From the look of your soil, I would say you're giving it far too much water.... this can drown a plant and kill it. You need to let the soil dry out completely before giving her another drink. Seedlings have very little root structure and thus are prone to either drowning or damping off if they stay too wet for too long... less is more when it comes to watering them at this stage! She actually looks to be fairly healthy so I don't think you've done her in - just let her breathe a bit and she should start to perk up and grow. Good luck!

Hi, I just figured out why my seedling isn't growing: the tap root is broken!! it's very thin and broken into two points, connected only for a big portion. there are also two small roots on the top side but I don't know if it will survive, should I abort and make a new one?

So... you can abort and you won't get a plant out of this... OR you can keep going and MAYBE get a plant out of this! Your choice... but here's the thing - if you DO keep going (and I think you should), be very careful not to drown your seedling... if its got two little side roots going, a) I would DEFINITELY keep going and b) it will be VERY easy to drown them. Mist the soil with a sprayer instead of pouring water on it and wait for the soil to dry before giving it more. I think she'll surprise you! Good luck!

You don't give us a lot of information in your diary, honestly... Are you feeding them? What is the distance from the plant to the light? What's the pH you're maintaining? This is about the time you would want to start to introduce nutes for an autoflower so if you're not feeding, start with about 1/2 strength nutes and if they tolerate them, you can increase next week. And honestly, I wouldn't judge the size of my plant against anyone else's... different strains grow at different rates - just take care of YOUR ladies and enjoy THEIR journey. Good luck! It's not always the tallest and the strongest that are the best plants!

Hi, mi plant has 3 problems: the stem is too thin near the soil (idk if it's normal), mushrooms are growing everywhere in the soil (in a week i will add a fungicide, i hope it will help) and the first real leaves are stained (the one that created at the start, bottom right)

Thin stem is normal and ok, your plant "knows" what it is doing. Just pull the mushrooms out as they appear, they will stop eventually - a fungicide will harm other useful biological beings in your soil. The mushrooms are actually a sign of good health and they are breaking down the rough wood chips/bark in the soil mix. I wouldn't worry about the first leaves, they usually fall off quite soon anyhow.

You've got some kind of insect having lunch at your expense... it doesn't matter whether it's thrips or spider mites or aphids or... and it doesn't matter if you haven't actually seen them - you have them. So get yourself some Spinosad or some Dr. Zyme's Eliminator (Spinosad is best) and use it according to the directions.. Both are organic and can be used all the way through harvest if need be - with no effect on the buds or the taste of your harvest. This will kill the adults, the eggs, the larvae - and you will save your plants! Good luck!

You want to go with either 20/4 or 18/6. If you struggle getting temps up then go with the 20/4. If your temps are high then 18/6.

It's never too late -I've had to LST plants 2 weeks before harvest! - but I don't see the need here... You've got a nice, airy, well-lit plant that is doing extremely well. I don't think you'd gain much of anything! Good luck!

GrowingGrannieanswered grow question 2 years ago
18C at night is ok as long as day time temps get to be somewhere around 23C. You don't want to have much more of a difference between the two. Anything colder than that will see a slowing growth pattern and the plant may become stressed if the difference between the two temps is greater. The temperature that weed is happy growing in also depends a lot of the stage they're at - plants in veg need warmer temps and when in flower, they benefit from slightly lower temps... but all in all, I don't think you have anything to truly worry about. 18C is certainly within the range - or close enough to it - so they should be happy. Good luck!

Pretty depressed by throwing the bud away ): it was very dense, thick, and sticky! hoping for the best, and impatient for her to be ready, so I can start again with a new journey!

I would harvest now... I think I see some amber - but you're certainly close enough and that humidity is much too high... and since you've already found bud rot, I'd chop... but as you chop and as you trim, watch out for more rot. Cut whatever you find out taking a little bit more than you think necessary and then spray the area with a 1% alcohol solution to kill whatever spores may be lingering... keep your utensils and your hands sterilized at all times. If you DM me, please know I can't respond as it seems the system is broken... I've been banned from texting for days on end now and there is no reason for it at all... I've written to Grow Diaries (have to email them, can't text them) but of course I get no response... no one ever does... Good luck, Yoshi!
