22 Fast Cheese

I don’t think I’ve ever had the chance to try a cheese strain, or at least one that actually made me think of cheese. I hope this one is nice and stinky and I’m disappointed one of the two seeds didn’t germinate.

June 13: looking good, and will top soon. June 14: topped down to third node and then removed lower growth tips but leaving fan leaves.

June 24: plant is recovering nicely from the first manifold topping. It’s been a cool and wet June and hit 6 C last night.

July 3: added Power Bloom at recommended 1 tbsp per gallon of soil as a top dressing along with a handful of malted barley.

Kind of lost track of this one with only one pic this week. So it goes.

July 26: switched to gypsum as Ca source as Cal-Max has unwanted N.

July 27: I missed putting this Cheese into the blackout tent. Oops, hopefully that won’t mess it up too much. Forcing started on July 9 for this plant so that 18 days should be long enough. I think Ed Rosethal’s Growers Handbook says two weeks should suffice, but I found that wasn’t long enough last year. July 28: all plants have gotten so big during force flowering that I’m running out of room in the blackout tent. So six plants that are fully flowering now were graduated outside to natural 16 h light. They were this Cheese, two Bubble OG clones, two 11RosesxTXL and one 11Roses x Purple Mazar. July 29: now done force flowering. All plants are flowering and won’t re-veg at this point when switching back to natural 16 h conditions. That’s hard work, but very satisfying to see the flowers forming. July 31: added second round of Power Bloom and malt as top dressing. Started using soluble wood ash as K source. Aug 7: this plant is doing great with the buds coming in thick and fast. Very nice.

Aug 24: nearing end, switching to plain pHed water. Sep 1: took two tops totalling 30 g wet.

Sep 7: late season hailstorm. Second round 248g wet.

Sep 16: took third and final round of 310 g wet for total of 588 g wet.

No problems with this plant. Very good strain. Had a hailstorm on 7 Sep but this plant was undamaged.
