Grow Questions

I have 2 seedlings in FFOF that are 2 weeks old and struggling! I might have overwatered and caused nute lock? They are green, just not growing. Their sister in expert gardener is on the same water schedule and is double the size. Do I just let them get bone dry and then flush?

Hi! Roots need to be on a Wet/Dry cycle, with short phases (slight waterings), my guess is that 1) you may have been overwatering and 2) her medium might be too rich. You can try to raise up your relative humidity and if you think its a nutrients issue, stick to plain pH’d water for a few days before using foliar spray with small doses of fertilizer. Hope they’ll be alright, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

And everything is supposed to grow and stay inside the box ? 😳

JUNGLE_B4RNScommented7 years ago
@GrowthimusMaximus, white paint for bathroom or laundry, or mylar sheets .

@JUNGLE_B4RNS, thank you so much! That is what I will most likely do then. Do you think I would need reflective material set up around the closet then? Any suggestions? 😂

@GrowthimusMaximus, I would do a lil cleaning first , then I will use the closet entirely. Believe me, that box will be to small in a few weeks 😉

What reflective material are you using in your box? Mylar?

@GrowthimusMaximus, so...I've seen lots of people use foil in a pinch. However from what I've been told tin foil can generate like heat pockets, where it can potentially burn and damage a plant. It doesnt absorb and distribute heat evenly the way that mylar would. I know the shopping list for growing is always getting bigger, but if you can swing it, I'd setup some makeshift mylar box. Otherwise most tents are already lined and ready too.

@Experimentgreen, 😨 no it is tin foil. Should I switch to mylar ASAP? Or am I safe to wait a bit? It's very cool in the box. I have 3 fans going in the closet

As already mentioned I would definitely setup a bigger grow space, I’m growing royal dwarfs, mainly for there “dwafrness” and there already crowding up my 60x60x140 tent 😂 don’t panic too much at the beginning, I would give no nutes for the first week or two, just water ph’d 6.5. They will get everything they need from the water, then once they got a bit of growth slowly add nutes, I like to add half of what the recommended dosage is for the first few weeks. I hope this helps 😊

Fans and fox farms soil and nutrients should arrive today. I have 2 seeds going into the Fox and just planted 1 seed in some Expert Gardener Potting Mix I had laying around home. Got plent of seeds, so I thought I would expirement a little and see what works best. Lights are two 100W led's, starting ~15inches above soil, using spring water to water. Two seeds are going into a coco weaved basket, and one going into a burlap pot.

@Larimar, ok that's the plan then! Will be interesting to see how she does compared to the2 in fox farms.

@GrowthimusMaximus, i would say let the seed into the soil and watch how she comes out.. and if you transplant give her good soil

@Larimar, I planted the first seed this morning around 8am. If the fox gets here tonight, is it too late to try and carefully move the seed into new soil?? Less than a day planted
