Welcome everyone to my 2nd grow. My first was with unknown standard seeds (low quality), this time I've gone for good quality genetics & feminized seeds & will be growing 3 great strains, 2 of each strain 6 in total this diary focusing on Northern Lights. NL2 X NL5, excited to grow this newer version of an old school classic. Around 55-65 days flowering, mid size, big yielder, around 22%+ thc averages. Aiming for 1pound+, pulled 10oz of 4 plants with just 3 wks veg on my first grow , but not all about weight really love to grow & learn & enjoy the fruits of my labour. Seperate diaries for other strains pls check them out
Hello & welcome fellow enthusiasts , only 1 seed out of 2 has sprouted & is going well. Started germinating on 26-5-22, sprouted on 28-5-22 , today 7-6-22 around 9 days old . Have started very light nutrient feeding & very small amount & she has taken well to it , will continue light feedings for a few days before I start using the pump & drip feeders & put it on a more regular feeding schedule. Also trying to germinate another seed, oh & also you will notice I've planted them into their final home, so untill next week may life treat you well & thanks for checking out my diary 😃👍🌱
Hi Gromie's , The NL seedling has been going well, starting to grow its 4th set of leaves. Starting to see that Indica trait of big fat fingered leaves🌱. Had been hand watering but have now started them on more frequent Automated feed schedule, 6 feeds a day, every 4 hours, for 15 minutes. it's winter here in 🇦🇺 so temps have been low & the little 150w led light doesn't put out any heat really. So growth may be a little slower, need to get temps & humidity up more. So until next week take care Gromie's 🤘👍.
Hi Gromie's, all is ok, humidity levels have been better since starting drip feeds due to water now in resovoir. Temps need to come up a bit. Have upgraded to a new Mars Hydro fce 4800 bar light. Really nice light , excited to see how it performs. Have increased nutes & feeding every 2 hours as of today . Plant is compact & close between nodes. Untill next week enjoy natures greatest gift smoke up🤘👍🤪
Hello Gromie's, all has been going well with this girl , topped her , defoliated & started training for mainlining this week. She has taken well to it , also turned light up to 50% & lowered it a little. Catch you next week 👍🌱
Hi Gromie's, northern Lights has really taken off this week , I have upped nutrients & also turned light up to 75% (around 360w) which has also helped to increase temps to 22-24°c. Rise in temperature has made a big difference. I have also topped her a 2nd time & will mainline using nebula haze's (grow weed easy.com) method keeping the 1st & 3rd node's giving me 4 cola's per side, 8 total, have started training branches. Until next week 👍 live , love , laugh and get high,🤘🤪🤘
Been a busy week getting the new setup going. She has been going really well , first week of flower , interested to see how she goes. She is a nice little plant problem free so far.
Another problem free week she is looking great. Starting some clones, some in my d.i.y cloner using natural honey . & Some in a Seahawk professional cloner using clonex gel. They have Had similar results. About 12 days in honey & around 10-11 days in clonex, so I'll do another run of these NL now I have some clones👍
Missed a few weeks due to I.T. problems. She has been going great really filling out her colas, she is super frosty & sticky & has a nice sweet/earthy smell. Added scrog net help seperate branches & open up the middle of plants. She has just finished her 6th week of flower
@love_2_grow, thanks , I'm in the process of setting up 3 individual strain diaries, I'll be doing gorilla glue & do si do's og as well pls check them out when their up
Beautiful work my fellow Canadian! Followed & supported, Looking great, Since 3 months ago they have grown up to be amazing healthy plants. Keep up the great work if you should ever need any help please feel free to DM me
Hey there friend. Would you be alright with me offering some pointers? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit.
I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily.

For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1. Hydro is slightly different. We want 5.6-5.8 for hydro.
This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil.

As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they gh sidedo not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully.
So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own.
