Lots of weeks (and storms) ahead to grow out these photoperiod plants. The Bubba Kush are the same seed grown in the Winter Solace Diary, the Purple #1 is a new one as is the already bushy Gorilla Glue. The Purple #1 is straight in the ground and I think I'll put the small Bubba Kush in the ground as well. The Gorilla Glue and other Bubba Kush are in 15gal pots with a soil promix mix and the bottoms cut out open to the garden soil mixed with 10-10-10 dry fertilizer and 2yr old kitchen compost. Can't wait to see how it goes 😁
Plants are taking off now with a week a heat and some extra nutes. Tied down the Glorilla Glue further. Will be interesting to see if the Bubbas catch up to the Gorilla Glue. The Purple# 1 is stretched to the max competing against the flowers and tomatoes.
The Photoperiod plants are truckin along just fine. The Gorilla Glue is as wide as it is high and ready for a heavy defoliation. The potted Bubba Kush is ready for a major LST. And the Bubba and Purple, planted straight in the ground, still haven't needed any care. 😁
The photoperiod plants are thriving. Just switched to Fox Farms Veggie water soluble and they appear to be eating it up. The Gorilla Glue is over 3 feet wide and high now. Installed some corner posts and attached the plants to it. The leaf hoppers are doing some serious damage but the plants seem to be growing faster than they can eat it, so all good 😁
Plants just keep on veggin. Removed 100 or so branches off the GG4. Bug damage on all the plants is bad, leaf hoppers! But they seem to still be thriving 😁.
Bubba Kush in ground is 24"
Bubba Kush in bottomless pot 40"
Purple #1 - 35"
GG4 4ft x 4ft
Switched to water only this week and let them dry out for 5 days afterwards. Great growth, lotsa defoliation, looking good 😁
Bubba Kush in ground is 36"
Bubba Kush in bottomless pot 48"
Purple #1 - 48"
GG4 4ft x 5ft wide
Took a couple weeks away from the Diva garden to check my old Guerrilla garden sites in the Northern bush. They're still there, waiting for the next grow, who knows maybe next year I'll put in the energy for a Big crop 😁. But in the meantime the 2022 Outdoor Photo period grow has been moving along great without me. Other than a couple hours of defoliation ahead of me the plant are looking very healthy. I did spot some powdery mildew on one branch of the smallest Bubba Kush and there continues to be alot of leaf hopper damage but all in all its looking good. 😁.
In ground Bubba Kush and Purple #1 - 60 in x 18 in
Gorilla Glue #4, Bottomless Pot - 60 x 60
Bubba Kush, Bottomless pot - 60 x 48
Whoa they're getting big! The trunks and branches on these trees held up to some heavy storms the last couple weeks and good thing cuz there's many more to come. Planting them like a hedge, short side against the wind, and adding the corner trellises has made a big difference as well. Keeping an eye out for powdery mildew as its shown up in gourds in the other garden.
The Big Gals in the bottomless pots continue to soar with the Bubba Kush hitting 7ft tall, the Gorilla Glue #4 reaching 6ft wide, and both with trunks over 2". The Purple #4 and the in-ground Bubba continue to stretch for sun and space.
Found the first signs of flower so switched to Fox Farms water soluble flower mix, Cultivation Nation Flower. 😁
All 4 plants are now 7 to 7.5 feet tall and the two potted are 6 feet wide. Flowering is well under way. I compared the photos to last years Super Veg diary and was happy to see theyre matching last years growth.
Sad Story: The flower on the Gorilla Glue is dying. Looks disease related and spreading from the bottom up. Hoping it only affects the 1 plant, Probably lost half the plant or more by removing all infected branches. The neighbouring Bubba Kush plants still look great, we'll see what happens.
The Gorilla Glue looks like its survived the die off and the remaining tops look good. The Bubba Kush and Purple planted in the ground are both suffering from powdery mildew. Defoliated and sprayed to minimize the spread and it was good to see the to big potted plants are still resisting the PM. Plants are only taking plain water at this point, smell wonderful, and have some serious stickiness. Hoping for good things to come. 😁
The race is on. Flowers are bulking up nicely but will they mature before mildew, mold, or storms get em? The weather has been great so far. So close to the finish line ...😁
Plants and flowers are looking gorgeous! Still fresh water only with a couple gallons each every few days. The 2 big gals are still resisting the powdery mildew. I've kept spraying the other 2 with PureCrop1 to keep them viable and keep it from spreading.
The big gals are looking good, no mold or mildew, the cleanest outdoor crop I've ever had the pleasure of growing. The Gorilla Glue was lollipopped to endure the heads would firm up and mature properly, looks like its worked great so far. The colour change on the Bubba Kush is amazing (temperatures have been single digit at night with a couple frosts) but the Gorilla Glue seems impervious to the cold. Both smell awesome and I'm happy to see the Bubba Kush smell matches the Winter Solace grow. The Gorilla Glue smells well, very gluey 😁. The plants all seem lined up to finish in a week so I'm hoping the weather holds. 😁
Huge plant with sticky flowers. I suspect the flowers could have lasted for another month if the plant was indoors but the flowers look great and the rains are coming. This plant was a clone already trimmed to be a major round bush. There were so many branches I lollipopped it severely and was rewarded with denser flowers than I expected. It resisted the powdery mildew, black mold, and multiple frosts. 👌
