Hey again, good to have everything set up again and I'm excited to see what this grow has in store for me. I treated myself to some new toys (BlueLabs pH meter and a better ppm meter) so I can avoid coco headaches like last time. As soon as I get done posting this I'll give my plants their first feeding, Calmag and some fox farms nutes. I'm glad I wrote down a lot of what I did last time since I've kind of forgotten since then. Oh well. Cheers to new plants.
Not a great week for these two. I was doing everything exactly how I did last time, but wasn't getting the same results. Growth was very slow this week, almost no change and it was bumming me out so I didn't take a whole lot of pictures. Gave the first feed on Aug 21. The pH at my new place has been way high (over 8) and I suspect it has a higher level of chlorine. I was able to fix the pH with baking soda or vinegar at my last place, but it wasn't working here so I ordered some pH up and down. It took a while to get here and my plants suffered in the meantime. I almost pulled them because I wasn't sure they would make it.
Flushed with un-pH'ed water 8/26 which was a big mistake I think. Not sure why I did that. 8/28 Fed them. Realized that Big Bloom has no nitrogen whatsoever which, along with funky pH probably was most of the problem. After I gave them some more Big Bloom and got my pH in check they started recovering and growing at a quicker pace. They still aren't perfect or where I'd like them at and definitely won't get as big of a harvest but oh well. I'm still learning at this point and they aren't gonna die probably so that's all I ask for.
Also, Tangerine Dream has kind of an interesting mutation. Can't see it too good in the pictures but after the first set of 3 fingered leaves, it split into three, kind of topped itself I guess? It grew on big set of 5 fingered leaves on one side and two more sets of 5 fingered leaves on the other side. Pretty cool.
Decent producer but took way too long. Could have been my stunting it in the beginning but it needed 97 days to grow and took forever to plump up. Smokes pretty good after a 2 week-ish cure and has a very slight grape smell so far. I listed the dry weight because I don't weigh wet.
Whoops sorry for leaving this journal to die. Got really busy in life. Long story short, Tangerine Dream recovered alright and started growing really fast! Then hermed on me so she got thrown out. I popped an Amnesia Haze seed from Barney's around that time just so I would have 2 plants going. LSD also recovered but still was a very slow grower. Ended up chopping LSD on day 97, dried 5 or 6 days then jarred. (dry trim) I wasn't impressed with the growth time and growth structure overall and I don't think I will grow this strain again soon but it did produce a decent harvest and the smoke isn't too bad. Definitely has some heady aspects and smoked in large amounts has some mild visuals like the name suggests.
