The seeds I planted didn't sprout because I saw tiny white bugs in the soil eating the seeds. I want to ask if this affects our plants?

My guess is they are springtails. They are detritivores (eat dead organic matter), but during germination they can cause trouble and eat the plant/seed before it breaks soil. Once it has opened, they generally leave it alone and are good for your soil. Add some mulch and they will eat it and turn it into compost. I leave my seeds in paper towel for 3 to 4 days, until the shell is off the cotyledons and plant the seed with the cotyledons above soil.

Throw out your soil, sterilize everything, and find a clean medium with no unwanted crawlies or fungi in it. Then, plant a new batch of seeds. Or, you could try rooted clones and see if that works. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Sawasdee P sway, I do not know what insects are eating your seeds. You can hang tape just above and on the outside of the pot with the sticky side on the outside. This way you can catch some insects make a picture from them and upload this picture on this website so that someone can identify them so that we can tell you if they are harmful or not.

swaygrower I forgot to adjust the pH to around 6.7 the first time I fertilized. Next time, I need to keep it stable to gradually lower it. Right now, the light is about 250 ppfd. I'm not sure if that's enough for the seedlings.

Hello! I'm responding in Thai. You can click the translate button to read it in Thai. Usually, the label on the fertilizer bottle will have instructions, which can vary by brand. But generally, it should be used within 24 hours. Good luck!

If your talking about runoff, it's good practice to remove it pretty much straight away. If your talking about a mixture of nutes then the brand your using is good for 7 days once mixed. If your talking about the diary with multiple auto strains then all you need is water with a root stimulator for 1st 3 weeks. Then it will be time to add nutes.

Personally, I don't store it - I'd rather mix a fresh batch every time I give it to my plants so I always try to figure out how much they're going to use and mix that. If I've mixed a little bit too much, well, it runs out the bottom of the pot and that's ok with me. When you talking about a small grow - a couple of plants - as opposed to an entire room full of them, then that's easiest to do AND safest... you'll know your plants are getting the best nutes they can have. Good luck...

You're feeding your autoflowers far too early in their life. They normally don't need ANY nutrients until they're 2 or 3 weeks old so I would advise you to stop feeding them and just give them plain pH'd water for another week or two. Then, when you start giving them nutrients, start them slowly with only 1/4-1/2 strength, increasing the dosage if the plants look like they're tolerating them. Also be aware that each plant MAY react differently than the any of the others - you'll have to treat them all as individuals. Good luck!

GrowingGrannieanswered grow question 4y ago
You've got a calcium deficiency probably caused by a lockout ... and just giving them calmag, as you are doing, will not fix the problem - you have to fix the cause. When you have a lockout, the plant is unable to absorb any calcium no matter how much you give it.... There are two avenues of approach here - you could simply give the plant nothing but pH'd water for a week or so and then when you reintroduce the nutes cut back on the Micro (it has heavy nitrogen in it - in fact, the NPK of it is 4-0-0 so it's almost ALL nitrogen)... OR you can flush your plants with 3X the pot volume of pH'd water adding in 1/2 strength nutes to the final gallon but cutting the Micro out completely. I would choose the last option myself - it's a pain in the neck but you want to get rid of the excess nutes and any built up salts that have accumulated in the soil... AND you don't want to waste time because autoflowers have a very short life span... The culprit here is the Micro - you can choose to either reduce the amount by at LEAST half or get rid of it altogether... plants in flower need a little nitrogen but not a lot.. and Micro has a lot... Good luck!

GrowingGrannieanswered grow question 4y ago
In your last question on this same issue, I suggested two steps you could take to correct the calcium deficiency... I think, looking at your diary, that you decided to take a middle-road approach and you reduced pretty much all of your nutrients but only a little. Now it's time for a full flush - you need to get those nitrogen-heavy nutrients out of the soil along with any build up of salts as this is what is causing the lockout of calcium. You will need to run 21 gallons of pH'd water through each plant - 3x the pot's volume - and then let them dry out before giving them nutes again. When you give them nutes, give them NO Micro at all, and about 1ml/l of the Grow and Bloom and 1/2ml/l of calmag ... for the first feeding after your flush, just ignore the other additives - you can pick them back up when you feed the second time. After flushing and their first feed, you can increase the Bloom nutes to normal strength but now leave the Grow nutes at 1/2 strength and, if you feel you MUST use the Micro, do not exceed 1/4 strength... it is THAT nute which is giving your plants excess nitrogen and causing these problems. Finally, when you give calmag as a normal part of your nute program, only give it once a week... I know running 21 gallons of pH'd water through your pots is an awful lot and it's going to be time consuming - but it really DOES need to be done now... Good luck!

Should have asked this question a lot earlier! They are hungry for nitrogen. Instead of continuing with "bloom" nutrients, give them a couple of doses of half strength "grow" nutrients, then go back to your "bloom" nutrients. The damaged leaves won't recover, but this should help things from getting too much worse.

Hi there From about week 4 flower you can add a NPK booster to give the that extra energy there now pushing for, Expect some yellow leaves towards the bottom of the plant because of the amount of foliage you have there, I would up the CalMag a bit too, Best of luck 🌱

Sawatdee krap, This is not an answer to your question, but I noticed something in your nutrients. When using Advanced Nutrients Ph Perfect, I've found it best to use one half the volume for the adjuncts as for the main nutrients. In other words, if you use 6 ml/gal of Grow/ Micro/Bloom, then you would use 3 ml/gal of B-52 and Piranha (and the other nutrients you'll add later in the grow). This has worked well for me and many others. Chokdee
