So first solo grow. I had intent on doing a solo Blueberry cheese and germinated that one first, it popped and sprouted pretty quickly straight from the hydroton pellets. I found the Peyote Gorilla a few days later and germinated it separately, then added it to the 16-8 light schedule I have the cheese on
Just checking PPM and PH every few days. Cheese is noticeably picking up, the Peyote Gorilla on the other hand is really dwarfed and not sure what to do with it yet. I'll just keep it going for now
I added the B-52 vitamin and Voodoo juice from AN, and def Kick-started my Blue Cheese. Definitely noticeable from last week. Oh yea I actually got rid of the Peyote lol just was not responding and I had another blue cheese around so I germ'd that one. That one sprouted with no issue, and I'll be throwing the vitamin and Voodoo on it this weekend so I'll be interested to see how it responds taking it this early. Also going to add Piranha to the mix this weekend on BC#1 , expecting another nice jump next week
So guys this was a rough a## week for BC#1 lol I don't have enough space to write everything I did but basically I noticed early stages of root rot. The roots weren't slimy yet but they were dark brown and just going every kind of direction, it didn't look normal. I wish I had taken pics of how it looked but I will make sure I document going forward. The plant growth also halted and the leaves were twisting weirdly. I grabbed Hydroguard and mixed it in with my nutes, took out B-52 and voodoo and just kept the base. The plant turned around big time and growth is picking up. The pics I have up are from after the treatment, I had to cut off a some of the roots and a dead branch which I hope wasn't a bad idea. I also added another air stone to both buckets, that should boost growth a bit. As far as preventing future rot, I added more hydroton pellets to both buckets to block light from the water, also turned up the humidifier and bumped but the exhaust.
BC#2 is getting all the knowledge I'm learning from #1 so it's looking like smooth sailing so far on that one
Week 5, a few changes made. I got rid of that box that I was using to get the plants closer to the light, and got straps to hang the light lower. And as expected, the temp went down about 5° and the humidity stayed in the late 70s-slight 80s RH finally. I think that's my sweet spot because I won't be able to get the temps much lower.
I also started topping, I put up a side by side of how it looked 2 days later and it's pretty nice. I removed a couple leaves that were blocking the lower growth and I'll probably leave this baby alone after the nutrient change tomorrow. I'm def bumping up the doses for the base, probably double.
As for BC#2, just humming along with no issues. I'm gonna kick her nutrients up quicker than I did #1 though and I'll see how it reacts.
Was incredibly frustrated with these girls but I'm back with updates. Started getting rust spots on the lower fan leaves around this week and it started spreading fairly quickly, on both plants. I wasn't too sure what it was and so I just kind of flushed the reservoirs and tinkered with the humidity. Nothing really seemed to work
So more of the rust spots, I was scared of over correcting so I just tried to research as much as possible and it seemed to be calcium defeciency. Apparently it's coming when using distilled water. I should've realized I would need additional nutrients to compensate. I went with Humboldts Cal Mag, 2mL per L. And we'll see how it looks
This week I noticed pretty significant growth after tying down the plants and getting light to other parts. The pictures def tell the story. I'll continue to monitor the rust, I'm still noticing some everyday but it's not spreading as fast. I will bump up the cal mag does next feeding change. Any suggestions would be welcome on how to stop the spread!
So the vegging was dragging and there wasn't much new to report so I'm back with a flowering update lol. I'm about 2 weeks I'm flowering. I'll update the details later this week but just wanted to get pics up for now. I'll get some pics without the LED lights too
