Started my germination of Purple OG Punch by Ganja Farmer Seeds. Very excited for the contest!
For accurate measurements I am using 1 gal of coco.
I add about 20-30% perlite to my coco and I will be mixing in 30ml/g of Gaia Green's Worming casting in as well as 45ml/gal of Gaia Green's All Purpose 4-4-4.
I plant directly into the soil, and add a dome for high humidity. Now we wait!
Day 1 July 17
Broke soil this morning! Still has the seed on the plant, if it is still on tonight I will gently remove with tweezers.
Removed the dome and misted the soil. Keeping room warm and humid
Day 2 July 18
Was able to remove the seed shell.
Moved under my seedling lamp at 5k lux to start her life!
Day 5 July 21
Looking nice and healthy. Spraying the soil few times a day with pH'd water 6.5. Had light watts dimmed 50% by accident at work one day and they stretched. No worries :)
Start of week 2! July 24
First week went well, and the seedling lamp once turned up to 100%, it worked well for them. With hot temps this past week they needed 25ml of water twice as well as daily sprayings.
Today I decided it was time to get them in a proper home so I put together my mars hydro 2.5x2.5 tent and put in a SF1000w and a Viso Sun 4 inch inline fan. This is a non dimmable version so it is at 41" from top of plant and putting out 8.8k lumens. Temps and humidity are pretty much bang on!
Going to be a good week with the new light for them!
Day 11 July 28
Been mid/high 30° outside so I have been battling the heat in the tents. Sitting around 26/27°C but will be over soon! They don't seem to be bothered and I am making sure they are getting enough water daily at 6.5pH. Humidity has been sitting around 60%
Start of week 3! July 31
Beat the heat wave! Sat around 30° in the tent the whole time, but finally it will be back to normal temps starting tomorrow. Watered daily and just kept an eye to make sure the heat never got too bad. Hoping for faster growth now that environment will be back to normal
August 4
Starting to get a little bit of purple stems. Not too sure why, checked my water in and out and it is 6.5. I know I have grown some strains very sensitive to LEDs and turn purple, but who knows we will see.
Been watering everyday just about until run off of 6.5pH.
Start of week 4! Aug 7
Transplanted into half gal container. The roots looked very nice!
Mixed coco with 20% perlite and 25% Gaia Green worm castings. Top dressed 15ml/gal Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4. Watered very well after as we are in another heat wave here. Will top in 2 days
Day 26 Aug 11th
Took very well to the transplant and is loving the new pot. Daily water at 6.5 pH. Topped to the 4th node today
Start of week 5! August 14
Getting daily water of 6.5 pH. Topping went well, plant responded quickly and the lower branches sprouted up quickly. Doing some leaf tucking as well to help! I have to flip in a couple days to finish on time for the contest. Other then that, the plant is healthy and growing well. I am going with the LED is turning the stems red as it is only om the top half of the stem and my ph in and out is stable
August 15
I decided to transplant today as I am flipping on wednesday. I don't want to, but the contest will be over soon. The final pot for flowering is 1 gal. I mixed Coco with 20% Perlite and 25% Worm Castings from Gaia Green. I did 50/50 Gaia Green All Purpose 4-4-4 and Power Bloom 2-8-4 at 15ml/gal. Will update when I flip
August 18 Day 1F
Flipped to flower and I will count this as day 1, but will keep an eye on when buds start to form. Looking nice and healthy, and seems to be no issues even though the heat is kicking our ass atm. Excited for flowering. Doing simple leaf tucking atm and will see if I do any other training
Start of week 2 flower! August 25
This past week was rough on this plant. The never ending heat finally won and this girl starting to show signs of light/heat stress so I removed her from the tent for 1 day just to get out of the intense light. My last harvest is done drying so the 5x5 is now free!
I moved this girl into the 5x5 being powered by an SE7000 sitting at 32" from canopy and running at 60% power. Already with a cooler environment and the lights turned down the plant is showing happy signs, so I am going to just continue to water for a few days then top feed. The stretch is also in full swing, and it's growing a great even canopy all without any LST.
Aug 28
Started to show buds forming today, so here we go! Excellent growth during the stretch and became a pretty decent size for the small veg. Added 15ml/g cal mag to todays watering
Start of week 3 flower! Sept 1
Going great so far, plant is looking healthy and growing at a fast pace. Canopy ended up becoming pretty even with just one topping, and I did very small defoliation this morning. Getting 6.5 pH water daily, and have been adding cal mag every second watering for the past week. Will be top dressing in a few days
Sept 02
Top dressed today as leaves started to show light green. 15ml/gal Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4
Start of week 4 flower! Sept 8
Everything is going smooth for this plant. Stretch is over and it is going to be full flower mode soon! Been watering daily with 6.5 pH water as well as adding cal mag to almost every watering at the moment. Later today will be doing a very small defoliation.
Start of week 5 flower! Sept 18
Growth of the buds, and trichome production is looking great so far! Unfortunately for this grow I forgot that I switched to coco from living soil, which means I was watering with 6.5 pH instead of 5.8. The last week or so I started getting brown/rust spots and yellowing leaves starting lower on the plant. Tried multiple solutions until I realized it was a pH issue (hopefully). Yesterday I flushed the plant with 5.8 pH water and until decent amount of run off. Will continue to water at 5.8 pH and monitor the symptoms.
I also top fed for the last time this grow! 15ml/gal of Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4
This plant has the most trichome production so far in the tent.
Day 31F Sept 21
Did one last small defoliation too open up the middle a bit. Buds are growing nicely and the trichome production is fantastic so far. This plant smells absolutely beautiful, very nice candy kush scent. Very excited for late stage flower!
Continuing to water daily at 5.8 pH water, and keeping my eye on the slight pH issue I was having.
Start of flower week 6! Sept 24
Another week went by and this plant is doing great! Besides this small issue that seems to be slowling down, it is producing very nice buds with really good trichome production. The smell is one of the best I have ever grown! Absolute beautiful aromas of fruity kush that make you say "oh yaaaa :)" literally...
Watering at 5.8 pH seems to really be slowing down the issue I had
Lower temps at night are starting to turn the buds purple.
Lights are now around 90%
Start of week 7 flower! Oct 1
This past week went really well. Environment is spot on with 18°c night time, 24°C daytime and 45% RH. This plant went through flower really fast. Buds are starting to swell now and have been fully brown pistils for a few days. Haven't looked at trichomes yet, I will take a peek after this week. The smell is still a very strong scent of fruity gas that makes you want more!
Trichome production has been stellar, making for some nice bag appeal. End of the show is about done, very excited for this harvest!
Oct 4
This plant has officially taken over the tent for smell. As soon as I open my grow room I get hit deep in the nose with the most sweet fruity gassy smell. These terps are insane, and with the looks of these buds, I am very excited to smoke! Nearing the end, another week or so. Lots of purple coming through and leaves dying just on time
Start of week 8 flower! Oct 8
The last week went great. Great environment and just cruising to the end. Nice purples have taken over and a very strong aroma of Sweet and Fruity just takes over the whole room. Very terpy and unreal bag appeal. Will probably chop after this week!
Just watering daily at 5.8 pH
Start of week 9 flower! Oct 15
This plant is just about done! Been crusing the last couple weeks; with watering needed! Will check in the morn of the 17, will prob get chopped!
The bud structure is beautiful, nice golf ball sized nugs that are very dense and have an insane aroma. Very sweet and fruity! Very excited to smoke
Will be planting another one of these seeds in the next week.
