Week 2 - popped a couple out to check roots and they're starting to grow up the sides. I'll go a few more days and move up to a little bigger plastic pot. Then move to 3 gallon fabric pots after that. Hopefully I get 2-3 girls from these plants.
Potted the babies into about half G pots. Gave them a shot of EWC tea at the same time.
I decided to give them some Fish Fertilizer today with their nutrients because my plants in my other grow keep showing nitrogen deficiency now (after week 4) and I've been fighting that for 3 weeks now. Hoping to keep these ones nice and green by giving a little extra nitrogen early on.
Will wait a week or so and probably top these plants to try clone them. I'd like to sex the clones so I can cull the males out for space reasons....but might just forget it and let them go into flower and see then.
These plants just keep shooting up and the smell is crazy strong.
Transplanted to 3 gallon and gave them some EWC tea at same time.
Decided to top them this week to get them to bush out a bit. The plant were starting the 7th node and I clipped 3 off each plant. I was going to clone the tops and flower to sex them but I just don't have the space right now. These plants will be going into another tent to veg another week or two while I do some LST and then flower. Would love to scrog them but without knowing the sex...it would be pointless.
The plants are recovering well from the topping I did last week. I was hoping to do some LST on them but the stem is too thick so I guess I'll let them go.
Gave them some EWC tea this week and put them into their new grow space. One of the NB are still in the main tent. As soon as I get my carbon filter and get in into the closet...I'll be changing these to flower.
Switched to 12-12 this week. I would have preferred to have LST these plants but by the time I decided to do it...the branches were too thick. I briefly considered SCROG as well but when the males show themselves...my scrog would be pointless.
I'm not expecting much from these plants but maybe they'll surprise me.
I was also considering pulling some clones off
when the females start to bud and try root them and re-veg. I'll see what they look like in a couple weeks before I decide.
Was a good week. Plants are looking great but had to kill two of them after finding balls. But 3 out of the 5 appear to be females so I'm pretty happy with that. I'll be watching but no balls noticed on the remaining 3.
Moved the ladies from their closet into the flower tent with other plants. Moved the LED lights into that tent as well so they are still under about 300w (actual) of LED plus some side light from the HPS in the other side of the tent.
3x4 tent with 600w HPS over the 3x3 area and 300w LEDs (supposedly 1300w) over the 1x3 area.
Did some trimming this week. Other than that all ladies are doing alright. Not expecting a large yield from these plants. Definitely will try doing LST and another topping next time to get more tops and an even canopy.
Easy week...just letting them do their thing. Didn't do any training or defoliation this week. Trying to keep my LED lights about 8-10 inches above tops....watching for bleaching. So far looking good.
End of week 5....
Had the LED lights too close to the plants and got some top bleaching on buds. Moved the lights up to about 16 inches.
Never did much with them this week. Feed and water...repeat.
Did a little defoliation this week to open up the light to the middle.
Also put a heater in the tent to keep temps and humidity in check at night. It was getting down to 62F at lights out. Hooked it to my Inkbird and it's set to kick on at 71F and kick out at 73F.
Other than that...girls are filling in nicely, are crazy sticky, and have a sweet slinky smell. Can't wait til they're ready!
Started ripening this week by dropping liquid KB and starting the dry KB. Reduced or dropped most nutrients as well. Hopefully start flush in about a week but I'll check and see at that time.
No problems this week with the plants but my daytime temps are getting up to 84F and my exhaust is maxed out. Decided to drop light wattage down From 600w to 450w for the rest of the grow.
Also my nightime humidity is climbing to 50+ so I out a small dehumidifier in today to hopefully bring it down abit
Finishing giving these 3 girls nutrients this week and will be giving pH water and molasses until a few days before harvest...hopefully in 10 days.
Also, I moved them from under the LEDs to under the 600w HPS light for the last couple weeks to see if it will help them bulk up a bit more before harvest.
These girls have been so easy to grow. I wish I would have LST them and had an extra couple weeks of veg to see what they could have done.
I think they're pretty much done. I stopped feeding about 10 days ago except for some Terpinator and molasses. Flushed her out with some final flush 4 days ago and one small water two days ago. I think I'll put her under two days of dark and then harvest them.
I got this strain from PeakSeedsBC. I have more of his strains to try so I'll be popping some Kush Berry or Skunk Berry next time.
Also, I ran these under cheap LED for the first 6 weeks of flower. I moved them under the HPS for the last 2-3 weeks. I wonder if they would have produced better if they had had more light from the start...
