Got new brand seeds so of course had to try the new autos, chose Triks since I had 12. 85 days out from here will be harvest on @ September 5. Time for one more round before no more time.
Really hot and dry this week, kept forgetting about them they dried out a couple times.. But got them transplanted on day 9 of life to their forever home.... One tricks by peas, two tricks back and sour diesel patch, and last orange sherbert by strawberries
Growing well, weather had cooled down and they got a good burst of energy from it. Pinched out tips on two in North side of yard, no bug protection trying to see if they have own pest resistance.
Two seem to be doing well in the back northeast corner, no borer problems yet.. 100 this week pretty hot. The one close to the tomato bed seems to be bit smaller but it's in the shade a little bit by the peas So pulling the peas so it gets full sun
Record high temperatures in the last week 107° yesterday. They seem to be doing well, no pest damage so far. 👌 One by peas is a bit smaller, pulling peas to stop shading it.
Heat wave is finally over. Pimps in the 80s, quarter inch of rain. Should see less struggling with the plants tolerating the heat. Tricks by tomato bed is smaller, it's been in shade. Pulled up peas so that shouldn't be a problem anymore. Good flower set, a couple more weeks of tucking water leaves underneath foliage to get light to the flowers.
All three are at quite different stages, the one in the northern west part of the garden is the most mature, looks like it only has about two weeks left. One next to it looks like it could take another three, and the one up in the tomato bed decided to LST itself onto the pea cage ...but it's still quite a bit behind because it got shaded by the peas
Started flushing last week, will continue to flush this week. One is approaching being ready within 10 days, the third one that's over in the tomato bed is lagging behind a little bit it's probably going to take another 2-3 weeks. I'm going to go ahead and start defoliating the western one and get her ready to harvest.
I am definitely growing these next year. They have supreme pest resistance 👌.. might have found one damaged bud in all three plants, definitely liking the autoflowers in their natural pest resistance defense.. probably enough, the one that got neglected the most and put back in by the corn with the borers did the best. Dry weight cured is 136 g. Dense, smokes slow and sweet 👌
