toadwalla Last week has been over 100 and a few days over 105 F - making sure they have enough water (drip + supplemental hand watering) and no problems I can see.
Last week fed ammonia on two days (each dose = 20 ml/gal/plant) and watered in 25 g struvite powder each plant one time.
These plants stretched 12 inches in one week with hot weather, clear sky, but also less wind.
toadwalla I've let up on the ammonia feed because it's just been unrelenting heat. Increased struvite feed by top dressing and watering in - seems effective.

toadwalla Continued to be over 100 F during the day all week. Took a break from fertilizer applications. Looks like they're ready to start flowering, should be interesting. Noticed more insects around, mostly ants which are always problematic - mixing up the boric acid sugar water tomorrow. Planning to throw a net over it this week too.

toadwalla Had to get out a ladder to throw a net over these plants. Found 6" x 6" jute netting that seems to work great. All looking good so far.

toadwalla Still hot more than 100 F, some wildfire smoke in the air this week too. Haven't done much this week besides deep watering in the morning and picking off yellow leaves. So far so good!

toadwalla This week the branches got heavy and tall plants started to lean. I tied up the net and problem solved. Looks like I got the net on just in time - lesson learned.
Also realizing that when your plants are 10 ft you don't spend much time looking at the flowers, but easy to pull off dead leaves from the interior.
Still have not had time for any extra feeding or care, but plants seem to consuming interior leaves at a normal pace so not worried...tbd

toadwalla Weather has been hot and clear. Plants seem to be enjoying and flowers looking good so far. Plants still dropping internal leaves. Happy to see purple color on GS flowers. I suspect the hot weather impacts the flower smell/color but I have no experimental controls.

toadwalla Just extra hand watering this week. No nutrients again. Looks like the grape skunk is ripening faster than green crack. Really hot every day, usually 100 to 110 F. Wondering if/how the heat could impact flower development - so far looks normal but expecting terpene losses.

toadwalla Heat wave continued this week with temps up to 110 F during day and 80 F at night. Flowers developing well but heat still a concern on quality. Max day temps in the 80s and 90s F going forward, still seems warm; the grape skunk is flowering faster than I expected. I would have preferred cooler temps for flower development.

toadwalla The heat finally broke and temperature cooled off to 80 - 90s F during the day and cooler at night. Rain in the forecast; and branches are getting heavy - not a great combination.

toadwalla Stopped hand watering and just monitoring as things ripen. Big storm last week caused minor damage (lost a branch). Everything got washed in the storm and now back to dry and 90s F again. Down to 60 F at night. Not long to go!
