem happy overall.

Week 8 is almost over and the plants are starting to come into their final stages looking good. What started as a string bean plant that I thought that I had killed seems to be the strongest with its bud production, and while I did stunt these they are just short and the yield will be lower, However, so far they seem to be doing well. The other two plants have also been relatively strong growers but one has definitely showing its stunting more than the other. I’ll be lucky to get half an ounce off the smallest and I’m just hoping to get one off the biggest. Finally, it looks like the biggest plant is nearing its last couple weeks of life before harvest. The fan leaves have begun to yellow naturally from what I can tell and buds are starting to get a tinge of purple while continuing to frost. so far only the random trich has shown to be Amber, I will have to keep watching this over the next week or two

No nutrients are being fed. I think I’ve got about two weeks left so I wanted to be sure to get all clean water into the plants while they finish. Even with the stunt - I believe I have two different phenos as one is more of a lighter green with beautiful purples coming in. The other two are less branchy and more stout in size. The purple smells of a sweet and sour grape candy but not something sweet like a jolly rancher. The greens are much louder with a heavy citrus scent and pine which makes me think this is probably more sour stomper leaning in the genetics. It’s been very humid here lately with a decent amount of rain build up so it’s been hard to keep humidity down. I think for my next run I’ll adding an intake fan and doing a night-lights on run to help with cooler temps. I’d really like to bring out the purple more but I’m limited by the environment. We’ll see how these finish out

Just trying to be patient as we cross the finish line. I’ve been using just ph’d water this week to flush out the synthetics that I did use. My favorite plant is fading gorgeously and her trichomes are clouded but I’m waiting for some ambers to show. She smells like grape gum and much sweeter than the other two. The others still have that grape and citrus and pine scent. There’s some fading on the sugar leafs at the very tops of the one or two colas on the stumpiest girl. Her and her twin seem to be slower and show almost no fade. One of them actually still has a couple white pistils and I’m just hoping I don’t have any issues coming up. Really hoping I can give these the chop within the next week or so. Was hoping to get my next grow rolling asap.

Been a problematic week unfortunately and I believe the stress of high heat and humidity (southern springs yay) stressed one of my girls a bit too much. Noticed on day 74 about 20 nanners spots. Gonna give the girls a bit of dark time time and then chop them just to be safe. I wanted to let them run another week to see some more amber trichs, but everything is cloudy so we should still be good. All nanners I could see were plucked and I’ll finish and cure that plant separate just in case.

This was a great strain for a first grow. Other than being stunted by first timer light and watering issues I think this is something that is very forgiving. I tipped and lst this plant. I made mistakes and screwed up. She just kept going and doing what she did. I’ve already got an archive of meph in my plans for the next few crows so double grape is sure to come back for a second time.

Didn’t both weighing wet because that’s not what matters in the end. I cut every in may 20 which was day 75 since one of them got nanners. I separated stems from main branch and performed a moderate to heavy wet trim due to high humidity in my area. I then hung dry for about 9-10 days with as close to 60-65%rh being average. After this, when I found I could snap a bud stem, i bucked all the gifs and went over each for manicuring. I manicured and bagged each plant into grove bags over 3 days. So my official cure started may30 for the medium plant, may 31 for the large, june 1 for the smallest. Each group was sweat for 24 hours before being bagged. Each bag had a hygrometer with an adjusted humidity tag to account for the terrible differences from my inkbird. I plan to cure each plant at least 30 days before coming back with a smoke report. I will start with the fact that when I dried these I was getting worried bc they lost their smell and I figured I That that was that. Well during trim I kept getting good whiffs of grape and “weed” smell so I was cheered up. After 3 days of curing the buds have already changed scent entirely and they smell like grape jam and a hint of lemon/pine. Very excited to see how they come along with both scent and flavor.
