I soaked the seeds for 18ish hours, went direct to soil and 4 days later they poked up through and started going strong. Looking forward to this grow. #fastbuds make great strains and assume this one will deliver.
They are looking great, growing well. I gave them an extremely small shot of nutrients and the leaves are darkening a bit so will slack off for a week.
Pictures are day 17 from seed.
I started LST this week and should be done by end if week 4. I am now increasing my nutes as I think the plants have been underfed. I noticed some yellow tips on newest growth and I know my nute regime has been low, so assuming a deficiency. Boron, P or K likely. Aiming to correct and slowly increase as I go into full flowering. Pictures are day 28 from seed.
Coming right along. I upped nutes last two weeks but think I am still safe from over feeding. I will be finishing LST and defoliating a little this coming week.
Pictures are day 35. I gave this plant 1 litter of nutrients at the above concentration this week. Cracked main cola and now have it braced, taped and healing. Stem seemed a little brittle, so my feeding regime may be off for this plant.
This plant is a week behind the other 3. Coming right along despite snapping the main stem when manipulating, which seems to be healing after bracing and wrapping. I need to finish LST and defoliating before the end of week 6. I fed this one a slightly reduced amount of bloom and micro compared to the other 3 this week, so we will see how she responds. I added blackstrap molasses this week and will be adding it every week herein, albeit at a low concentration. I am already using powdered cane molasses so this is just to diversify the carbohydrates and micro nutrients in the soil.
Pictures are day 42
So I tried to defoliate this one more. It is a week behind the other three plants and it stretched a little this week but still ended up a bit smaller then the others. Flowers are coming in nicely. Let's see how this goes.
LTE is crap here. More pictures coming
So this plant is doing well. I went a little hard with pure water early last week in preparations for a week vacation, which likely washed out or utilized a bunch of nutrients. Anyway, some fading of the fan leaves started, but is substantially less then the other 3. They are fading fast. I feel like I have kept the nutrients fairly low this grow and suspect that I am seeing a P deficiency across all three plants. I am going to keep a weak supply of bloom and micro in the feedings for the rest of this week and see how they do. Hoping to see some major bulking and a slower fade this week.
Pictures are day 56.
This plant is starting to fade like the others. No real issues. Going to feed for one more week and let it ride till harvest. Lots of new pistils so hopefully it stacks up nicely
This plant is a week younger then the other three and could have probably stacked a bit more. It has a great smell. Visually this was my least favorite, but who knows. It might be a winner once cured.
So, I took these plants from seed to harvest over 81 days. Maybe a little longer then some would go, but I am glad I did. I underfed for most of this grow, but upped the nutrients in the last 3 to 4 weeks and this resulted in an explosion of growth all throughout the last two weeks when they were being fed water. I wanted to keep going but I was happy with everything and don't want to risk issues developing from growing too long. They had 24 hours of darkness, have been chopped and are now drying in the dark at 55%RH.
I am ecstatic that @fast_buds selected me to test their genetics and I think they have some winners here. Hopefully I can continue to partner with them on future genetics tests and show the versatility of their strains. Next up will be my 4 favorite plants from the last two grows and I am going to feed them a little more consistently to see how things turn out.
I have been reluctant to update this diaries harvest report, mainly because I felt like I never gave this plant the love and consideration of the others. It was a week behind the grow schedule of the other three plants grown in Summer 2022 and I decided to only harvest larger colas for the sake of saving time. With that in mind, I won't report the final dry weight as this would not be a fair representation of what this plant can achieve. Furthermore, i have been sick with COVID and other illness for months (stupid children) so I can't even accurately interpret the smell. Anyway. My opion has since switch because boy howdy this plant has an enjoyable smoke and high. I will expand on this later.
This plant responded well to LST, producing a bunch of evenly spaced branches that all developed similarly sized colas. I tried a hybrid nutrient approach to supplement the General Hydro with a living soil fed with complex carbohydrates. Although the plants were underfed, they produced dense sticky nugs with a nice aroma. Very good coating of trichomes and a very good smoke. Will touch on this later.
