Hi folks and welcome to my first diary ๐
I'm here with my custom breed of Pink KushxPurplePunch x Pink Kush. I call this one the Pink Punch. Together, we'll see how good this breed will turn out.
I'm pretty excited because I'm expecting good results from this genetic. We'll see several different variations and I'm sure a few will turn out fire.
The setup is simple. I got this amazing prototype grow lights made by LEDWisdom. They sent me a 800W unit for my 120x120 Hydro Shoot tent. I can say that these lights can hit over 1400 umols of PPFD from 35-40 centimeters. Pretty amazing performance here. The efficacy of the fixture is somewhere around 3.0 umols per Joule. We can only expect amazing results with this light setup.
I got carbon filter installed already. I'm using an exhaust fan but not using an inlet fan. I'll install a ventilator in the following weeks.
Medium is coco coir and the nute setup is pretty simple. Check my coco feeding program for vegetation;
-General Hydroponics Flora Coco Grow and Bloom: The best nutrients for coco. They don't need additional cal&mag products. These bottles have plenty of cal&mag and chelated iron. No need for extra bottles.
-Canna Rhizotonic: I need fast roots so I decided to introduce a root booster. I can't see the roots and this is the first time I'm using Rhizotonic so we'll see if this will do any good in the following weeks. Smells pretty dirty ๐
-Plagron pH Min: So far I'm happy with this pH regulator. Pretty strong formula. I was using GH pH down but this time I wanted to try this one. No complaints.
In bloom period I'll add;
-Advanced Nutrients Big Bud: My go to solution for bloom boosting. I'm a long time user and I have grown many top shelf stuff with Big Bud. I can't say this is absolutely superior to other manufacturer's bloom boosters but it sure does the job well. I used almost every bloom booster in the market but this one fits in my custom bloom schedule better.
-Aptus Regulator: I can't give up on the Regulator. It includes silica and some very important elements like boron and molybdenum. Molybdenum in particular, is a very beneficial element to the plants. It boosts N and Cu intake so I can cut down on some Flora Coco Grow in flowering. PPM levels can get high with so many bottles.
-GH Ripen and Flora Kleen: I'll finish these plants with the last 14 days feeding program from General Hydroponics. I'm pretty happy with these and prefer them over AN Overdrive + Flawless Finish.
As we can all agree the setup is pretty simple. I'll take good care of my garden and probably get over 1000 grams of fine trimmed and dried buds.
Join me along the ride to see some amazing results. I'm feeling pretty confident because the conditions in the grow room is tuned to the optimal and I intend to keep things that way.
Best of luck to all in your gardens. Keep'em growing ๐ช
you have a nice garden bro.
I change my medium to coconut because it is much more cost effective than buying new land all the time.what is your lamp manufacturer?
@bobo66,
Hi bobo,
If you properly feed your plants and keep yourself from over fertilizing them then flushing won't do much good. Your product will taste amazing with fewer nutrients during the grow. Flushing is for cleaning the medium, not the buds. You can always flush for the last two days just to be sure about your medium being free from excess minerals. This way you can get rid of some of the excess mobile nutrients in the plant. But if you feed properly and light, you don't have to do these. I only advise flushing on the transition week from grow to bloom.
About rinsing buds, I don't wash my buds. There is some dust that we can't see on them for sure but that doesn't bother me.
@pro_grower, if you think look at the diary I keep, it's true that it grows in the soil mixture of plagron not in coconut, but I'm slowly harvesting keep it with me
@pro_grower, bro, when I saw your answer, I twisted a cigarette to read itโ๏ธ๐พ๐ I understand what you are saying .. should I ask you even if I work with organic nutrients completely, there is no need for rinsing before harvest? I use an accessory called biotabs outside and I didnโt feel any off-flavors when I smoked the harvested flowersโฆ thank you so much for sharing so much with me๐ let me drink something with you, I think we're far apart๐ญ
@Jays_Not_Here_Man,
Hi Jay, nice to see you checking in brother ๐
I'll post next weeks looks tomorrow and they are looking a lot better :)
Only question is when to flower. I'm not after the highest harvest here since I need them to be harvested in 10 weeks tops. We'll see how much can they grow in 8-10 days. I might flip even earlier.
Best ๐
Hey bro. Your diary tag caught my attention. The 1400ppfd thing. You do know, if you are getting your ppfd range from your lights that's at 30cm away from the canopy. At 150cm you wouldn't even get that from a 1000watt led being that far away.
You can get a simple lux meter on your phone and do the lumen conversion with a ppfd cal like this https://www.waveformlighting.com/horticulture/convert-lux-to-ppfd-online-calculator
Good luck.
@gottagrowsometime,
Thank you for your insights brother.
I got the temperature under control now. I'll add an intake fan in a few days and hoping that will reduce some degrees.
I'll get two packs of Exhale CO2 for this tent. These will provide the CO2 levels needed.
Cheers ๐
@pro_grower,
Nah should be a problem. Once you have temps under ccontrol.
+ with your ambient 800 ppm reading that'll allow your plants to withstand a higher temp and overall par.
Idk about the pro running at that but I'm not on anything like that, so I'll take your word on it. Either way you should get nice dense bud with them lights. Best of luck bro.
@gottagrowsometime,
Hi there brotherrr ๐ฌ
The PPFD setting is not at 1400 umols right now. That tag explains the flowering PPFD setup. I'll use 800W of top notch LED's and I already measured them from 20-25 cm distance with a quantum PAR meter. Average PPFD from 20-25 cm's is more than 1400 umols. This tent is a 120x120cm model and normally people use 600W LED's in such setups. Not me brother :)
I don't know if that high PPFD would cause a problem on these small plants but we'll see. I am confident that their root systems are already pretty strong and I am hoping that these will kick ass in the bloom period. Next week is the flip.
About the high PPFD, it usually does good up to 2000 umols. I must say that anything higher than 1500 umols wouldn't be a good investment. I've joined a seminar on cannabis lighting and this is pretty much how professionals are setting up their lights these days. About the CO2, around 800PPM's will do just fine alongside with 1500umols.
