This is my first cannabis growing ever. I hope it goes well.
I plan to grow mostly outdoors and organically.
In my "Special Cannabinoids project" I chose this CBD-V and CBG seeds (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/142000-grow-journal-by-agora). Both are automatic strains from Dutch Passion. I have tested and reviewed many products with special cannabinoids in my work and now I have decided to grow my own.
I'm also trying to grow Think Different (https://growdiaries.com/diaries/141998-grow-journal-by-agora)
- All the plants look good.
- They were a little bit long. I added substrate and buried the stem down.
- It's nice weather here. The seedlings have sun all day. I help them with the lights in the evening.
- I am adding beneficial microbes, aloe vera, humic and fulvic acids and basic homemade fertilisers. NPKs are planned from next week.

Ich persönlich würde sie jetzt
erst einmal ruhen lassen und abwarten, wie sich ihre Zweige entwickeln. Bis diese trainiert werden können, wird es wohl aber noch einige Tage dauern.
Aber ich würde sagen du hast deiner kleinen Lady genau den richtigen Weg gezeigt 😊👍
- The plants start to produce their first flowers.
- Changing fertilisers from "grow" to "bloom".
- It was relatively nice weather and sunny this week.
- I believe I would be able to distinguish all the plants without colors identification pins now. CBD-Vs lateral branches grow in length and plants are not dense - a lot of light gets in.
- I removed the oldest triple leaves, which were yellowing.
- The plants begin to smell.
- First trichomes are visible.
- I won't be doing any more LSTs. I don't want to stress my girls now that they're blooming.
- I bought a new vaporizer for dried herbs - I can't wait to try it with my own cannabis.
- Taking photos of trichomes is hell - I'll have to buy a microscope or a special macro lens. :-)
- It's really hot over the weekend. I water more and protect the pots from direct sun. But the plants seem to like the heat - the buds are getting fatter and almost don't give off any smell.
- I trimmed lower leaves.
- Last week some pest (probably a caterpillar) chewed the leaves of my Think Different. Now CBG and CBDV also have this problem. I have ordered a spray with bacillus thuringiensis. I hope that it helps.
- The weather was strange this week - one day hot, the next day rainy. Sometimes I keep my plants at home for protection from extreme thunderstorms and hailstorms.
- Flowers are full of fur when I have the plants outside and my dogs walk around them. :-D
- I made hemp-coconut oil from defoliated leaves. I know the fan leaves don't have many effects, but it tastes great.
- I caught the caterpillar that was eating leaves. Bacillus thuringiensis helped. Thank you very much for your advice, crimsonecho!
- I like watching trichomes up close. And I also enjoy taking pictures of them. They look great!
- Buds are getting more thick. CBGs and Think Different are a bit stronger. CBDVs have flowers more airy and not very dense.
- The smell is sometimes moderately intense and sometimes almost none.
- Everything looks ok, weather and temperatures are acceptable and the plants grow without any problems.
- I haven't posted here because the system blocked my comments and other activities whenever I tried to write something. So the diary is a bit late. Hopefully it won't make any more trouble.
- The leaves have started to turn to purple. I don't know why, but I like it
- Some trichomes are already amber, so I'll be harvesting.
- The next diary update will be a harvest report.
- I'm really looking forward to smoking - especially when this is the first cannabis I've grown.

What to improve next time:
- Fertilisation optimisation (replace Voodoo Juice with Tarantula and and use more home-made fertilizers)
- No defoliation (it probably slowed down the growth of my plants)
- Plastic starter pots, not fabric pots (they are difficult to remove plants from when transplanting)
- No germination directly in soil (I'd rather have more insight into the seeds)

@@agora, thanks for the insight. I think it's time for me to get my Canon 7D out of my closet. I have a good tripod for situations like these, however I lack a macro lens. I guess that means its time to buy some new equipment 😊
@@BodhiBuds, I have bought a basic and cheap manual macro lens with 1:1 magnification for my Fujifilm camera. Next, I put macro rings between the camera and the lens and cropped the photos to make trichomes more visible up close.
I plan to purchase a small tripod (my big is hard to handle among pots). Shooting from hand is harder, I need a shorter capture time for such macro and because of that I need to raise the sensitivity of the sensor to light and then there is noise in the photos.
@CrazyHorse, Thx. CBDV and CBD are a bit similar "non-traditional". I've been wanting to try them for a long time. And of course, it wouldn't be possible without normal sativa. 😁
@@agora, 😂 n'ai pas peur le cannabis est une plante robuste qui peut supporter ces techniques même sur une auto floraison. Tu dois juste retirer le bud principal quand ton plant a fais toutes mini branche latérale 👍
@JamesBarre, I'm afraid of topping with autoflowers. It says everywhere that high stress training reduces yield. But next year I'm planning a classic photoperiods and I'm gonna try topping with them.
@@agora, essaye le topping la prochaine fois (plant 15-20cm), ça redistribuera l'hormone de croissance pour obtenir une période végétative plus longue un stretch des branche basse et donc une plus grosse récolte (voir ma Northern light auto et ma sweet ZZ auto) 👍🌱😊

I've only ever heard of cannabidivarin being mentioned specifically in translational psychology, I think with some autism study.
Iirc it had some similar structural effect to very, very mild ketamine and benzodiazepine action, but - unlike ketamine - the effect was not in the brain's frontal regions, but the basal ganglia!
Although the conclusion was not much more than this... and it was a very specific model..!
This might suggest some antidepressant effect, in the form of an insulated mood-lift, but I wonder about the psychedelic elements.

Also - if someone was to synthesis CBD-V and it is a registered trademark - if they sourced it from cannabis - would they not only face legal charges from the state, but also be liable for copyright violation? haha :D

Hey dude, I didn't see the grow question, but...
You might find it helpful to have another stake/tie in at the base of the plant, so as to lift up and help the stem remain straight and upright at the base.
eg, tie it so it is being pulled in both ways, the base one direction and the top the other.
This way the angle of the bend can be a little steeper, without losing any of the support.
It might be that the plant grows out the ground at a funny angle, which might not be an issue - but you wouldn't want it accidentally getting cricked or snapped when it thickens up and becomes woody, if you are messing with it again during the first weeks of flowering.
It's not such a big deal to have to put in supports if the plant ends up lop-sided or tilting like a bush in the hedge, but it's one ball-ache that can be avoided by developing a nice straight stem at the base.
It also means you can keep an angle that is horizontal or declined when it comes to radical LST later, without having big fan leaves and things trailing along the surface of the soil and getting in the way of watering and starting to go manky stuff.
