Home Bargains experiment - this is the test of the growmoor 40 litre compost (purple bag) from HB. Starting in 3.6 litre pots going into 18 litres at 4 weeks.
IMPORTANT - do not over water 💦 I watered once this week , totally saturated them , and just left them alone - ONCE THIS WEEK !!!
I gave her a little drink of some shogun nutrients this week , one feed at +600 ppm or +1.2 EC , they are being watered almost every three days , sometimes a little earlier 👍 pics from iPhone
Ok starting to show a few leaf deficiencies, but with two weeks left I’m going to dragonforce then flush , I water every 2-3 days , I have given them two feeds this whole cycle , once with a bit of cal mag and ooze , once with some shogun flower feeds , I don’t expect a huge yield , it was an experiment, and wow how much easier it is to do in soil , they seem to smell more too 👍
Ok so she had her final flush today , I’m going to let her dry out then crop, all photos from iPhone , two of them smell the fruitiest of fruity , one of them is a lot more resin smelling , this was fun , I reckon there might be a few ounces here , certainly not on the scale of DWC but 500 times easier , some quality smoke here and for the budget probably the best value , I spent about £5 on the compost , , electric was 15 p a day , so about £13 , tent was £30 ,led was £100 , fan and filter £50 , fan in tent £12 , water from tap 50p , I think she needs a little bit of cal mag in the grow , and some dragon force at the end , I think there is as least 3 ounces , so a pretty good ROI for a budget .

You can clearly see that repotting affects final size , the biggest one was repotted first . Next go I’m going to plant straight into final pot

I will update when dry, more than i thought.... smells so fruity...well two of them do, one smells dark and dirty.....all grown under the BESTVA 150 watt ( says 800 equivalent ) with Home Bargains soil, an a couple of feeds of SHogun...
Ok it’s a fruity smoke , Average strength ,a nice strain to start on for a beginner
easy soil grow in a 60 x 60 x 140 tent, eager to taste it....soil smells much more than DWC00. Update 3 plants made 82 grams in total probably minus a bit of leaf .2 of them on the scales weighed in picture , plant A in bowl ( that was the biggest )0
I'll get all those testers and solutions when I have spare cash probably next month as I'm setting up a another grow but I got a pH meter so atleast that's one thing covered , I'm trying to not water too much or little and keep the nutrients at an acceptable level with the 8 ball and she looks loads better than the cheese did so fingers crossed she will be an improvement taste wise but probably not yeild. yea I think experience would get me the results I really want so I'll persevere and I might scrog my next one as it will be 4 in 16ltr pots if they all pop :/ lol
@Apprenticegrow420,it’s all about practice and feeling what she needs , firstly get a lux meter , a ph meter and an EC meter , buy some test solutions to check they are correct , but the lux meter will stop you burning the plants , it measures light intensity , you will find very helpful to keep canopy flat , I had a look at your grow and it reminds me of me a few years ago , if you truely want the best flavour you need to be really careful with watering . How bigs the pot bro? I’m swaying on using it for my next grow in autopots just HB “super” soil, and only water in the res! See what you get off this grapefruit, mines frosting up good I’ll upload some better pics on mine tonight and let you know she’s small mind👍🏼
@PharmaZ,well the cookies varietys i have grown, are all small compact buds, like strawberries, this grapefruit i have really smells of grapefruit , the cookies always smelt a bit like burnt stuff.....i label shit nowadays as my memory aint that good.. :)
@BigDaddyK, looking good bro! haha you know what, go check my cookies and grapefruit again. Tell me if you think I’ve got them the wrong way round. I germed them all at the same time and forgot to seperate properly at germination I was baked when I planted.
The “grapefruit” smells sweet but not fruity more like creamy. What do you think from pics?
