2 of these ladies, 1 x Northern Light + 1 x Caramel Kush, originally had their roots eaten by fungus gnats. Have also had ducting fall onto 2 x Northern Lights, which are the ones in the 5 gal bags. The Caramel Kush, White Widow and un-damaged northern Lights are in the 10 gal grow bags.
Ladies are doing really well this week. I had originally tied the Caramel Kush down as was running out of room in my veg tent but now the other ladies have been flipped and I have more room I have undone the ties and will let her grow back vertically and will put a scrog net in place. Any tips/suggestions feel free to hit me up, I love learning more about this passion of mine.
Had some issues this week, light discoloured spots on edges and sometimes middle of leaves, looking like either windburn or ph. Pretty sure it's not my ph but am now critically monitoring my ph levels. Have also backed the fan right off for now.
Defoliation, for or against?? Was day 22 last night and defoliated. Went heavy on Caramel, noticed branches don't like supporting themselves after. Did I do too much?? Also, is it okay to strip sny fan leaf?? Was worried taking ones from bud sites as opposed to stalk/branch sites
Leaves are the motor of the plant. with photosynthesis from the leaves she gets energy(food) alway keep it into your mind and find the balance between . ive been waiting for the flowers and then watched which leaves block the light to the flower. and those i picked away. happy growing
This week has gone well. Installed a scrog net and started training the ladies. Have tipped both ends of the white widow again as she's already nearly filled all her squares. Probably left it a little late to start training for the Caramel Kush but the top net will control her a bit better. All ladies have responded superbly to the net being installed.
Been occupied with work and life. Think this is actually a week or two ahead of whats recorded but not 100% sure. Have started feeding daily, was feeding twice a week and watering every other day. Been feeding daily for 3 days now and already noticed the difference, so much more.new growth. Have also installed the top scrog net. Going to give these ladies another week or two to grow up into the top net, then will sit them in pitch black for 24 hours after a feed of water and mycco, then flip to flower.
Just realised I did my defoliation qurstion here. I didn't defol my veg ladies but instead my ladies in flower. Too high and got confused by having 2 diaries haha.
@CapitanKush, cheers man, these first two weeks have gone so quickly, day 11 just finished and day 12 starting tonight, will update the diary tonight. :)
Hi @Canned_ibis! Defoliation is awesome when done correctly, but it could be a nightmare if done too much or at the wrong time. Before removing a leaf, I always ask myself: is this leaf really blocking the light? For how many nodes / bud sites? How close are the next leaves? How healthy is this leaf? You should make your own experiments and see how it goes. Keep us up-to-date, happy growing! 👊
@VicBuds, that top layer?? That's for fungus gnats, a coarse layer that they can't burrow through :) have used perlite mixed with the coco though, about 70/30 coco/perlite ratio.
