1st week of veg with some new genetics. Recently read Dune and remembered seeing the Dune reference in the strain description so I went back to check it out and it checked all my boxes so I had to pull the trigger. This is really about 2.5 weeks since germinating but the first week of having developed true leaves.
She germinated in 3 days in damp paper towels. Took a bit to get going, it got dislodged in the soil and ended up closer to the surface than she needed to be and the hull took an extra day to pop off. I added some soil and she’s in great shape now. It’s in a 1g fabric pot with ffof with added perlite and mycorrhizae. Keeping the humidity high in the tent to help with the root development and encourage vigorous growth.
This is going to be a primarily organic grow. If I need to fix any issues I’m not opposed to doing a bottle feed if necessary. I’m going to be using a lot of build a soil products this round. I had a lot of success with them last round and picked up a few new ones to play with, but most of that will come when we get closer to flower. I watered in some recharge when planting, gave plain pHd water to keep the medium moist, did a light dose of the BAS big 6 when the first true leaves developed, and hit it with some more recharge on the most recent watering.
She’s sharing a tent with a nana glue plant by square one genetics and I’m already starting to see the difference in the rate that they’re growing — that plant is already growing taller. So that’ll be a challenge to deal with but shouldn’t be too difficult to overcome.
This plant is doing great, it was a bit slower out of the gate than the nana glue plant next to it but it’s catching up now. I have a feeling I’m going to really like this one, I really like plants with those compact, broad leaves. Just about 4 nodes so I may top it around this time next week if it keeps up the pace that it’s growing but we’ll see. I’ve got the lights at ~70% and will probably keep it there until it’s time to flip. Nothing fancy yet as far as nutrition goes, just some pH’d dechlorinated tap water twice and some recharge to get the biology going. Excited to see how this week goes.
Solid week of growth for this plant. I’m starting to really love it, at first I was thinking it would be a slower moving plant but it’s quickly overtaken the size of the nana glue plant in the tent with it and is showing no issues whatsoever. This plant is throwing some massive fan leaves and just overall looks super healthy and is growing vigorously.
The other plant is showing some fade on the lower growth so I started adding a bit of cal mag to my waterings and did a light foliar spray with some pure protein dry fish aminos to hopefully get out ahead of it with this one. That one got a heavier foliar spray and a watering with the aminos. I also did a weekly dose of recharge and added some of the Big 6 Micros to one of the waterings.
I topped this plant on Tuesday and it’s getting close to time to repot it. Once it rebounds from the topping I’ll probably move it over to the 5 gallon pot that I’m going to flower it in so look forward to that in next week’s update!
This plant continues to kick ass and the grow is starting to get fun. This plant was still doing alright in the 1 gallon pot but the other plant in the tent was definitely ready to get some bigger shoes so I repotted them both into their final 5 gallon home. Repotted in a fabric pot with FFOF as a base with a bit of craft blend, worm castings, and mykos so the plant will be all set up to transition to flower in a couple weeks. I also started doing some LST and tying the branches down so it really bushes out so I can fill out the tent. The nana glue plant next to this one has been a bit temperamental but this one has been a breeze and the genetics are doing all the heavy lifting. I’ve been super impressed with this plant over the last couple of weeks and can’t wait to see her flower.
This week went great. No issues whatsoever with this plant. This is my favorite part of the grow honestly, it’s just cruise control until flower.
Im still adding cal mag to the water most of the time when I water, once a week I’ve added a bit of the big 6 micros and a bit of the Q to thoroughly disperse the water through the medium. The Q hasn’t been as crucial for this plant but the soil for nana glue plant was super hydrophobic and the Q corrected that immediately. The roots are rapidly filling the new 5g container so they’re getting about 1/2 a gallon of water every 2-3 days.
I’ve been going hard with the LST to even out and fill out the canopy and we’re almost there. Now that there’s a decent amount of foliage I’ve been keeping the humidity a bit lower. The humidity is crazy outside here but the ac infinity fan has been doing a great job keeping it controlled in the tent. I can’t let them veg much longer due to the height restrictions in the tent so I’ll probably flip to flower next week if all goes well. Idk how much this one is going to stretch but I know the nana glue plant more than doubled it’s size last round so I have to be conscious of that.
