It's the third week of life for this sativa queen, very good progress; today I transplanted her into a 12L fabric pot. The last time I grew her in a 7L fabric pot. I did a first watering to moisten the entire substrate, using a mix of honey and my auxin lacto-ferment to promote rooting, with Activated Mountain Microorganisms to inoculate microbiology into the substrate and Ormus to regulate the pH of the mix and provide minerals. A few days ago, I also made an apical cut above the third node; well, that's what I thought, because in the end, according to the photos, I made a FIM cut or a poorly done one. If I see that the development of the new apices isn't interesting, I'll make another apical cut soon. Since the apical cut, I've been doing foliar applications with amino acids and auxins to redirect energy to the lateral shoots. It's the fourth week from seed, the plant is growing and strengthening, I didn't like the FIM cut I made, this week I cleanly cut the top apex, the positive thing is that I slowed down the vertical growth, but I'm still not seeing the shaping of this plant clearly, I've started tying down the lower branches, waiting for the central apex to define itself. Fantastic week of direct sunlight, very hot days, I keep this plant and all the others very hydrated, I've been doing almost daily watering with less water volume, just compensating for the loss of moisture and trying to keep the upper half of the substrate moist, during the day I spray water on the mulch and moisten the fabric pot... all to ensure this plant withstands and feels comfortable! I grow in a mixed indoor/outdoor mode, the light schedule I have this time of year, especially on sunny days, is as follows: I turn on the grow tent with all the plants (10) at 11:00 PM, at 8:00 AM I start taking plants out of the grow tent and move each one to its sunny spot, at 8:15 AM I turn off the grow tent, all the plants are in the sun until 2:00 PM, after that time, I place the 3 largest plants, including this Queen Mother, in my sunset window, where they get direct sunlight from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the 5 younger plants go into a homemade grow tent, lit with a Spider Farmer SF 1000 lamp at 60% power (50w), I leave them there from 2:00 PM to 8:30 PM, then I put all the plants to sleep until 11:00 PM. I enjoy doing all these operations with my plants, I aim to promote maximum metabolism, I also seek to compact the plants from the start, giving them plenty of light, I aim to lower the electricity bill, saving about 20% with this method, but that's not the important part; the more important thing is the light spectrum that the sun offers, no lamp can compare, I get everything from UV rays to IR, passing through all color temperatures, and the sunset sun... I think we understand each other! I’ve released some lower ties, they are no longer necessary, the branches they were holding are now woody enough to maintain their shape. deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers and also to those lucky enough not to be! 👨‍🌾💦💡🌞🌲 Queen Mother is a stabilized sativa strain, thanks to the meticulous and systematic work of selection and maintenance by breeder Mario Bellandi, who has been based in Spain for 30 years, developing it tirelessly and with maximum consistency. The initial cross of this strain, which remains intact today, emerged in the late 90s from an unknown sativa, grown in the highlands of Tarragona (Spain) by the same person since the 60s, some seeds from the island of Réunion, and seeds from a stabilized cross of two Congolese landraces... Almost 15 weeks from seed, this sativa strain is paired in lights, substrate, and lifespan with 3M ✫ Qᴜᴉcᴋ Sիԑʀßԑէ ► Ɽeløaɗ, and both plants are by far the most outstanding, with this lifespan, of all the grows I've done so far... but this one is the Queen! 👸 Nine weeks into flowering, the buds keep growing with a youthful appearance, the plant has started to shed its larger leaves, there’s still a lot of energy in this plant and I want to push it to the limit; I think it can still hold on for 7 to 10 days before I cut it. Currently, I've harvested several plants and the survivors have more light in the grow tent, to help make the end glorious. The last few days have been very cloudy and rainy; I would love a sunny day to brighten the last days of this great plant. Out of conviction and in rebellion against the price of electricity, I grow in mixed mode, indoor/outdoor, during flowering, when I expect sun the next day, I keep the plants in the tent for 9 hours, and 3-4 hours in the morning sun. If the day is cloudy, the plants stay in the grow tent with 12 hours of light. During the sleeping hours, I gather all my plants in a dark room, with a large oscillating fan; this way I manage to disconnect 5 fans and 2 extractors, plus the plants are much more comfortable because there’s free space between them... let the game continue! 🖐️😍 Until next week... The harvest came after eleven weeks of flowering, a bit more than the producer announces, but the truth is that the plant enjoyed the summer and resisted aging, showing a lot of vigor throughout the grow. Out of conviction and in rebellion against the price of electricity, I grew this plant in mixed mode, indoor/outdoor, during flowering. When I expected sun the next day, I had the plants in the tent for 9 hours, and 3-4 hours in the morning sun. If the day was cloudy, the plants stayed in the grow tent for 12 hours of light.
