cornbreadsquirrel noticed slight yellowing on outer edges of leaves on day 6 of week 2. diagnosed nitrogen deficiency, because no nutrients exist in substrate and I was being overly careful with nitrogen feeding since this if my first auto grow. doubled N100 dosage starting in week 3 to remedy

cornbreadsquirrel First pistils appeared on day 2, preflower begins. Switched lights on to bloom, but flower will not officially start for a few more days. 1mL CalMag supplement when preflower began to get cola growth off to a nice start. Over corrected nitrogen supplement with 10mL/1L of N100. Noticed on day 2 as well. Fed only plain water for the 2 middle waterings of the week to flush. New growth on day 7 showed less signs of nute burn and more signs of nute deficiency. Probably should have mixed some worm castings in the substrate to help level out the nutrient issues I'm having with this Auto.. I will know now for next time. :D Hit with 1mL PK & 2mL N100 on day 7 Began LST

cornbreadsquirrel Trimmed 2 old fan leaves which were very nutrient-burnt and not very useful to the plant. Removal of mildew on outside of pot using brush & baking soda. Light dusting of spent coffee grains on top of soil to help bring down pH which has gotten too high. pH-down supplement arrives for week 6. Continuing to practice advanced bondage on the plant to keep all buds at about the same height and use as much of the floor space as possible, as my tent is only 1M tall.

cornbreadsquirrel I learned this week that I really fucked up my LST. It was my first time trying it, and I learned that LST with cannabis is not like Bonsai at all :D Have constriction wounds on the main branch and some side branches where I forgot to loosen/remove the twine after training. Was not able to get the plant into the shape I would have liked because I did not anticipate it going into full-flower so soon, any vertical growth (which translates into circular for me) almost completely stopped. This could also have something to do with over-feed and under-feed issues that have plagued me throughout this entire grow. Despite all of this, the plant is looking pretty decent and I anticipate getting a decent harvest out of it, as long as I don't royally fuck anything up in the next weeks.

cornbreadsquirrel Nutrient deficiencies have gotten a bit worse, I assume because the buds are exploding :) Trying to keep up without burning the plant like I did in the beginning weeks. She's also much more thirsty, demanding almost .75l per day! I'll keep trying to not fuck anything up for a few more weeks.

cornbreadsquirrel Stopped giving nutes on day 4. Looks like 10-20% amber pistils, expecting 50% or so amber pistils in the next 2 weeks, at which point I will be ready to chop it immediately.

cornbreadsquirrel No pictures from this week, as I had family visiting and completely forgot to do my grow diary. Thank you for the reminder email! The picture on this week is from week 11 At this point, the PK problem had worsened and most of my leaves were purple/black. Buds started to look like they would mature in about 2 weeks, so I went ahead and started to flush in preparation for harvesting. This was a big mistake.

cornbreadsquirrel No pictures from this week, as I had family visiting and completely forgot to do my grow diary. Thank you for the reminder email! The picture on this week is from week 11 Plant looked like absolute shit and the buds did not mature like I thought they would after flushing for 1 week. I began feeding again to try and salvage the harvest. I did much heavier feeding than previously to try and "make up" for the lost time. 1200ppm 7-7-11 with a nice boost of P/K. Leaves reacted well and after about 4 days started to look better. This is when I noticed the "fox tails" beginning to form on the buds, which freaked me out because I had no clue what they were.

cornbreadsquirrel Leaves look much better compared to weeks 8-10. Fox tails have gone nuts on the buds. This has been the hottest part of the year where I live, which has consistently kept daytime temperatures between 27-30 for the plant - above ideal range and probably the source of the fox tails.

How do I know when to harvest with the addition of the fox tails? I'm unsure if now is a good time to harvest or if I should wait some time for the fox tails.

You don't need to wait until it starts to foxtail. Usually that's a sign that it's cooking too long. How you tell is by the pitils and trichomes. 90% cloudy is fine to start the flush on and the rest will cloud up come harvest. But really all comes down to how you like your bud? If its more sativa then harvest with 80% cloudy or if you like me and love an owl couch lock close to full cloudiness when coming near the flush/harvest. You want 10-30% Amber pistils. (Hairs). And want them all curling back into the bud. Looking at your is a bit hard to tell. It looks done, but you got a few white hairs. Throw or cut feed and get ready to flush and bring her to harvest. Good luck pal

cornbreadsquirrel Even if you screw up everything imaginable, it's still worth it to stick it out to the end. This plant was very hardy and ended up yielding me quite a bit of bud for such a small little nutrient-deprived plant. I look forward to the next grow and am happy this plant taught me something. Hopefully the bud tastes good! 😁

@LegacyMarketFarm, Thanks for your positivity! These nugs don't exactly look beautiful, but I think they'll do the job they were intended to 😜 I think with a bit more reading and a few changes to my environment my next grow will be much better.

@cornbreadsquirrel, Thats the attitude my friend. Growing and improving and learning is something we all want to get better at, Not just in our greenhouses, or grow rooms or tents, But in life in general. They are good traits to take outside of your grow and with you into the real world :) Your colors are beautiful and the cake is there. A few environmental tweaks as you said and changes to how the plant was raised and you will be miles ahead of this one. Each grow is an opportunity to learn and log data and go into the next one even better prepared. I hope you would take a look at our tutorial series diary and also our youtube channel tutorial series videos that go along with it. I feel it could really be of a help to you ! Our youtube, Is linked off of my main grow diaries profile. I look forward to seeing you over there and hearing your feedback ! Episode 8 will be out very soon you got time to subscribe and catch up. One thing id recommend is get a diary and log your data from each crop. If you can get into the habit of this it really helps.

@cornbreadsquirrel, So now that you got her chopped, Keep her hanging like that until all branches snap clean, EXCEPT the big main stalk right under the main cola, It should make a snap sound when you bend it to break, But it should not cleanly break off yet. IF you can keep it at 55-60F to make it go slower, It helps. I even drop mine down to 50F. THIS is when the plant is ready to come out of the slow dry. Since you are only drying 1 plant, You do not want a fan in there or any dehu forcing the moisture out, The longer we allow it to take the better the end product will be. Once it is finished drying that is when you want to take it out and trim it up. Since we used to do this with over 300LBS of weed at a time we would use big freezer bags instead of glass jars & I actually found that it gave a better flavor than jars. So once the dry is finished & you have trimmed it, Put it in either bags or jars and only burp it once a day for a hour or so each day for the first week. After that first week you don't want to be burping it only open it up when you take weed out to smoke. After that second week you will be close to max potential.

How's the light? I haven't been able to get anything like that in viparspectra best I can get my hands on is an XS2000. But I can already tell there's a big difference in bud quality. If you look at my banana purple punch I have 1 under a p1000 and the other spent most of its life under a sf1000 and the quality of the bud is crazy. The SF1000 is better for vegging though but for flowering the more real white bright light is tops for flowering.

@gottagrowsometime, Thanks for the question! Honestly I can't tell you man, it's the only light I've ever owned. I've got a tiny 40x40x120 space with decent airflow that I'm currently growing in and it keeps it quite hot. I'll need to make some changes to my setup and shift my schedule to accommodate the pure heat this dude produces, but overall I am very happy with the bud size and quality I get out of it. I have completed only one one grow previously, which was 2 photos in a 80x120x220 space with this light; I had quite large buds of very high quality for my first time and there was no legginess or issues with light penetration in the canopy. The grow went much better than the one you're seeing above (barring the 2 I lost to spider mites). How much of that was up to space, type, nutrient schedule, light, man I can't tell you honestly... everything about my environment changed between grows except the light haha
the end.
