Experimenting with LST. Trying a higher stress approach of 90 degree plant trainers on the main stem of a young plant, then the lower stress pulling with an anchor. I want to see what gives stronger stems, auxins on the 90 degree should be stronger and provide a richer and fuller stem.
Took off some large fan leaves and smaller, larfy growth. Noticed pistils on Red Strawberry Banana. I accidentally broke off a stem from Coal Miner's Cookies.
Continued to clip about 20% of fan leaves off or less a night. I'm not going crazy with it, just removing the ones that block bud sites. I accidentally snapped off another stem on Coal Miner's Cookies.
Coal miners Cookies are really starting to open up and bloom. Pistils are really noticable now and bursting out. Red Strawberry Banana is so squatty and bushy, I really like that. Both are very easy to maintain.
I am now testing out heavier defoliation vs minimal. I am lightly defoliating the RSB and more heavily on the CMC.
CMC yellowing on the upper fan leaves still progressing. Nothing I can do at this point, it's too far gone and the maturity of the plant is getting riper by the day. Seeing excellent frosty trichromes on both plants.
Results so far are showing similar results in terms of both LST methods and defoliation. Not seeing anything very different between both plants.
Fast and easy grower, smells amazing. Not sure why it was so bushy but it was nice and compact! So dense and full of buds :)
Wet weight: 8.9oz
Dry weight: 2.2oz
Excellent grow, she was robust and resilient. This is a collab between two giants of the auto industry and it shows.
11.32 oz wet weight
3.22 oz dry weight
EXPERIMENT RESULTS
=======================================================
Coal Miner's Cookies (CMC) wet trim: 11.32oz 💪
Red Strawberry Banana (RSB) wet trim: 8.96 👍
It 's not a very conclusive experiment since this was conducted with two beans of different genetics. However I did make some observations:
* CMC had a 23% higher yield and that is not including me being a dumb ass and killing two main colas early in the process. The yield could have been potentially as high as 16oz on this one.
* CMC seemed to grow much larger yield than other diaries I have viewed of the same genetics.
* RSB grew significantly bushier than the other RSB diaries I have looked at for the same genetics.
* RSB grew much denser clusters of buds than other RSB diaries posted online.
@420DeepGrow, I'm assuming you are asking about the 16oz comment? I should have clarified that I meant 16oz wet weight. The two branches I broke off had the biggest colas early on, they were the biggest growing branches on the whole thing. I accidentally broke them and lost a ton of potential weight :(
