Taking what the producer says about the plant's height, four days ago I transplanted the seedling to its final pot, an experimental 7l pot with a very tall profile. Before transplanting, I made holes around the edge to improve substrate aeration and alleviate the possibly high moisture retention due to the pot's great height... I'm curious to see how this particular root development offered by this pot influences the plant's growth. At the time of transplanting, I did the first deep watering to moisten the entire substrate; part of this watering was done from the base. I prepared a watering mix to help with rooting (Honey and Lacto auxins) and started with the inoculation of Mountain Microorganisms (MM) with my MMA Basic. I keep the seedling in the grow tent at night, with quite a bit of light intensity on it, to promote compactness, during the day, it enjoys the summer sun! 🌞 Until next time... Taking what the producer says about the height of the plant, I'm growing in an experimental 7L pot with a very tall profile (42cm x 17cm x 13cm), I've made holes around the edge to improve substrate aeration, this week I added a thick layer of mulch, organic matter that I get from the dry leaves of the trims that I mix with the mulch and substrate I recover from the top 3-4cm of my harvested pots, a material I really appreciate and with a great load of microbiology and hard elements like stems, chips, straw, etc. in the process of biological degradation that I have been recycling for several seasons, it's impressive to see the spread of microbiology in the bag where I store this material, with a little moisture I keep the microorganisms active and when I add it as mulch, I'm also providing the minerals and nutrients recovered from the upper mulch, ultimately, all my resources delve into the concept of reuse and self-sufficiency in cultivation... I'm not inventing anything! After a few days since the first deep watering, I added new soil on the surface to compensate for the loss of height of the initial substrate and did a new watering aimed at keeping the upper half of the pot moist, the plant looks happy and is growing, next I made an apical cut above the fourth node, the lateral branches are already developing with their own personality, I want to be attentive to start shaping the crop with ties, I'm seeing a plant with cabbage morphology, 😜😁😁😋 short and with a balanced canopy, among other things because I have to slow down the height growth, since the pot itself is very tall, I think it will ultimately be an entertaining crop with an ending yet to be resolved. Fifth week from seed, the plant is responding very well to the apical cut, the branches are growing and the leaves are expanding, I’ve started shaping the grow with multiple ties to the branches and tips, it seems the plant is happy in its tall pot, I do light watering, just to recover lost moisture, and to keep the upper half of the pot moist, I assume there’s already enough moisture at the bottom for now, when water consumption increases, I’ll switch to deep watering, for now, my main interest is in promoting strong root development throughout the pot. Due to the high temperatures, I’m watering with mixtures of Bio Stimulants and minerals (Algae, Amino Acids, Bio Coco), I add molasses to compensate for the loss of sugars, I continue with the inoculation of Mountain Microorganisms in the substrate. Second week since switching to 12/12h, pre-flowering has begun 🌼👍, floral buds are popping up everywhere!! This week the plant has shown it's ready for the big game, water consumption has increased a lot, the branches are each looking for their place in the canopy. I've bent the two main branches that were sticking out too much from the rest of the plant, the reaction has been immediate, the tips are turning towards the light and the branches, eager, are growing towards the canopy! I've managed to reduce the height of the plant, this week it's 2 cm shorter and many more branches!! The tall pot is doing its job, I hope long roots fill the entire pot, I'm eager to progress with this grow, normally in my grows the height of the plants doubles or triples the height of the pot, in this case I've reversed this, now the pot is much taller than the plant itself, I think this root system is going to make this plant unique... shall we dance? 💃😁 In this growing season I'm experimenting with EC concentrations much higher than usual, also with massive inoculation of Microbiology to the substrate, so that the rhizosphere is very functional in nutrient transfer, I focus on giving structure to the soil to improve nutrient assimilation and root mobility, I've started making early applications with my Potassium Hydrolysate from Leonardite (humic acids), also my mix of cooked dry amendments, which contains a third of Worm Humus, and the semi-decomposed organic matter from microorganisms that I add as mulch helps structure the substrate, the microorganisms work happily in my substrates, they always find food, energy, and minerals, and the reflection of all these processes is shown in the grow... life goes on! 🌲👨‍🌾. Third week of flowering, great progress in the grow, the buds are growing bold and immaculate, the stems are strengthening, and the leaves are expanding to catch as much light as possible! Since my main tent was saturated with 8 tied plants, and I move my pots around a lot, I've had several branch breakages, the latest being a main branch from the 3M ▲ LΛVΛ CΛKΣ grow. I've decided to set up a small tent of 40x40x140cm for this plant and my other grow 3M ҂ ѦϏѦ ϏαϦȫȫ᧗. The narrow pot of this grow has helped me cultivate two plants in this small tent, to relieve space in my main tent and improve light entry for all the plants. I've placed two 50w COB LEDs with 60° and 90° lenses in the canopy, with color temperatures of 3500K and 2800K. On one side, I've placed 3 LED BARS: 660nm/450nm/6400k/3000k - with a 140° angle - Ratio 7/1/1/1 of 60cm and 33w... all for the cause! The shape and height of the plant are favoring intense light entry through all the gaps, so I'm hoping for huge and very dense colas! The pot with its super high and narrow proportion is helping, as it takes up little space in the tent and allows me to arrange it in the best way; also, so far I have no complaints about its performance in relation to the plant. Water consumption is moderate; I water deeply every 3-4 days, using various mixes of Bio Fertilizers, with higher concentrations than in past seasons. Twelve weeks from seed, sixth week of flowering, day 77 of cultivation... and oh surprise! my first day as a Guru on GD, thanks to the blessing of my Scottish master Yoda @Jobbie, thank you, sir! 😍 - Hey, what does guru mean?... Nothing!! 😁😁😁 The plant progresses patiently, waiting for the day to move to the main tent and receive more and more light, while the buds develop vigorously. Today I removed the ties at the base so the plant can open up a bit, as soon it will have more horizontal space. I also did a foliar application with hydrogen peroxide to prevent mold on the leaves, as the past days have been very humid and hot. I also added dry amendments activated with MM and covered it with mulch that I collect from the leftover marijuana I smoke daily! In the case of this plant, the effect of these black days has been negative; the overall appearance is of premature aging, it has lost many leaves and the buds have lost density. Now that it's back in the light, it has started to consume watering water, something that completely stopped during the darkness period. Let's see if it recovers this week, and if not, I'll cut it. Eighth week of flowering and this coming week will be the last of cultivation, after the dark trance I mentioned last week, I've decided to give this plant a chance, I've cleaned the tails of dry leaf remnants, placed it very close to my best lights, the density of the tails has increased and I will do my best to fatten them up these last days. I've done a deep watering, mainly with Bio stimulants (Bio Algae, Amino Acids, and MMA Plus), and I continue to add PK with each watering, using my potassium humate from leonardite and phosphorus and potassium chelated with Activated Mountain Microorganisms in liquid form. Although the plant still hasn't recovered its previous water consumption levels before the dark period, this is increasing and I expect good results...
