Starting my last phenotype hunt for the year, with a strain that got highly favourable mentions on two of my favourite podcasts, Barney's Farm Lemon Tree.
Fastest seeds out of the pack I've had, soaked them Friday night, planted them Saturday morning, and by Monday they were all breaking the surface!
They're doing really well, despite having gotten a bit lanky - one was even leaning over against the pot next to it and I propped it up but the next morning it was standing straight up again without support, growth is also pretty good for 7 days. I was a bit wary of nutrient burn because I'm feeding them the same feed all veggies are getting but they seem to be just fine with it.
At the end of this second week of theirs they were potted up to 1L air pots, which on phenotype hunts is their final pot size round them these parts here. Aiming for around 14-21 grams each under 150 watts again (they'll be joined by another 6 also very small plants to fill out the space).
Added picture of the veg space with an Invisible Sun ISH100 light dimmed to 50% or 50 watts and the tiniest oscillating fan.
At the end of this week I took the upper portion of the main stalks as cuttings and removed the 1st node growth, leaving two healthy shoots on node 2 for each plant. They'll be topped once more before going into flower with 4 tops each.
Last week of veg for these, they've been topped a second time and put into bloom mode over the weekend. Now for three weeks of stretch, hopefully not too much, they have about a foot of headroom.
First week of flower stretch, and I'm battling high humidity. New humidifier is working on it. Low temperatures have also slowed down rooting of the cuttings taken two weeks ago, but they're still looking pretty healthy and the first one has been shooting roots out the sides and bottom of its little starter cup now.
Second week of stretch, two of these added quite a bit more height than others while one has remained stout. Swapped their placement in the tent halfway through to alleviate possible microclimate issues. Starting to show flowers, so going to add a PK boost some time during next week.
Stretch is over, and not an inch too early. Removed a few of the lower fan leaves to cut down on transpiration a bit, RH was getting too high. Going to add PK boost to the feeding regimen next week and watch them make buds. ☺️
First week of bulk for these, and they're starting to get smelly - some more so than others, #6 especially. Added PK boost to their feed and took some more fan leaves from between buds.
Soz for skipping the past couple of weeks, but they were simply fattening and ripening, as they do. They were faster than anticipated though, so after checking trichomes they're coming down tonight after 8 weeks of flower rather than 9.
@Ghost2022, that'd be the 80 actual watts version and the 120 watts version, right? I've got a few of the latter and have been getting up to 1.5 gram per watt under them, with a familiar cultivar, using them dimmed to half strength in very small spaces (2ft height, DP60 propagation tents).
This grow (with 3ft height, yay) is actually under the 250 watts one which Growdiaries doesn't list yet, but it's pretty much two of the 120 watt CR600 in one fixture and I'm running it dimmed down to 60% so I'm actually only using 150 watts for this grow - on the previous phenotype hunt this got me just over 6 Oz (with quite a variation between 8 plants).
Hope that helps, cheers for stopping by.
