This is the start of my first official grow. As my first strain I chose this crystal candy mainly for the yield but also attracted by the flavor profile that is described by the producers. The weather this summer will cause me some problems with the temperatures but I will do everything to maintain the correct microclimate. What can I say, good luck to me!

The vegetative period begins! Currently the water level touches the bottom of the netpot but as soon as I see a radicle emerge I will begin to lower it. I will keep 1 ppm of sodium hypochlorite inside the solution throughout the cultivation cycle to keep the whole system sterile and avoid root rot (This level is not toxic to cannabis). The pH of the nutrient solution seems to be right without my making any changes (I only use RO water), I continue to monitor.

The first week of vegetative growth was really tough. After a few days the seedlings showed symptoms of root rot due to the temperature and the humid environment, I increased the chlorine concentration to 3ppm and carefully cleaned the roots (which appeared white anyway) and the substrate. Development seems to have slowed down slightly but the problem appears to be limited to the first two leaves. I will keep 3 ppm of chlorine for the whole week and next week I will go down to 2.

And here is the second week of vegetative. The root rot problem was solved and the plants recovered well also from the sterilization of the substrate. I'll lower the chlorine level to 2ppm. Plants show symptoms of a slight nutrient burn I will see how to fix this as the EC is correct for the growth phase. In the last few days, growth is speeding up exponentially and the plants are already starting to develop many side branches even though their size remains small and compact.

Okay okay, end of the third week of vegetative. I realized that the plant was suffering from a nitrogen deficiency a little late in fact by increasing the EC of the solution the growth began to speed up exponentially, it seems a much greedier autoflowering than the norm. I raised the water level inside the pot and lowered the chlorine ppm to 1. I think in a few days I will start with LST. Update: Today I applied LST to the plants in order to obtain the space to grow them in the same pot.

Well, the vegetative phase is over. The LST allowed me to partially break the apical predominance of the plant by making it develop homogeneously under the small grow light. The plant in this pre-flowering period is growing at an absurd rate, also developing an excellent root system. I keep the chlorine at 1ppm and change the solution to one more suitable for the growth phase.

A few days ago during the routine measurement I found that the EC had gone from 1070 to 1150 and the pH from 5.9 to 4.7. I instantly decreased the ec and brought the ph to the norm. Today the ec had stabilized but the pH continues to drop 6.1 -> 5.2. Some idea? What happens?

Check out this site and go down to the pH section. Very informative. https://manicbotanix.com/hydroponic-nutrient-science/ It is most likely your nutrient buffers wore off, so now you have to stabilize it with pH up. I find it better to add pH up twice over the same day to get the pH much more stable. It is easy to add pH up, see 6.1 then walk away, but an hour or two later the pH is really much lower. Your pH is largely attributed to your nutrient ratios and the cation and anion exchanges. I doubt you have bad bacteria built up using chlorine. If you go to that site and read that section, it will give you much more information than I can in this chat box.

The two weeks of pre-flowering are almost over, one of the two plants is entering into flowering forcefully, the other is a bit more timid. Lately I have been having some trouble maintaining a stable EC as the plants are really drinking a lot, I will continue to add RO water to the tank until the EC stops increasing. However for the small lamp I am growing with I am getting amazing results, I expect great things for the future!

Hi everyone! My girls are on the 6 day of full bloom, I noticed that there are many bud sites covered by fan leaves. I would like to defoliate but looking on the web I saw that those who do it on autos almost always get smaller yields due to the stress caused. What do you say?

I would try and use LST before defoliating an auto, The lower yield is not worth it. Other option could be to try and bend some of the leaves out of the way without fully removing them. Granted an ultra conservative defoliation could work just for a few sites on the plant if you feel its warranted. The first week of flowering is over, I was expecting something explosive but it seems that the plant is still trying to stretch, today I switch to the proportions of nutrients for flowering. I'll start from half concentration up to the maximum. The apexes of the plant have reached 10cm from the lamp but I have no more space in the growbox, I hope the plant is smart enough not to approach further until it burns haha.

The second week of flowering is also gone, I think it is blooming a little slowly but it seems that the plant is still concentrating on growing the apical branches on which the buds will then grow. I'm having some humidity problems but I bought another extractor to increase the air mixing inside the growbox.

In the last week the grow went well were it not for a day where a heat wave caused a lot of damage to the plant. However this week I have removed a lot of dry leaves from the underside of the plant and applied tie rods to keep weaker branches in place.

Resin and flower development has literally exploded this week. I had to put in several threads to keep the plant straight and in place as it fell off on its own. I intend to harvest at the end of next week as many flowers have yet to finish developing but if necessary I will wait another week. My mouth is watering already!

The eleventh week of growth is over! I was planning to harvest at the end of this week but I see a lot of growth potential in the little nuggets, most likely I will have to wait another week although I won't go any further as the bigger flowers are already quite ripe. I can no longer resist the smell is something exceptional! : P

Your grow is definitely doing its fade and looking good and MIGHT be ready to chop soon - but you need to get a closer look at the trichomes - even if it's zooming in with your camera and then zooming in on the resulting picture... you'll want to see all of them milky with some turning amber... As far as the plant still being full of small buds, that's not surprising given the jungle you've got going! LOL! I had the same thing happen with my Tangerine Dream.. so what I did was to harvest the top third or so and give the lower buds another couple of weeks.. this didn't help to increase their size particularly but what it DID do was allow the trichomes on the smaller buds to ripen fully... and they WON'T be ripe when the trichs on top are ripe... they will STILL need more time... All in all, I was happy to harvest that way - I hate trim jail with a passion and that allowed me to spread out my trim work! Good luck!

The harvest is getting closer! The last buds are finishing ripening and everything is going well. In these last 5 days I will only add RO water to flush the flowers and the day after tomorrow I will partially carve the stems of the two plants at the base to generate stress and stimulate the production of THC.

@ArthurStotch, I had read it some time ago on a forum, the boy claimed that the plant feeling attacked by an bug would stimulate the production of THC in a defensive way. I'm not sure it works either, but it costs me nothing to try!