Great final week of veg. The plant is super happy, full of vigor, bushed out to fill that half of the tent, and all around one of the healthiest plants I’ve ever grown. It’s filling the pot well and should have plenty of nutrition left in the medium and I did a light top dress with the build a flower to ensure it has everything it needs when it starts stretching. I’ve defoliated slightly and the canopy is fairly even. I’ve removed some of the lower growth so it focuses on the tops. Tonight will be the first 12hour dark period so it’s going to start getting really fun over the next couple of weeks.
Week 1 of flower went great, these plants have filled up the canopy, are starting to stretch, and are starting to pop pistils at the nodes. I’ve started adding build a bloom to the watering once a week, still doing the big six and recharge once a week or so as well. Not much else to say really, it’s been humid as fuck here but I’ve been really impressed with the ac infinity fan, it’s doing a great job keeping the humidity down in the tent. I’ve got the lights dialed up to 80-85% and the temps have been alright too. I didn’t do a trellis this round because I hate working around them but might end up throwing one on if it needs support in a few weeks.
Week 2 of flower and the stretch has really set in and she’s showing pistils everywhere and the tops are becoming buds. She’s putting on an inch or two daily and still super healthy. I added a really thorough top dress of build a flower that should carry her through early bud development. I’ve done a bit of lollipopping, nothing too serious, I just pluck off some of the lower bud sites and I’m removing the leaves as they become easy to pull off. I saw how insane the feeder roots can get in an earth box when they’re covered and not exposed to light so I’ve tried to crudely replicate that with some cardboard that I’m putting over the top on the edges of the pot so I’m interested in seeing how that turns out. The stretch seems to be slowing down which is good honestly because I’m getting close on vertical space. The Nana Glue plant sharing the tent is starting to pass this one in height. It’s almost perfect right now though so I think it’s going to finish great if it stays healthy. I got a good deal on the rootwise biophos so I swapped out the recharge for that but it’s too early to tell if that’s making any difference. Excited to start to see some buds develop this week!
Another solid week, the stretch phase has pretty much stopped and I’m getting some early bud development. It’s definitely showing some signs of hunger, the lowest growth has been yellowing and falling off and the tops are lighter than they should be. I’ve upped the build a bloom, and added it to 2/3 waterings. I also whipped up a compost tea with some local compost, a handful of build a flower, a scoop of cowoco castings, some craft blend, a pinch of the rootwise biophos, and molasses. I’m going to go out and pick up a bottle of big bloom tomorrow I think so I have something a little more immediately available than the top dress. I had this happen with one of the plants last round so I think I just need to start adding some nitrogen in early stretch. It’s not the end of the world though, she’s still plenty healthy. The only leaves that have died were ones that should’ve been lollipopped off anyway.
I’m like the structure of this plant, the node spacing is a bit tighter than the other plant in the tent and I have a feeling the buds are really going to swell. I can tell this one is going to have a higher leaf to bud bud ratio but I’m hoping it’s not too bad.
I added a dehumidifier to the tent to keep the humidity down now that it’s starting to develop some buds and it’s also just been humid here lately. I dialed the lights back just a bit too while I work out the feeding so I’m not pushing them quite as hard. I think the an infinity fan is really helping keep the temps and humidity in check, it’s noticeably better than the cheap online fan I had in there before. Really looking forward to seeing some more bud development this week!
Another solid week, this plant is super happy and healthy and the buds are starting to develop. It’s sharing a tent with a Nana Glue plant bred by THCTitan which is known for being completely iced out but this plant already has more frost. The bud structure is a lot more compact on this plant so I’m hoping they end up really dense too. It’s starting to show the first shades of color too so I can’t wait to see how that comes out in a couple of weeks. I’ve got the light at about 85% and I’ve been watering every 2-2.5 days. I’ve been mixing it up with what I add to the water — build a bloom has been a staple and lately I’ve been adding a bit of fox farm big bloom to have some plant available nutrients while the organic amendments break down. I toss in some of the big 6 micros, a small amount of the aminos, some cal mag if I’m not watering in build a bloom, and the q less regularly. All in all I’m really happy with where we’re at this grow.
