This is a photoperiod Runtz from Zamnesia Seeds. I will grow it in my self-made cabinet, equipped with an 80-watt LED light from Cokolila. The grow is fully organic!
Germination did not go so smoothly, as the first one turned out to be a dud. The second one germinated very quickly, fortunately, after 24 hours in a glass of water and a little time in a paper towel.

This was a tough week for the Runtz as the temperatures were very high. The young seedling will become a strong plant if she is able to cope with these temperatures! The temperatures will drop next week, so then the conditions should be much better and the grow can really start!

This was a nice recovery week for the Runtz! She is looking very healthy now and is growing happily. Next week I will start LST to control height and promote branching.

I tried LST, but she did not respond very well, so I decided to top her today. I will now wait for the branches to grow again, and then tie them down. But let's first see how she recovers!

She is big enough to touch the screen, so it's time to start the ScrOG! The plant is still very bushy, so it's hard to spread at the moment. But I will divert any vertical growth to the sides, and slowly start filling the screen.

After one week under the screen, she is starting to fill it. However, it is not going very quickly. The growing pattern is not perfect for a ScrOG, as the branches do not stretch very much. So patience is key! I hope one more week is enough before I flip to 12-12.

This week I did some light defoliation, in preparation for the flowering phase. At the end of the week, she recovered well and is now ready to start flowering. Let's see how Runtz does in the flowering stage!

The first week of the 12-12 light schedule and the little Runtz is showing her first pistils! The net is not completely full yet, but I will keep bending and weaving the next two or three weeks, to try and fill as much area with branches. I have added some bloom nutrients, to make sure she has everything she needs to make beautiful flowers!

Some reasonable growth this week. I'm still having a hard time figuring out how she is growing and how to make the best of it. Some branches are big and peaking above the net at a nice height, while others are still creeping at the level of the ScrOG, which is not what I want. I have cut away some of the little branches below the net because they were never going to make good buds, and I want to focus all resources on the branches with a good light interception. I defoliate now and then to make sure airflow remains, with her bushy growth, I have to be extra careful about mould. The temperature is dropping in the cabinet, and the RH is increasing, due to there being more plant mass now. Which is good, they are both at reasonable levels. Next week I hope to see some bud development!! I'm curious about the aromas, so far there is barely any smell.

She looks better than last week, but there is not as much flower development as I hoped. Even after defoliation, she is still very bushy with many small leaves. She is showing some bent leaf tips and discolouration, so I'm going to feed fewer nutrients next week.

Buds are showing some solid growth, very nice! She is starting to smell better and stronger too! Responding to burnt tips, I have reduced the nutrient feed for this week.

Last week I reduced her feed, and now there are no new signs of nutrient problems but I will keep giving her low-strength feed. The smell of the flowers is really good at this point!

We are well over the halfway point of the flowering stage, and the buds are growing bigger, stickier, heavier and smellier! The buds are starting to look pretty frosty as well. I'm doubting whether I should remove some foliage, to prevent rot or PM, or whether it's fine like this.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and these Runtz look like they are covered in snow! They smell so nice and sweet and are very sticky! The pistils are turning brown and the trichomes are milky, which means it's harvest time pretty soon. Just in time for the holiday season!

The buds got very fat this week, I am amazed by how much they increased in size! The smell is powerful and sweet. This is the second last week for this grow, which means I stopped giving her nutrients, as there is still plenty in the soil to cover the final period.

This is the last week for the Runtz, tomorrow I am harvesting her! She doesn't look the prettiest, with some nutrient problems. However, the buds are very sticky, smelly, thick, and compact! The buds have really fattened up in the last two weeks. The trichomes are now milky, with a few turned amber. The pistils are mostly brown. Tomorrow I will harvest her in the morning. I am going to try to hang the plant whole, by turning the screen upside down.
Growing Runtz was quite a challenge to grow. I had to pop two seeds, as the first one didn't germinate. Runtz grew very bushy, making it unsuitable for my ScrOG. I was able to spread the branches horizontally a bit, but mostly the screen was a hindrance. During flowering, she was sensitive to nutrients, even on an organic grow. Near the end of the grow, the buds were very dense, but nevertheless, she didn't get rot, which was amazing. She yielded 34 grams of dried buds, sharing an 80 W LED light with one other plant. The buds are hard, frosty, and with nice orange pistils. The buds smell a bit like cookies, but also earthy. The buds are potent, and give a hybrid effect.
👋 Hello! Looking great considering you are growing with a 80w light! I think she has just started to fill herself with flowering hormones and soon you will have bigger buds.
But some strain seems to be more susceptible to intense lights when imature buds start to emerged,...
It seems it is better to have mid light intensity then.
Can you dim those lights from the ballast? or bend plant so top leafs do not get too much?
Anyway Good luck! 💖
@Eauderay, hey there. This week, the buds have started to increase quite a lot in size, so I think she just needed some more time to get the flowers started than other strains! I think the stress signs are related to nutrients, so I'm going to feed less now and see how she responds.
