Mykos - Xtreme Gardening
Mykos 1.302 mll
7/14/22 - Germinated in a glass of 25% solution hydrogen peroxide/filtered tap water. After 36-48 hours the tap roots emerged from their shells. 7/16/22 - Transferred to Grass Roots 1 gallon bottomless fabric pots filled with Fox Farms Happy Frog soil with a light mix of cover crop from True Leaf Market that was planted a few days prior. Mixed in 1 teaspoon of Xtreme Gardening Mykos into the top layer of soil in the center of the pots were the seeds were planted and the top of the soil was moistened with filtered tap water in a spray bottle. Light cycle 24/0. Pots were covered with a clear plastic dome to retain moisture. Conditions: Temperature: 78.7F Humidity: 80% 7/18/22 - Seedlings emerged from the soil. Cut back some of the cover crop around the seedling to ensure that they have access to the full light. Using all 4 T5 lights with the height set at 16" from the soil surface measuring. Dome is still over the pots to retain moisture. Conditions: Temperature 78F Humidity: 78% 7/19/22 - Cut back a little bit more of the cover crop. Changed light cycle to 18/6 and lightly watered.

7/20 - Dome was removed. 7/22 - Found soil to be pretty dry. Haven't really seen any growth over the past couple of days. This is the first time using cover crop in the veg container and didn't account for their water usage. Gave a heavier watering with some Mykos and a pinch of recharge to give the soil a boost. 7/24 - The T5 CFL fixture I've been using for veg had two bulbs burn out. I didn't have any replacement on hand so I switched the veg lights over to my two Viparspectra P1000 lights. They're set at 20" @ 75% giving 320 PPFD to each plant according to the Photone app on the iPhone. Not completely accurate but its good enough for the girls I go out with. The pots seemed a bit top heavy from the heavier watering given a few days prior so I gave some straight filtered water to the bottom evening out the pots moisture. 7/26 - Finally seeing growth again. Soil moisture is good. Temps have been a little low since its really cool in the basement and the grow rack being in an open area. The previous harvest is almost done drying and then I'll be able to move these girls into it where its easier to control the environment. 7/29 - The 4x2 grow tent finally opened up. I got it cleaned out and moved the seedlings over to it. The automated humidifier and the exhaust fan are doing a lot better keeping the temp and humidity in the right place. Lights are still set at the same distance and strength as before. 20" @ 75%. PPFD readings are still at 320 per plant. Still seeing growth. I've also started getting the 4x2 grass roots living soil bed ready for these ladies. Cover crop has been put down and I've been slowly amending the soil.

For the next couple weeks of veg it will be pretty much the same routine. Filtered tap water in the soil to keep it moist and foliar sprays alternating between nutrients/teas and IPM. Growth this week was wasn't much but already seeing a bunch of roots filing out the bottom of the pot so it seems most of its energy was in root growth. Also seem to be slightly nutrient deficient. Will keep an eye on this. Also working on getting the raised bed ready. Cover crop is down and filling in. Re-amendments have finally arrived and will be breaking down the cover crop and topping up on amendments and worm castings in the next week or so. 8/2 - Time to water again. Watered the soil with filtered tap water and also applied a foliar feed of Fish Hydrolysate along with some Aloe Vera. Lightly watered in some of the foliar feed into the top few inches of the soil for a little extra Nitrogen availability. Keeping the cover crop cut back as to not block the light. 8/5 - First application of IPM solution consisting of aloe vera, natural soaps and neem oil. Soil is still moist so will not be watering today. 8/6 - Gave it a good watering of just plain filtered tap water. Added some additional water to the bottom tray to ensure the water evenly saturates the soil.

Finally starting to see some growth this week. I also bought some Blumat classic to see how they do in keeping them watered. I use Blumat Tropf's in the raised bed and I never have to manually water. The system has been working really well for me. The classics should be good for the 1 gallon pots up until its time to move them to the raised bed. If not, I'll remove them and go back to manually watering. 8/8 - Watered in again with plain filtered water. Also gave the cover crop a major cut back and broke it up and evenly spread over the surface of the soil. Growth is looking good. Still a little discoloration on #1 but growth is good. I think the compost tea I'll be brewing tomorrow should make sure its getting all the nutrients it needs. 8/9 - Started brewing a compost tea I'll be feeding them tomorrow. The compost tea recipe I'm using is the following. 5 gal De-Chlorinated Filtered Tap Water 1 tbs Fish Hydrolysate 1 tbs Unsulfured Black strap molasses 2 tbs Homemade EM5 1 tbs Down to Earth Kelp Meal 1 tbs Down to Earth Alfalfa Meal 2 cup Homemade Worm Castings 1 tbs Extreme Gardening Mykos 1 tbs Down to Earth Bio Live Mix everything together except for the last two ingredients and aerate for 16 hours. 8/10 - Just before feeding the compost tea I added the Mykos and Bio Live, mixed it in and aerated the tea for an additional 10-15 minutes. Diluted the tea 2:1 with more de-chlorinated filtered tap water and gave both of them a good soil drench. Applied the rest to the garden outside, the other three plants from my other grow, and the raised bed. Shortly after I installed the Blumat Classics. I'll be keeping an eye on the moisture level and see if the reservoir needs to be raised any to provide more water. 8/12 - The compost tea seems to be doing its job for #1 which had a slight discoloration. New growth looks healthy and really starting to take off. Today I applied a foliar of water, aloe, and neem oil.

This week was pretty busy so didn't tend too much to the garden and didn't keep notes of which days I did what. Just going off of the dates the images were taken. 08/13 - In the raised bed the cover crop was broken down and covered with a few inches of new soil consiting of 1/3 Peat, 1/3 worm castings, 1/3 pumice, and 2 cup of Craft Blend from Build A Soil. Also included some extra kelp, Down to earth Biolive, and Bokashi. Gave it a good watering with some homemade em5 at 1:500 filtered tap water. 08/18 - Gave them a good foliar spray with neem oil for IPM. 08/19 - Today I transplanted the 1G bottom fabric pots in the raised bed. I opened up the mulch layer around the bottomless fabric pots, sprinkled down 1/4 teaspoon of Rootwise Mycrobe Complete for each pot and set them right on top of the soil. This will allow the roots to grow right into the raised bed without having to remove the roots from the pot or dig into the raised bed and disturb the ecosystem that has been decomposing the last runs root system. I would think this should also reduce or even eliminate any tranpslant shock as well. I set the Mars hydro SP3000 to 50% @ 20".