This plant continues to impress, it’s definitely the better looking of the two plants in the tent at this point. It has bulkier looking flowers, it has more frost, and has been healthier all through the grow. It’s starting to get some purple in the leaves and just looks beautiful. The one downside is it has a decent amount of foliage so I think it’s going to be a bit of a pain to trim. I’ve been keeping the watering routine pretty consistent, water with a few additives most waterings to supplement the nutrition in the medium given that I’m only in a 5 gallon pot and I’ve been pretty happy with that. It’s not full on hydro where the plant is constantly fully dependent on me for nutrients all the time but definitely not water only, which just isn’t an option with two plants in this size tent, I really can’t up the size of the pots and still have space for the dehumidifier and fans down at the bottom. All in all I’m really happy with this strain, I’m getting ready to pop a few beans for next round and I’m definitely growing this one again.
Loving this plant more every week! The purple is really coming out in the leaves, the buds are plumping up and I love the structure. Each top looks super dense and uniform and looking great and fit for jars three or four nodes down and lots of frost. I did a final top dress with build a flower and I’m still supplementing with a low level of build a bloom or big bloom. It’s mostly cruise control now while the buds develop and ripen. Expecting more of the same for the next couple of weeks.
Week 7 of flower down and this plant is doing great, it’s definitely one of my favorite plants I’ve ever grown. I’m really hoping the one I just started comes out this great because I didn’t take clones. I’ll probably start checking trichomes this week but she still has a few weeks left. I’m pretty much coasting now, still adding a bit of supplemental nutrition with most waterings between the build a bloom, big bloom, big 6, and cal mag, then the microbes once every week and a half to two weeks and sometimes a pinch of the q. The lowers are starting to fade and the leaves up top have really brought out the purple. The tops look great and even the lowers seem to have some density to them, it’s not going to be much larf. It doesn’t have a super gassy smell yet but neither did the kosher kush at this point and those jars smell like straight gasoline.
Down to the final stretch here and I’m still really loving this plant. Today is day 56 of flower, I’m getting a nice fade, I checked the trichomes a few nights ago and I’m mostly cloudy, still with l a bit of clear and a bit going to amber. I’m probably going to let her go one more full week and harvest around day 63 or whenever the clear is gone and I have about 10% amber. The bud structure is exactly what I’m looking for, it has some nice colors, a nice smell, if this one’s effects are nice it’ll be a 10/10 for me. I’ve totally cut out any supplemental nutrition so we’re just going to ride it out with what’s in the medium. The humidity has been a bit of a struggle here unfortunately so I’m hoping I can get through the last week and dry without any problems. Keep on the lookout for the journal for round two of this strain. She’ll be sharing a tent with another square one genetics strain so I’m really looking forward to that. They just got out of the seedling phase so I’ll upload week one of veg soon!
Day 63 of flower and this girl is ripening up. I thought I’d be chopping her at this point last week but I’m gonna let her go a bit longer — the trichomes are mostly cloudy but there are still some clear ones and the cloudy ones can go a bit longer before going amber so I want them to ripen a bit more but the tops are starting to flop over so we’re getting close. The lowers are still bulking up some so I want to give those a bit more time too. I’m really impressed by the trichome coverage all the way down the colas and they all seem to be pretty dense too, I think it’ll be a decent yield. She’s still fairly healthy but it’s starting to fade, I’ve been doing water only for a week and I think the medium still has enough to sustain her a while longer to let the buds ripen. I think by this time next week I’ll be ready to chop.
As I said in the smoke review, this cultivar is going to be a staple in my grows moving forward, it had no issues from seed to harvest, buds work rock dense even 5-6 nodes down from the tops, and was all around a great experience. Can’t wait for twenty20 to drop the f2s.
